Part A– First person, analytical essay, PEEL format. 300–500 words.
There are many horrible ways of people getting depression and anxiety in the world which is
highly increasing as the days go on. One of these ways of producing these two elements is mental
health. Mental health is not just a bad thing but is also good as you can create resilience, coping
strategies and avenues to seek help with anxiety and depression. Psychology workers are one of the
many jobs of people helping to create resilience, coping strategies and avenues for people to help
them get through anxiety and depression through mental health. Resilience is what the psychology
workers aim for first as it has the capacity to help people recover quickly from difficulties...show

A way to find out how to use these things towards you as an advantage is by talking to a
professional or someone that has used them in the past like a psychologist or a doctor. This is
clearly affecting the world that we live in today by a long shot more than any other symptom out
there. For example from the age 18 years and older 18% of the U.S populations have anxiety
disorders, that's 40 million people that are affected by this disorder known as anxiety. Only
one–third of the of people anxiety disorders around the world are being treated yet this disease is
highly treatable. This leads onto the fact that over $42 billion is spent on anxiety disorders out of the
total $148 billion total that is spent on the mental health bill, that's roughly one–third of the total
payment. Therefore we can clearly tell by the statistics that over 40million people in the U.S have
the anxiety disorder, only one–third of the people are being treated yet it is highly treatable and the
fact that it has used over $42 billion in the U.S.
Therefore it can be concluded that the current position that the population of people with anxiety
disorders and people that are being treated with and completely different numbers and requires and
seeks global attention as it is a big issue. There is a connection with all the people that having been
treated and we can clearly conclude that

Methodology
The project is addressed as an analytical site–specific based, that focuses to create a stronger
coherence between public life with plans for existing building structures. The design approach for
this project is studio experimentation. Through action and reflection process, the practice works in
relation to extrapolate probability and plausibility for Sydney urban public space – as a metaphor of
improvisation. This method includes observation, computer modelling, and 3d models/maquettes.
First, the observation is conducted in several Central Sydney's laneways. And it is used for
acquiring primary data to understand the context, and to aware of our creative process (Carole Gray

laneway–to–laneway experience. Through this research, it forms self–observation through analysing
and planning by researcher's experiences of being in the world itself. The observation has become
an extension of the visual memory (Setha Low 2003).
As a result, the observation has led to an experimental assessment of the laneways. This findings
performs many similar aspects of the geometry system in Central Sydney's laneways. In Honours B,
this project has taken more in–depth site analysis and measurements of laneways in Central Sydney.
In particular, in the area of Martin Place, Wynyard, and Circular Quay. And focusing on York Lane,
Bridge Lane, Abercrombie Lane, Custom House Lane, Loftus Lane, and Phillip Lane. All this lane
illustrates the most similarity of its system and structural components (figure 5).

For examples, the laneway is consists as connected lanes with one lane and another. It has the
similarities in width and length, and pedestrian steps are needed to walk in a laneway. Moreover, it
contains same furnishings and amenities, and a similar pattern of building structures. Therefore, it
has set–up a framework and working dimension for experimentation of the object system, and its
attachments to the laneway.

Finesse of Emotions What makes us human? What makes us human is our curiosity and constant
evolution. What makes us human is the ability to create social categories and to form opinions.
Abstract emotions including love, thought and creativity are what make us human. In 1984, George
Orwell uses his dystopia to show that if we were to abolish these abstract emotions we would cease
to be human and become the simple primates we once were; surviving for the sake of survival.
Orwell uses Winston and Julia's relationship to show the power of the human emotion of love.
Winston is a pessimistic man that has nothing to live for except for life itself, until he meets a love
interest; Julia. Orwell narrates "At the...show more content...
Orwell is stating that the party convinces that your emotions are nothing but "mere feelings". The
party is saying that the same emotions that separate humans from savages are of "no account".
Orwell also asserts the dehumanization of the party members during the re–education of Winston.
O'Brien explains to Winston, "We control matter because we control themind. "Reality is in the
skull" (218). O'Brien convinces Winston that what he perceives the world to be, is nothing but what
the party wants him to perceive. He is telling him that all that he knows means nothing because "we
[the party] control[s] matter" This dehumanizes him by controlling his creativity and thought
processes; they make him think whatever they want him to think. By doing this Winston becomes
nothing but an extant body; a lifeless corpse that has no means of its own aside from survival. The
most powerful weapons in the world are emotions. Emotions not only guide us, but seem to control
us. Emotions are easily manipulated by the government and the media to their choosing in order to
sustain society and promote anything from toy model cars to large scale genocide. Don't let your
emotions be controlled or you will be

A. What type of opinion did the auditors issue on Google's financial statements for 2007? What is
the date of the audit opinion? Explain why the opinion date is different than the date of the financial

Ernst & Young provides an unqualified opinion following their review of Google'sfinancial

reporting, but they do go onto state that they changed their accounting methods in previous years as

C. What is meant by the term 'earnings guidance'? Why might managers provide earnings guidance
or earnings forecast in advance of the release of the actual earnings number for a quarter? Why
might managers choose not to provide earnings guidance in advance of earnings?
Earnings guidance (aka 'forward looking statements') is the forecast of earnings issued by
management that is used to try and influence the opinions issued by financial analysts. They use
these to try and 'walk down' market expectations of future earnings of the corporation. Managers may
choose not to issue earnings guidance in the case that they expect strong earnings and actually want
analysts to inflate expectations that in turn can drive stock prices up or they may choose not to issue
earnings guidance if there's not enough data to make a confident statement. The advantage of
providing earnings guidance before earnings are announced is to control the message and try to
frame the changes. These comments often focus on sales or earnings expectations in light of
industry and macroeconomic trends. These comments are made to investors so that they can
evaluate the company's earnings potential. .
Some managers choose not to release this information before earnings as they have a different
strategy for messaging

Discourses have powerful social effects and can empower some, while marginalizing others. In
the texts Lost Property and Muriel's Wedding the dominant discourse is relationship. The
audience is positioned to see Josh Tambling from Lost Property as having tough relationships as
he is the one who is expected to pull through. While Muriel Heslop from Muriel's Wedding is
portrayed as unreliable and selfish as the story is told. In the early stages of both texts it is obvious
that Josh and Muriel have different relationships, as Josh is respected and dependable while Muriel
is rejected and a failure. Josh is trustworthy towards his friends which make him respected in his
relationships. For instance, he shows his loyal and respectable values...show more content...

Analytical Essay Romeo And Juliet
Analytical Essay – Romeo and Juliet Written by the world–renowned playwright William
Shakespeare during the Elizabethan era, Romeo and Juliet explores the tragic demise of an ill–fated
couple. During the Elizabethan era, patriarchy was dominant in the Elizabethan society and it was
common for fathers to arrange marriages for their children. Shakespeare references the
consequences of families forcing young women to marry men for status rather than love with
Juliet's cautionary tale. Through his tragedy structure, Shakespeare creates complex characters with
layered and flawed personalities such as Romeo's. This is portrayed through Shakespeare's use of
literary technique, which highlights the characters who play a significant role in the wedded lover's
death. The character who is primarily responsible for Romeo and Juliet's unfortunate catastrophe
was Friar Lawrence due to his actions and choices which escalate the tragic events in the plot.
Romeo's hamartia Shakespeare structured his tragic plays to include the protagonist's hamartia to
drive them to their sorrowful death. Romeo's impulsive infatuation towards Juliet, even after
discovering that she was a Capulet, was his first step into the play's staircase of catastrophe; his
fatal flaw. In Act 1 Scene 2, Shakespeare demonstrates Romeo's tenacious infatuation with Rosaline
using metaphors. When Benvolio compares Rosaline to a crow and the other young ladies at the
ball as swans, as a way of inviting Romeo to the ball,

Hamlet Conflict
"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.–Confucius" For as long as humans
have lived with each other on this earth there has been conflict and war between us all whether it
was because of resources, money, and or power someone has killed someone to get what they
wanted even if they had to kill their only brother to get it.This is what happened in the story of
Hamlet, Hamlet's father was killed by his uncle; Claudius presumably because he wanted to be king
himself and to marry his brother's wife. This made Hamlet depressed and miserable because his
father died and his mother married his uncle straight away. Then later on in the story theghost of
hamlets father shows up and tells him that his uncle Claudius killed him. At first Hamlet was very
calm and rational about the whole ordeal, he even made a plan to try and see if the ghost was
telling the truth. However once he found out that the ghost was indeed telling the truth hamlet
started to obsess more and more over killing Claudius that he didn't care who he had to kill or who
he had to hurt in order to kill him. This was very obvious in the scene where hamlet accidently
killed Polonius. "Help, help, ho!...show more content...

Textual Analysis Argument
Throughout my time in english 110 I have written an analysis essay, a research paper, and an
opinion editorial piece. Two of which I have never written before. At the beginning of the semester I
thought a good writer was someone who used good word choice and who could use an effective
writing theme for an essay. I was so utterly wrong, a good writer is someone who can evoke
emotion, connect ideas and effectively relate to others. They use peers for feedback and always
revise their work. A good writer is someone who believes that their work is never finished, it is
more than just someone who can tie a few ideas back into their original thesis statement. As I grew

ideas down on paper, this helped me pinpoint which ideas were the most persuasive and
important. I chose to write my opinion piece on if NASA should get more funding from the
federal budget. Once everyone finished their drafts, we had peer groups look over it. I got positive

what I could add in replace and how to make it more persuasive. From writing this type of paper I
learned how to be more persuasive and how to better distinguish between good ideas and great

Analytical Essay: The Issue Of Obesity
Obesity is huge problem in the twenty–first century, but the people that have control over this do not
care. In a materialistic society, money is everything. In food corporations, it appears that profit is
also everything. Of course, this applies to their marketing strategies. Corporations have to be more
for the consumer, or else they would have no business. However, consumers are still being tricked
by these corporations. Granted that many corporations may offer low prices, decent tasting products,
and great inventory of product, consumers fall for this as opposed to other products that are much
healthier. It should not be this way. The activities offood and marketing corporations must change in
order for the issue of obesity to change for the better. The attitude of marketing groups is a huge
reason why obesity is such a...show more content...
Before there was a call to break these groups, the marketing world ran as it pleased. This would refer
to the years prior to the mid–1970s. It is odd how marketing was extremely laissez– faire back then,
but the majority of consumers were in rather decent health (Soechtig 2014). In fact, Katie Couric,
the narrator of Fed Up, mentions that obesity would affect only around five percent of children
during this time (2014). Still, many people saw an issue with this statistic. A separate committee in
the United States Senate worked on a plan to help tackle the way food was being processed during
the mid–1970s (Soechtig 2014). Their work was called the McGovern Report, which was named
after the committee's chairman George McGovern (Soechtig 2014). The report took note of common
dietary issues and it attempted to give better habits in eating certain processed foods. Unfortunately,
for consumers, food and marketing corporations fired back, and the original ideas to the McGovern
report were trashed. The many companies that complained realized that this report would cause a
huge loss in profit. One of the center points to

Macbeth Analytical Essay
In an effort to achieve, it is often in literature that the protagonist learns to accept his or her currently
fortuitous circumstances and rather than ambitiously seek what he or she wants, the protagonist
acquires what they need. This is a way in which an author can teach a moral lesson about the ill fate
of those bridled by ambition, hubris, greed, etc., without being overtly sententious. Shakespeare,
whether by intention or coincidence, wrote in a similar sense in regards to some of his most famous
and renowned tragedies. Often his works reflect a sense of morality, though rather than the
protagonists realizing the mistakes, their flaws become fatal and only after their actions take their
grievous course do they acknowledge their misjudgements....show more content...
Hamlet, one of Shakespeare's most beloved protagonists, shares character traits with well crafted
villains. Though he is supposed to be a tragic hero, he wittingly and cruelly hurts the people close
to him in his despair and thirst for revenge. Towards the end of the play he claims he loved
Ophelia more than her own brother did, a brother who did not play with her emotions and use her
for his own gain and bloody goals. Even if Hamlet did truly love Ophelia, he manipulated and
viciously abused her feelings, trust, and confidence, something one would find in a
power–imbalanced relationship where one is a villain and the other a victim. His downfall,
though, is his play at madness. He chooses to donne a facade of insanity in order to take revenge
for his father's sake, but meanwhile compromises his authority and ability to be taken seriously.
Had he rather been subtle and not abrasively distance himself from every potential ally, perhaps he
would not have met such a gruesome end. His own actions and selfish willingness to do anything to
satisfy his own lust for revenge was the direct cause of his death. His brash murder of Polonius, his
alienation of Ophelia, his disturbing confrontation and aggression towards his mother all lead to his
death and the death of other innocent people. Again, Shakespeare has

My Writing Assignment Analysis
Writing is part of our daily lives, especially in school. We depend on literature and writing for
assignments and sneakily talking to friends across the building. It is something we wouldn't be able
to function without. That doesn't mean writing is always easy. When I open up a book I expect to
be dragged into the story whether I want to be there or not. Authors live to write extraordinary pieces
of literature that their readers don't want to put down. They can do this because they are amazing
writers. In my opinion a piece of writing cannot be good without an author that is beyond good. So
many things in the writing must blend together to make a story. Everything from the words and
grammar to punctuation play a part in making an incredible piece. When an author manages to blend
these unique components into a story then you know they've written something amazing. You don't

weakness. I have a hard time with punctuation. I question is there should be a semicolon or a

Analytical Essay Othello
Shakespeare is prominent in his use of recurring themes throughout his works, particularly those of
love, death, and betrayal. All these themes are present in Othello. Most dominant, however, are
manipulation and jealousy. Jealousy runs the characters' lives in Othello from the beginning of the
play, when Roderigo is jealous of Othello because he wishes to be with Desdemona, and to the end of
the play, when Othello is furious with jealousy because he believes Cassio and Desdemona have
been engaging in an affair, but manipulation the prominent action that fuels the jealousy within
Othello. Some characters' jealousy is fashioned by other characters. Iago is involved in much of this,
creating lies and implementing confusing situations....show more content...
He is clever in his diction to avoid confrontation that can easily erupt. An example of Iago's
manipulation is when he and Roderigo confront Brabanzio about his daughter. Brabanzio does not
believe what the two say about Desdemona, calling it ridiculous, and he becomes angry because he
has been woken up in the middle of the night. Roderigo immediately starts to explain, which only
angers Brabanzio even more. Iago, on the other hand, responds by actually complimenting
Brabanzio. Brabanzio yells, "Thou art a villain" to which Iago responds, "You are a senator". The
father is taken aback by this surprising comment and it causes him to step back and re–examine the
situation, which eases his anger and causes him to believe the two storytellers, especially when he
finds Desdemona missing from her bed chamber
However, along with his word choice, Iago is clever at the timing of what he says. He knows
exactly what to say and when to say it to incite jealousy within anyone he wishes. He uses this
particularly well with Roderigo and Othello. An example of Iago's timing of jealousy is when he
speaks to Roderigo of the suspicions regarding Desdemona's love for Othello. "Mark me with what
violence she first loved the Moor but for bragging and telling her fantastical lies. To love him still
for prating? Let not thy discreet heart think it. Her eye must be fed". In this excerpt Iago represents

Jung, C. G. (1972). Two essays on analytical psychology
Jung's Two Essays on Analytical Psychology includes the works The Unconscious in the Normal
and Pathological Mind and The Relation of the Ego to the Unconscious, which are 1928 revisions of
previously written papers. Jung, who was Freud's well–known disciple from 1909 to 1914, held
ideas different from Freud's and Adler's that eventually led to personal differences between them,
particularly with Freud; their followers have continued these differences. One of the point of
disagreement is Jung's opinion that Freud's concept of the libido is too concerned with sexuality
and that Adler's will to power is also too simplistic. Alternatively to Freud, he calls the libido the

On the other hand, Freud and Adler had difficulty in refusing the development of both humanity and
the individual and were rigid in their beliefs.
Jung believed that psychic energy had its foundation in the tension of opposites; this energy could

neurosis, with the first focusing the object and the second emphasized the subject, are viewed as
manifestations of an oppositional type. The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while
the extraversion type focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their
unadulterated state. Moreover, the dynamics of a relationship between individuals who retain
contradictory personality types was examined by Jung. Alternatively, to contrast with the concepts of
Freud and Adler, they describe neuroses as sometimes allocating useful adaptive functions.
The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind
Jung considers and discusses the concept of the collective unconscious as well as its role in the
process of transference within psychotherapy. He suggests that the traditional method of dream

Through the argumentative essay my skills in using textual evidence improved greatly. Before this

Lisa of literature" in the eyes of T.S. Eliot, has retained its allure and universal appeal throughout
history. The play itself portrays the troubled court of Denmark as an almost allegory for the late
Elizabethan era, reflecting the ubiquitous sense of existential anxiety within English society brought
on by political instability and religious conflict. Moreover, by appropriating revenge tragedy
conventions such as the Machiavellian villain, meta–theatre and madness, Shakespeare explores the
political, moral and individual corruption plaguing the tragedy's eponymous hero. In doing so, the
play moves beyond the dissection of contemporary concerns...show more content...
According to feminist critic Linda Bamber, Gertrude is a character going through a "period of
political danger" and one of "ambiguous morality" – not the "disgustingly sensual" and corrupt
"creature" Hamlet perceives. Hamlet's ad hominem attacks against his mother and her morality,
however, are reasonable in Shakespeare's society, which, headed by a "Virgin Queen", places an
unparalleled emphasis on female chastity. In fact, Hamlet becomes increasingly disillusioned with
his world when his mother's "o'erhasty marriage" betrays the ideal image of womanhood and
motherhood. This corruption of family values inspired Hamlet's detestation of his mother and the
inclusion of her foul actions in his direction of "The Murder of Gonzago". A genre convention of
revenge tragedies, this meta–theatrical portrayal of Gertrude reflects Hamlet's disappointment in her
actions and equates her moral corruption with Claudius' political villainy. Also in accordance with
the genre, verisimilitude is used to develop dramatic tension through the audience's confusion about
what is real and what is false – echoing the moral ambiguity inherent to Gertrude's character. In a
personified statement about acting and the nature of the theatrum mundi, Hamlet states that "the
purpose of playing...was and is...to hold as 'twere the mirror up to nature", supporting the
interpretation that his hatred for his mother was projected onto the negative portrayal of the "Player
Queen". Thus, this disappointment in his mother's betrayal that symbolises the moral corruption of
his society further motivates Hamlet's revenge, while simultaneously adding to his confusion
regarding the governing philosophies of his

What Is An Analytical Essay

  • 1. Part A– First person, analytical essay, PEEL format. 300–500 words. There are many horrible ways of people getting depression and anxiety in the world which is highly increasing as the days go on. One of these ways of producing these two elements is mental health. Mental health is not just a bad thing but is also good as you can create resilience, coping strategies and avenues to seek help with anxiety and depression. Psychology workers are one of the many jobs of people helping to create resilience, coping strategies and avenues for people to help them get through anxiety and depression through mental health. Resilience is what the psychology workers aim for first as it has the capacity to help people recover quickly from difficulties...show more content... A way to find out how to use these things towards you as an advantage is by talking to a professional or someone that has used them in the past like a psychologist or a doctor. This is clearly affecting the world that we live in today by a long shot more than any other symptom out there. For example from the age 18 years and older 18% of the U.S populations have anxiety disorders, that's 40 million people that are affected by this disorder known as anxiety. Only one–third of the of people anxiety disorders around the world are being treated yet this disease is highly treatable. This leads onto the fact that over $42 billion is spent on anxiety disorders out of the total $148 billion total that is spent on the mental health bill, that's roughly one–third of the total payment. Therefore we can clearly tell by the statistics that over 40million people in the U.S have the anxiety disorder, only one–third of the people are being treated yet it is highly treatable and the fact that it has used over $42 billion in the U.S. Therefore it can be concluded that the current position that the population of people with anxiety disorders and people that are being treated with and completely different numbers and requires and seeks global attention as it is a big issue. There is a connection with all the people that having been treated and we can clearly conclude that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The design approach for this project is studio experimentation. Through action and reflection process, the practice works in relation to extrapolate probability and plausibility for Sydney urban public space – as a metaphor of improvisation. This method includes observation, computer modelling, and 3d models/maquettes. First, the observation is conducted in several Central Sydney's laneways. • 3. 1984 Analytical Essay 992542 P.5 Finesse of Emotions What makes us human? What makes us human is our curiosity and constant evolution. What makes us human is the ability to create social categories and to form opinions. Abstract emotions including love, thought and creativity are what make us human. In 1984, George Orwell uses his dystopia to show that if we were to abolish these abstract emotions we would cease to be human and become the simple primates we once were; surviving for the sake of survival. Orwell uses Winston and Julia's relationship to show the power of the human emotion of love. Winston is a pessimistic man that has nothing to live for except for life itself, until he meets a love interest; Julia. Orwell narrates "At the...show more content... Orwell is stating that the party convinces that your emotions are nothing but "mere feelings". The party is saying that the same emotions that separate humans from savages are of "no account". Orwell also asserts the dehumanization of the party members during the re–education of Winston. O'Brien explains to Winston, "We control matter because we control themind. "Reality is in the skull" (218). O'Brien convinces Winston that what he perceives the world to be, is nothing but what the party wants him to perceive. He is telling him that all that he knows means nothing because "we [the party] control[s] matter" This dehumanizes him by controlling his creativity and thought processes; they make him think whatever they want him to think. By doing this Winston becomes nothing but an extant body; a lifeless corpse that has no means of its own aside from survival. The most powerful weapons in the world are emotions. Emotions not only guide us, but seem to control us. Emotions are easily manipulated by the government and the media to their choosing in order to sustain society and promote anything from toy model cars to large scale genocide. Don't let your emotions be controlled or you will be Get more content on HelpWriting.net

They state that Google has performed effective internal control over their financial reporting, but they do go onto state that they changed their accounting methods in previous years as a note. Why might managers provide earnings guidance or earnings forecast in advance of the release of the actual earnings number for a quarter? Why might managers choose not to provide earnings guidance in advance of earnings? Earnings guidance (aka 'forward looking statements') is the forecast of earnings issued by management that is used to try and influence the opinions issued by financial analysts. They use these to try and 'walk down' market expectations of future earnings of the corporation. Managers may choose not to issue earnings guidance in the case that they expect strong earnings and actually want analysts to inflate expectations that in turn can drive stock prices up or they may choose not to issue earnings guidance if there's not enough data to make a confident statement. The advantage of providing earnings guidance before earnings are announced is to control the message and try to frame the changes. These comments often focus on sales or earnings expectations in light of industry and macroeconomic trends. These comments are made to investors so that they can evaluate the company's earnings potential. . Some managers choose not to release this information before earnings as they have a different strategy for messaging Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 7. Analytical Essay Romeo And Juliet Analytical Essay – Romeo and Juliet Written by the world–renowned playwright William Shakespeare during the Elizabethan era, Romeo and Juliet explores the tragic demise of an ill–fated couple. During the Elizabethan era, patriarchy was dominant in the Elizabethan society and it was common for fathers to arrange marriages for their children. Shakespeare references the consequences of families forcing young women to marry men for status rather than love with Juliet's cautionary tale. Through his tragedy structure, Shakespeare creates complex characters with layered and flawed personalities such as Romeo's. This is portrayed through Shakespeare's use of literary technique, which highlights the characters who play a significant role in the wedded lover's death. The character who is primarily responsible for Romeo and Juliet's unfortunate catastrophe was Friar Lawrence due to his actions and choices which escalate the tragic events in the plot. Romeo's hamartia Shakespeare structured his tragic plays to include the protagonist's hamartia to drive them to their sorrowful death. Romeo's impulsive infatuation towards Juliet, even after discovering that she was a Capulet, was his first step into the play's staircase of catastrophe; his fatal flaw. In Act 1 Scene 2, Shakespeare demonstrates Romeo's tenacious infatuation with Rosaline using metaphors. When Benvolio compares Rosaline to a crow and the other young ladies at the ball as swans, as a way of inviting Romeo to the ball, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Hamlet Conflict "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.–Confucius" For as long as humans have lived with each other on this earth there has been conflict and war between us all whether it was because of resources, money, and or power someone has killed someone to get what they wanted even if they had to kill their only brother to get it.This is what happened in the story of Hamlet, Hamlet's father was killed by his uncle; Claudius presumably because he wanted to be king himself and to marry his brother's wife. This made Hamlet depressed and miserable because his father died and his mother married his uncle straight away. Then later on in the story theghost of hamlets father shows up and tells him that his uncle Claudius killed him. At first Hamlet was very calm and rational about the whole ordeal, he even made a plan to try and see if the ghost was telling the truth. However once he found out that the ghost was indeed telling the truth hamlet started to obsess more and more over killing Claudius that he didn't care who he had to kill or who he had to hurt in order to kill him. This was very obvious in the scene where hamlet accidently killed Polonius. "Help, help, ho!...show more content... help, help, help! HAMLET How now! a rat? QUEEN GERTRUDE O, what a rash and bloody deed is this!" Because of Hamlets rash decision to pull out his sword and stab through the curtain he killed an innocent man and didn't even feel any remorse about killing him he just took the body and hid it.This was no longer about avenging his father and saving his mother it was more like his own personal vendetta to kill Claudius and exact his own style of justice in other words vigilantism. At the beginning of the semester I thought a good writer was someone who used good word choice and who could use an effective writing theme for an essay. I was so utterly wrong, a good writer is someone who can evoke emotion, connect ideas and effectively relate to others. They use peers for feedback and always revise their work. A good writer is someone who believes that their work is never finished, it is more than just someone who can tie a few ideas back into their original thesis statement. I chose to write my opinion piece on if NASA should get more funding from the federal budget. Once everyone finished their drafts, we had peer groups look over it. • 10. Analytical Essay: The Issue Of Obesity Obesity is huge problem in the twenty–first century, but the people that have control over this do not care. In a materialistic society, money is everything. In food corporations, it appears that profit is also everything. Of course, this applies to their marketing strategies. Corporations have to be more for the consumer, or else they would have no business. However, consumers are still being tricked by these corporations. Granted that many corporations may offer low prices, decent tasting products, and great inventory of product, consumers fall for this as opposed to other products that are much healthier. It should not be this way. The activities offood and marketing corporations must change in order for the issue of obesity to change for the better. The attitude of marketing groups is a huge reason why obesity is such a...show more content... Before there was a call to break these groups, the marketing world ran as it pleased. This would refer to the years prior to the mid–1970s. It is odd how marketing was extremely laissez– faire back then, but the majority of consumers were in rather decent health (Soechtig 2014). In fact, Katie Couric, the narrator of Fed Up, mentions that obesity would affect only around five percent of children during this time (2014). Still, many people saw an issue with this statistic. A separate committee in the United States Senate worked on a plan to help tackle the way food was being processed during the mid–1970s (Soechtig 2014). Their work was called the McGovern Report, which was named after the committee's chairman George McGovern (Soechtig 2014). The report took note of common dietary issues and it attempted to give better habits in eating certain processed foods. Unfortunately, for consumers, food and marketing corporations fired back, and the original ideas to the McGovern report were trashed. The many companies that complained realized that this report would cause a huge loss in profit. One of the center points to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Macbeth Analytical Essay In an effort to achieve, it is often in literature that the protagonist learns to accept his or her currently fortuitous circumstances and rather than ambitiously seek what he or she wants, the protagonist acquires what they need. This is a way in which an author can teach a moral lesson about the ill fate of those bridled by ambition, hubris, greed, etc., without being overtly sententious. Shakespeare, whether by intention or coincidence, wrote in a similar sense in regards to some of his most famous and renowned tragedies. Often his works reflect a sense of morality, though rather than the protagonists realizing the mistakes, their flaws become fatal and only after their actions take their grievous course do they acknowledge their misjudgements....show more content... Hamlet, one of Shakespeare's most beloved protagonists, shares character traits with well crafted villains. Though he is supposed to be a tragic hero, he wittingly and cruelly hurts the people close to him in his despair and thirst for revenge. Towards the end of the play he claims he loved Ophelia more than her own brother did, a brother who did not play with her emotions and use her for his own gain and bloody goals. Even if Hamlet did truly love Ophelia, he manipulated and viciously abused her feelings, trust, and confidence, something one would find in a power–imbalanced relationship where one is a villain and the other a victim. His downfall, though, is his play at madness. He chooses to donne a facade of insanity in order to take revenge for his father's sake, but meanwhile compromises his authority and ability to be taken seriously. Had he rather been subtle and not abrasively distance himself from every potential ally, perhaps he would not have met such a gruesome end. His own actions and selfish willingness to do anything to satisfy his own lust for revenge was the direct cause of his death. His brash murder of Polonius, his alienation of Ophelia, his disturbing confrontation and aggression towards his mother all lead to his death and the death of other innocent people. • 12. Essay on Personality Analysis Abstract The purpose of this paper is to discuss characteristics of my personality. The main focus of this paper will be how my personality has developed over time. As I age and encounter new and different experiences, my personality has adapted and developed further. This paper will give an in–depth exploration into the people and events that have influenced my personality. Personality is defined as "a) the sum total of the physical, mental, emotional, and social characteristics of an individual. b) the organized pattern of behavioral characteristics of the individual" (Dictionary.com, 2010). Whether we realize it or not, personality defines us as people. There are many facets to my personality,...show more content... Once the human element is taken away, I can find myself being open. I do not see my classmates face to face so I can allow myself to say things that I ordinarily would not do or say. As I have gotten older, some of the introversion has faded to a certain extent, but it is still present. Through my job as a Special Education Teacher, I have had to overcome a majority of my introversion so I can effectively do my job. On any given day, I will have to speak to not only my students but also the office staff, coworkers, and possibly some of the children's parents. Conversation goes both ways, so to be successful at my job; I would have to be willing to be open and communicate with others more. I also have to realize that I need to make the first step sometimes. Not everyone is going to come to me; there are times I am going to have to go to others. Another characteristic of my personality is care. Despite my ever–present introversion, I have always harbored a deep care for most people. Early in my childhood, my parents taught the importance of caring for others. Throughout my life, I have always put others before myself. Sometimes I do this out of genuine care for the other party, but other times, I find myself doing this so the other Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. My Writing Assignment Analysis Writing is part of our daily lives, especially in school. We depend on literature and writing for assignments and sneakily talking to friends across the building. It is something we wouldn't be able to function without. That doesn't mean writing is always easy. When I open up a book I expect to be dragged into the story whether I want to be there or not. Authors live to write extraordinary pieces of literature that their readers don't want to put down. They can do this because they are amazing writers. In my opinion a piece of writing cannot be good without an author that is beyond good. So many things in the writing must blend together to make a story. Everything from the words and grammar to punctuation play a part in making an incredible piece. I believe my strengths are my ability to throw words onto the page and my ability to keep my writing flowing. But with strength comes weakness. I have a hard time with punctuation. I question is there should be a semicolon or a comma or maybe nothing at all. I struggle with finding a new word instead of repeating myself. • 16. Analytical Essay Othello Shakespeare is prominent in his use of recurring themes throughout his works, particularly those of love, death, and betrayal. All these themes are present in Othello. Most dominant, however, are manipulation and jealousy. Jealousy runs the characters' lives in Othello from the beginning of the play, when Roderigo is jealous of Othello because he wishes to be with Desdemona, and to the end of the play, when Othello is furious with jealousy because he believes Cassio and Desdemona have been engaging in an affair, but manipulation the prominent action that fuels the jealousy within Othello. Some characters' jealousy is fashioned by other characters. Iago is involved in much of this, creating lies and implementing confusing situations....show more content... He is clever in his diction to avoid confrontation that can easily erupt. An example of Iago's manipulation is when he and Roderigo confront Brabanzio about his daughter. Brabanzio does not believe what the two say about Desdemona, calling it ridiculous, and he becomes angry because he has been woken up in the middle of the night. Roderigo immediately starts to explain, which only angers Brabanzio even more. Iago, on the other hand, responds by actually complimenting Brabanzio. Brabanzio yells, "Thou art a villain" to which Iago responds, "You are a senator". The father is taken aback by this surprising comment and it causes him to step back and re–examine the situation, which eases his anger and causes him to believe the two storytellers, especially when he finds Desdemona missing from her bed chamber However, along with his word choice, Iago is clever at the timing of what he says. He knows exactly what to say and when to say it to incite jealousy within anyone he wishes. He uses this particularly well with Roderigo and Othello. An example of Iago's timing of jealousy is when he speaks to Roderigo of the suspicions regarding Desdemona's love for Othello. "Mark me with what violence she first loved the Moor but for bragging and telling her fantastical lies. To love him still for prating? Let not thy discreet heart think it. Her eye must be fed". Two essays on analytical psychology Jung's Two Essays on Analytical Psychology includes the works The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind and The Relation of the Ego to the Unconscious, which are 1928 revisions of previously written papers. Jung, who was Freud's well–known disciple from 1909 to 1914, held ideas different from Freud's and Adler's that eventually led to personal differences between them, particularly with Freud; their followers have continued these differences. One of the point of disagreement is Jung's opinion that Freud's concept of the libido is too concerned with sexuality and that Adler's will to power is also too simplistic. Alternatively to Freud, he calls the libido the basic tank...show more content... On the other hand, Freud and Adler had difficulty in refusing the development of both humanity and the individual and were rigid in their beliefs. Jung believed that psychic energy had its foundation in the tension of opposites; this energy could only be used when the proper gradient was found. The introverted personality type focuses on the subject while the extraversion type focuses on the object; however, these two types are rare observed in their unadulterated state. Moreover, the dynamics of a relationship between individuals who retain contradictory personality types was examined by Jung. Alternatively, to contrast with the concepts of Freud and Adler, they describe neuroses as sometimes allocating useful adaptive functions. The Unconscious in the Normal and Pathological Mind Jung considers and discusses the concept of the collective unconscious as well as its role in the process of transference within psychotherapy. He suggests that the traditional method of dream analysis which must be followed by a discussion when it is believed that the symbols presented originated in the collective unconscious. • 19. Textual Argument Analysis Through the argumentative essay my skills in using textual evidence improved greatly. Before this essay I had never had to cite quotes using MLA format. I struggled with this not only in my works cited page but in the essay itself as well. If the presentation of the quote is incorrect why would the quote itself be? With this in mind I found the errors in my argumentative essay and fixed them. In one case I had cited Major's experiment as Thoreau's. This was a simple misunderstanding but none the less it takes away from the paper when a strong point was being made. The large amount of possible textual evidence allowed me to make a strong argument. With so much to pick from I could find text to match every bit of my own argument against the technology. • 20. Hamlet Analytical Essay Commonly regarded as the Bard's most popular work during his lifetime, Hamlet(1603), the "Mona Lisa of literature" in the eyes of T.S. Eliot, has retained its allure and universal appeal throughout history. The play itself portrays the troubled court of Denmark as an almost allegory for the late Elizabethan era, reflecting the ubiquitous sense of existential anxiety within English society brought on by political instability and religious conflict. Moreover, by appropriating revenge tragedy conventions such as the Machiavellian villain, meta–theatre and madness, Shakespeare explores the political, moral and individual corruption plaguing the tragedy's eponymous hero. In doing so, the play moves beyond the dissection of contemporary concerns...show more content... According to feminist critic Linda Bamber, Gertrude is a character going through a "period of political danger" and one of "ambiguous morality" – not the "disgustingly sensual" and corrupt "creature" Hamlet perceives. Hamlet's ad hominem attacks against his mother and her morality, however, are reasonable in Shakespeare's society, which, headed by a "Virgin Queen", places an unparalleled emphasis on female chastity. In fact, Hamlet becomes increasingly disillusioned with his world when his mother's "o'erhasty marriage" betrays the ideal image of womanhood and motherhood. This corruption of family values inspired Hamlet's detestation of his mother and the inclusion of her foul actions in his direction of "The Murder of Gonzago". A genre convention of revenge tragedies, this meta–theatrical portrayal of Gertrude reflects Hamlet's disappointment in her actions and equates her moral corruption with Claudius' political villainy. Also in accordance with the genre, verisimilitude is used to develop dramatic tension through the audience's confusion about what is real and what is false – echoing the moral ambiguity inherent to Gertrude's character. In a personified statement about acting and the nature of the theatrum mundi, Hamlet states that "the purpose of playing...was and is...to hold as 'twere the mirror up to nature", supporting the interpretation that his hatred for his mother was projected onto the negative portrayal of the "Player Queen". Thus, this disappointment in his mother's betrayal that symbolises the moral corruption of his society further motivates Hamlet's revenge, while simultaneously adding to his confusion regarding the governing philosophies of his Get more content on HelpWriting.net
