Jose Coronado presented on how design practices need to evolve to address current challenges. McKinsey research found that companies with higher design maturity saw 32% higher revenue growth and 56% higher stock returns. However, many companies still do not talk to customers or measure design's impact. Coronado discussed how individual designers and teams need to broaden their skills, strengthen partnerships, bring people along, embrace diversity, get outside their comfort zone, communicate design effectively, and continuously reflect and evolve. The methods that got design teams to where they are will not be sufficient for future success and impact.
