2. 2. Porifera

The body is like a sack full of pores and channels.

Water circulates through it, and the cells get the small plancton.

Porifera don’t have one skeleton. Instead, they have a lot of small and tough pieces, called spicules.

They live attached to a surface

 3. 5. Cnidaria

They have a soft body and a mouth surrounded by tentacles.

There are two body types: polyps and medusae (jellyfish).

Polyps live attached to a surface.

 4. 6. Jellyfish float in the sea
 5. 8.

They have a complex life cycle, while you can see in this picture…

 6. 10. Worms

There are many types of true worms.

This is not a worm

 7. 11.

Nor this.

 8. 13.

All these animals are larvae of insects…

 9. 14.

These , instead, are really worms

 10. 16.

They have a soft body and no skeleton.

 11. 17. Platyhelminthes

They have long, flat and soft bodies…

 12. 18.

Some of them are parasitic…

Not all.

 13. 19. Nematodes

They have cylindrical bodies,

not

divided into segments, …

 14. 20.

Not like this…

 15. 21. Annelids

They have a soft, cylindrical body,

but

divided into segments, …

 16. 22.

This group have three small groups a bit differents:

Leeches,

With no hairs or chetae in its skin…

 17. 24.

Oligochaeta,

worms with small groups of chetae or hairs over its skin,

like the earthworm

 18. 26.

And polychaetes,

sea worms

with a lot of hairs, usually at the top of small limbs

 19. 27. Molluscs

They have a soft body divided into three parts: head , body mass and foot.

 20. 28.

They breathe through gills…

(Aquatic)

 21. 29.

But some breathe through lungs…

(terrestrial)

 22. 30.

And they go through metamorphosis

 23. 32.

There are three main groups of molluscs:

Gasthropoda, without or with a spiral shell, terrestrial or aquatic

 24. 34.

Bivalves, with a shell, with two valves, ever aquatic

 25. 36.

Cephalopods, with an internal shell, or without it, and the foot divided into tentacles

 26. 38. Arthropods

They have jointed legs and an external skeleton.

Their bodies are divided into three parts: head, thorax and abdomen.

 27. 39.

And they can undergo metamorphosis

 28. 41.

Some have the head join to the thorax forming a cephalothorax

Like the crustaceans and the arachnids …

 29. 42. Arthropods

The Crustaceans live in the sea.

Some form one important part of the zooplancton, that feed the fisheries.

 30. 44.

The arachnids are not ever like this animal …

 31. 46.

Others had only the head and the trunk…

The myriapoda

 33. 49. The insects
 34. 50.

Some undergo metamorphosis,

Others not.

Some have wings,

Others not.

Some are common,

Some are strange…

 35. 52. Echinoderms

They have an internal skeleton made up of plaques under their skin.

They breathe through their skin, using the ambulacral apparatus.

They undergo metamorphosis.

 36. 54.

There are five groups of echinoderms.

It could be that you know two of them…

The starfish or asteroidea…
