Circular saw
. When using the hacksaw you should put your hand firmly on the wood to
ensure that the wood does not move or come out of place.
. Keep both hands at least 20 cm from the blade to ensure you don’t injure
yourself
. Wear a face mask so that excess saw dust does is not inhaled (especially if
you suffer from chest problems)
. Wear goggles so that saw dust does not go into your eyes
Hammer and nails.
. Make sure that the nail is secured in the wood before hammering
. Placement of the fingers in a place where the hammer will not hit your
finger.
. Ensure you wear goggles in case you hit yourself with the hammer (if
required)
. Ensure wood is secured so that it does not flick up at yourself
. Ensure that you use the right nail for the right hammer for example
Wood saw
• Make sure the wood is clamped keeping the wood stable so that the wood
does not move around
• Make sure that fingers/hands are away from the blade securing the wood
to ensure that you don’t cut yourself
Jigsaw
• Ensure that you wear goggles and mask to ensure that you don’t get
sawdust in your eyes or inhale it.
• ensure that the wood is clamped as the saw makes vibrations which can
affect the stability
• make sure that hands and fingers are away from the blade so that you don’t
cut yourself
