- Stan (aged 15, Beauchamp College) Learning Centre Stan writes: “I have created a learning centre with many functions such as computer training, engineering and inventing. I have attempted to create a calming environment to learn in using balconies and plant life. It is elevated on a wall and I mainly used dark oak wood, spruce wood and cobblestone for the exterior with lots of flowers. I think an advanced computer teaching area would be great for learning skills with programmes such as Photoshop which could apply to someone’s life depending on their job. A department for invention I think is a great idea. A department like this would allow people to be creative and share ideas that could change the way we live.”

There are hanging chandeliers and an under floor area with shrubbery and a tree which protrudes up to the staircase. There is a large window at the back of the room to allow light in, plus a lift to the next floor.”
- Stan (aged 15, Beauchamp College) Learning Centre “In this area, there is an array of signs which indicate the locations of areas of the building. To the left is the café, Engineering and Invention Department, on the next floor is the computer training area and to the left is the lift.”
- Thomas (aged 11, Leysland High School) Underground School Thomas writes: “This is my overall view of my school. It is underground so not much is destroyed of the landscape around it.” “I chose this building because I wanted to make a school that doesn’t use up a lot of power and is good for the environment. It’s a good way to use the sun and not use up all of the water in that area.”
- Thomas (aged 11, Leysland High School) Underground School “This is my supply of everything. The solar-panels power all of the lights and the projectors in the school and the water supply supplies water to wherever it is needed.”
- Thomas (aged 11, Leysland High School) Underground School “Here is one of my toilets. The water comes from the water system at the bottom of my school. The taps are always warm from the solar-panels powering the water and making it nice and toasty.”
