5th, 1901 in Chicago (The U.S.A.).
• He died on December 15th, 1966 at
the age of 65.
• He was an animator, voice actor,
producer, and entertainer who
founded The Walt Disney Company
and created the iconic character
Mickey Mouse.
• He produced such classic films as
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,
Pinocchio and Cinderella.
3. BIOGRAPHY
• Before Fame, he worked as an ambulance driver
for the Red Cross in France.
• Walt Disney began developing his skills as a
cartoonist as a young kid. He loved drawing
cartoon pictures of his neighbour's horses.
• Mickey Mouse wasn't Disney's first iconic
character, but Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
• Mickey Mouse was originally named Mortimer Mouse, but
Disney's wife said the name Mortimer sounded too pompous,
convincing Disney to change the adorable rodent's name to
Mickey. The name Mortimer was instead given to Mickey's rival
mouse in later episodes.

• From 1928 (the birth of Mickey Mouse) until 1947,
Disney himself did the voice of Mickey.
• Disney received more Academy Awards and
nominations than has anyone else. Between 1932
and 1969, he won 22 Academy Awards and was
nominated 59 times.
• Disney's favorite character was Goofy.
• Disney films are famous for their absentee mothers, from Pinocchio
to The Jungle Book. Many believe this trend was the result of Disney's
guilt and anguish over his own mother's death. After the success of
Snow White, Disney purchased a new home for his parents. A broken
heating system resulted in his mother's death from carbon monoxide
poisoning.

• Disney is not cryogenically frozen, despite the persistent
rumours. He was cremated, and his ashes were buried at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
• According to legend, Isabel Zamora, a young
washerwoman who emigrated from Mojácar (Almería)
with her son, José Guirao Zamora, to the United States in
search of new opportunities. The bastard son, possibly
the doctor Ginés Carrillo’s, was the reason that Isabel
decided to flee a rural population that marginalised
single mothers. Zamora departed from the port of
Cartagena, heading for Chicago, where she gave the
child to the marriage formed by Elijah and Flora Disney.
7. CURIOSITIES
• A widespread rumor - it is said that by the
mayor of Mojácar - states that Disney confessed
that he felt Andalusian to the artist Salvador
Dalí. At the beginning of 1946 they began to
work together for the realisation of a animated
short film, "Destino” (Destiny).
• Disney became friends with John Edgar Hoover,
the most famous and controversial FBI Director
and acted secretly as an FBI agent from the early
1940s.
