What is Anxiety? Essay
Anxiety is a feeling and emotion of excessive and prolonged worry, a sense of dread and
generalized tension. Fear and anxiety are similar emotions but have important differences. While
fear is based on a specific threat and is relatively short, anxiety has no definite basis and often
prolonged. We all experience anxiety at some level. Students feel anxious when taking an exam.
You may feel apprehensive about going out on a blind date. Many people are scared of delivering
a speech. Many situations in everyday life evoke anxiety. This means that anxiety is a normal
occurrence and is part of a human being's strategy to cope with life. Anxiety is useful because it
makes us more alert to danger, increases our focus, and improves our...show more content...
The individual loses control and feels overwhelmed with anxiety to such extent as losing his or
her job and developing relationship problems. Cause of Anxiety Anxiety is caused by physical
and psychological factors. Medical conditions such as heart problems, lung diseases (e.g. COPD
or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and thyroid conditions can cause anxiety. Medications
like corticosteroids and drugs such as cocaine and amphetamine can also trigger anxiety. On the
other hand, anxiety can be caused by stressful situations, traumatic experience and learned
behavior (children can learn negative attitudes and maladaptive behaviors from their parents). For
example, victims of a terrorist attack or a tornado disaster are so traumatized by the experience
that they later develop symptoms of anxiety. Some people are more vulnerable compared to others
in developing anxiety based on their genes, upbringing and life experiences. These people are more
likely to develop anxiety disorders. Triggers expose their inherent predisposition to having anxiety.
Types of Anxiety Disorders Experts have differentiated the kinds of mental disorders that arise from
anxiety. Phobias are excessive fear of specific objects or events (e.g. fear of heights, fear of spiders).
Social phobia refers to fear of interacting with other people and subsequent withdrawal from social
activities. Generalized

Essay about Suicide
Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it
will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million
youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1
/3, actually succeeded.
Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an
illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and
sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no
surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide
is now responsible for more deaths...show more content...
Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes
producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may
have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good
grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of
wanting to die.
People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that
they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant
unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered
easily, or has a severe lost of energy.
For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day.
Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or
disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill
themselves.
Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they
feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate
their pains through

Minecraft Essay
Minecraft is a game where the player uses their imagination to shape the world around them using
the resources they find. In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the
trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn't even been
released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man,
Markus "Notch" Persson, and this is his story. What makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that
it was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a
company. He started to work on Minecraft in his free time but after a giant popularity spike he
realized that it could be a hit, so he quit his job and began...show more content...
The game sells around 10,000 copies per day. It has become a cultural phenomenon and on
January 12, 2011 sales passed the one million mark, but they continued to rise. With popularity
increasing, big name comics like "Penny Arcade" and "Hejibits" discovered the game too and
published comic strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000
a day and continues to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang
has 10 employees. Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl
Manneh, Tobias Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. These few
people make up the team that continues to work towards Minecraft's future. But with so few
employees things take time. Even though the game has not been officially released, people who
buy the game get a copy of what it is right now as the updates are being pushed out. With such
success Mojang is the target of some heavy criticism from blogs, critics, and even their own fans.
One speculation from fans is that Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it
truly is a one hit wonder? Will the company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will
they join a publisher in order to stay afloat and lose their title of "indie?" Another speculation
concerns Mojang's next game that has absolutely nothing to do with Minecraft, not even in the same
genre. What if nobody likes the game? What

The Reformation Essay
The Reformation
Religious ideas have developed from every society known since the Sumerians, with theological
ideas evolving as communities progressed and changed. Throughout recorded history there have
been dissenters and revolt to every religious institution. However, the Reformation of the sixteenth
century religious institutions led to changes in social, political and cultural life that have profoundly
effected Western Civilization (McKay, Hill, Buckler, A History of Western Society, page 451).
By the early sixteenth century, church and state had become inextricably intertwined. Both factions
were removed from the greatest percentage of the population by wide margins in education,
nutrition, mobility, and income....show more content...
Martin Luther himself was a member of the Catholic church, a trained priest. Luther was literate,
educated, trained by the Church, but also, the son of a lower–class miner who empathized with and
was respected by peasants. The theological issues questioned by the "Protestants" were primary to
the faith and power held by the Church. First, is salvation attained by faith and good works, as the
Catholic Church maintained (and profited from by selling "indulgences" as good works), or by
faith alone as Luther asserted. Second, does authority over the people rest with the Church or on the
Word of God (the Bible) alone, as interpreted by the individual. This idea

directly questioned the authority of the Church. Third, does the Church consist of the hierarchical
clergy of the Church or the community of Christian believers. Fourth, is the monastic life superior
to secular life, or do all vocations have equal merit, as Luther argued. Theology was adapting from
one dictatorial faith ruling the masses to different sects empowered by their individual faith and
better suited to their society. As a leader of peoples yearning for salvation, Luther's revolt, which led
to the secularization of Christianity, is more of a progression of Christianity, than a "protest."
By 1521 Luther had a vast number of

Myself As An Artist
I am a artist. A artist is a person who enjoys practicing there creativity though a range of different
mediums on different types of canvases, no matter the skill set of that person. When you hear the
word artist you think of a person who draws, and paints every chance they get because they love
the idea of creating something new. But when I think of myself as an artist I don't see that I see a
person who loves to paint and draw, well draw mostly, but only because she is doing it for other
reasons like for a grade or something. In my case it is for a grade. Every since I have been taking
an art class i have learned to put my creativity into a piece of art that I have to turn in to a teacher.
I no longer fine myself drawing or scathing in my free time anymore like when I was a little kid.
Now I draw because I have to. Even though I do see myself as an artist, I don't feel like one
sometimes. I mean what is the definition of an artist anyway? Is it a person who sits and draws
all day because they love it or some one who is supposed to draw or paint for the fun of it, for the
enjoyment that you like to create something beautiful. For instance, I had showed my cousin
some of my art work and she said that I was really good and that I should go to an art school when
I'm older but I caught myself thinking that why did I even create those pieces, would I still have
made those pieces if I weren't getting graded for them. When she had said that it brought back
memories of me when I was

What is Stress? Essay
Stress is something that affects many people each and every day. Life is full of hassles,
deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For some people stress is so common it is a way of life.
Stress can be very harmful and or helpful. It could help motivate you to meet a deadline and
perform a task under pressure. Stress can also be very harmful, such as memory problems,
moodiness, aches and pains, and eating more or less.
So what is stress? Stress is a normal physical response that happens when you feel threatened or
upset. When you feel that you are in danger whether it is real or imaged. Your body has a response
when stress occurs and it is a way of actually protecting you. Many times, stress helps people stay

Stress can affect the mind, body, and behavior. These affects could cause your relationships with
others can be affected with your girlfriend, parents, or anyone else who is significant in your life.
Stress has many different symptoms the most often and most common is having a headache. On
your body the effects of stress are muscle tension or pain, chest pain, and fatigue. The effects of
stress on your mood is anxiety, restlessness, and lack of motivation or focus. Finally, the effects of
stress on your behavior is overeating or under eating, drug or alcohol abuse, and social withdraw.
Since anyone at any age can be stressed there is no certain population that is effected the most. I
would say that teenagers get stressed easily due to school, spots and or jobs. The thing that
stresses most high school student out is picking and choosing what they are going to do after
high school and what college they will be going to if any. People a little bit older after college could
be stressed by trying to find a job or trying to find or support a family. Older people could be stressed
if they are running out of money but besides that older people are probably the least stressful people
in are population.
Stress is not only affected in the work place and at home, it is also affected during sports. There is a
ton of pressure in many high school sports especially individual sports. Stress is the body's way of

Servant Leadership Essay
Servant Leadership
What is it? The phrase "Servant Leadership" was coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in The Servant as
a Leader, an essay he first published in 1970 ("What is servant," ). The servant leader serves first,
while aspiring to lead second. The servant leader serves the people that he or she leads, implying
employees are an end in themselves rather than a means to organizational purpose or bottom–line.
Servant leadership is meant to replace a command and control, top–down, model of management.
Servant leadership encourages collaboration, trust, foresight, listening, and the ethical use of power
and empowerment. A few famous examples of servant leaders are George Washington, Gandi and
Caesar Chavez.
Key Principles In a...show more content...
8.Stewardship
Greenleaf's view of all institutions was one in which CEO's, staff, directors and trustees all play
significant roles in holding institutions in trust for the greater good of society.
9.Commitment to the Growth of People
Leaders believe people have an intrinsic value beyond tangible contributions as workers. As a result,
genuine interest in the spiritual, professional and personal growth of all employees is demonstrated.
10.Building Community
Leaders seek to identify a means for building a sense of community among those who work in a
given institution.
Differences from Other Styles In the approach on general leadership characteristics, the
fundamental difference is authentic leaderships strive to be "real", whereas servant leaders strive
to be "right." Servant leadership is a style that lays down a set of characteristics that all leaders are
supposed to emulate to attain success, and tries to shape the character and personality of the leader.
On the other hand, authentic leaders tend to rely on their own unique set of experiences and style
that has been learned and developed throughout their career. The main difference between servant
and authentic styles, when applying into practice, is the serving of others. One of the primary
applications is to give priority to the interest of others. Servant leaders exercise their duty

Essay about the human brain
In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't
the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how
complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has
main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia
holds the lentiform and the caudate.
The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain
on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the
right hemisphere. The left hemisphere has about the same areas as the right hemisphere. The only

The corpus callosum is a bundle of nerves that connects the two hemispheres. The area that passes
and processes information concerning touch, pain, temperature, and pressure on skin is the
thalamus. The limbic system controls your behavior and emotions. It is involved in emotions such
as fear, rage, pleasure, and sorrow. In the prefrontal area of the frontal lobe emotional traits are
controlled. In the temporal lobe expressed behavior is controlled. The parietal lobe discriminates
sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves
going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray
area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts
out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual
cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for
analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and
making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The
cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain.
If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion
has changed after reading his paper. It is amazing how god has created the brain to have so many

Essay on The Meaning of Life
The Meaning of Life
My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from
which one can draw meaning, if indeed such meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there
can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned
above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not
to be confused with the idea that life has no meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there
is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than define
life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so.

Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or
great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life
meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or
her role."
At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its
catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have
become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in
any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62,
'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident
is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide
range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in
humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be,
laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored.
Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those
emotions are generated from the chain reactions created endlessly in

Essay about networks
Improving Network Performance
Nowadays, it seems that everyone has a computer and is discovering that communication
technologies are necessary. E–mail, Internet, and file transferring has become a part of the modern
world. Networks allow people to connect their computers together and to share resources. They allow
people to communicate and interact with each other. The days of the lone PC are diminishing.
At the same time, computers are getting faster than ever. The most powerful PC five years ago
couldn't be sold for half of its original price today. This poses some problems to the consumer.New
technologies can't be driven by older technology. As innovations continue to be invented, the

Modems, a popular communications device, typically have throughput rates from 9600 baud (See
Glossary) to 28800 baud. Modems use an RS232 or serial port connection.
One solution to this transmission speed is the parallel or Centronics port. This port transmits eight
bits at a time instead of one with a serial port, which is how they got their names. Because it sends
eight bits at a time, a parallel port can achieve transfer rates of up to 40,000 bits or 5000 characters
a second (Seyer 64). Parallel ports are commonly used to connect to printers and external storage
devices.
The main problem with modems and parallel ports is that only two computers can be connected at
one time. Networks were invented to solve this. They allowed a group of computers to
communicate and to share resources such as hard disk space and printers. Different types of
networks have different throughput rates, but all are higher than either serial or parallel ports. The
type of network used at Banks High School is an Ethernet network with software from Novell. This
network has the capability of supporting transfer rates up to ten megabits per second (Bennett 1).
Although this seems like a lot, remember that all of the computers on the network are using this
connection at the same time and each computer has to share with every other computer. There are a
few ways to speed up a slow Ethernet network, however. Splitting the responsibility from one server
to many is one way, and using more than one

Essay on Relationships
Whether it occurs in the home, at work, or many other places, human beings maintain relationships
everywhere they go. People have different types of relationships. A person keeps a relationship with
their mother, pastor, friend, and boss, but those relationships are all different. There are many

amount of time spent, amount of intimacy, types of activities participated in, and dependability of the

This form of relationship is purely for entertainment and not for reliability.Another necessary

a person is involved with at their workplace. This type of relationship includes bosses, co–workers,

relationships are purely business. Intimacy should be kept at a minimum to maximize work

Dependability and reliability is an important factor, but limited strictly on job related issues. The

The Power of Language Essay examples
The Power of Language Language plays an important role in communication by bringing people
together and enriching their relationships. Language can also alienate those who do not speak it
properly, or at all, from those who do. The essays, Mother Tongue, by Amy Tan, best known for
her book, The Joy Luck Club, and Se Habla Espanol, by Tanya Barrientos, delve into the many
powers that language holds. These essays reflect how by not speaking a language in proper form
and by not speaking a language at all, affects the lives of the subjects of the stories. People who can

condescending smile from the guidance counselor when you said you planned on becoming a

have bad jobs. These stereotypes are reasons why Barrientos did not want to be called Mexican
and never wanted to learn Spanish. If diversity had been celebrated when Barrientos was a child,
as it is celebrated and honored now, she would have grown up speaking Spanish and being proud of
her heritage. Children are very impressionable and tend to take on others' opinions as their own, but
as they grow older, they develop a greater understanding and perspective of the way things are and
the way they should be. As adults, both Tan and Barrientos learned to accept and embrace the
languages that previously embarrassed them. Barrientos immersed herself in her Mexican heritage
and enrolled in many Spanish classes. With each enrollment, she faced yet another stereotype that
came with being of Mexican ethnicity; her instructors thought she should already know Spanish
since she was Latina. Barrientos is now determined to learn her native language. Tan has learned to

  • 1. What is Anxiety? Essay Anxiety is a feeling and emotion of excessive and prolonged worry, a sense of dread and generalized tension. Fear and anxiety are similar emotions but have important differences. While fear is based on a specific threat and is relatively short, anxiety has no definite basis and often prolonged. We all experience anxiety at some level. Students feel anxious when taking an exam. You may feel apprehensive about going out on a blind date. Many people are scared of delivering a speech. Many situations in everyday life evoke anxiety. This means that anxiety is a normal occurrence and is part of a human being's strategy to cope with life. Anxiety is useful because it makes us more alert to danger, increases our focus, and improves our...show more content... The individual loses control and feels overwhelmed with anxiety to such extent as losing his or her job and developing relationship problems. Cause of Anxiety Anxiety is caused by physical and psychological factors. Medical conditions such as heart problems, lung diseases (e.g. COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and thyroid conditions can cause anxiety. Medications like corticosteroids and drugs such as cocaine and amphetamine can also trigger anxiety. On the other hand, anxiety can be caused by stressful situations, traumatic experience and learned behavior (children can learn negative attitudes and maladaptive behaviors from their parents). For example, victims of a terrorist attack or a tornado disaster are so traumatized by the experience that they later develop symptoms of anxiety. Some people are more vulnerable compared to others in developing anxiety based on their genes, upbringing and life experiences. These people are more likely to develop anxiety disorders. Triggers expose their inherent predisposition to having anxiety. Types of Anxiety Disorders Experts have differentiated the kinds of mental disorders that arise from anxiety. Phobias are excessive fear of specific objects or events (e.g. fear of heights, fear of spiders). Social phobia refers to fear of interacting with other people and subsequent withdrawal from social activities. Generalized Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Essay about Suicide Someone, somewhere, commits suicide every 18 minutes. You might never be able to tell who it will be, it could be the person sitting right next . Statistics reveal that approximately three million youths, between 12–18, have either thought about or attempted suicide in the past year. More than 1 /3, actually succeeded. Only in the past two decades, have depression and suicide been taken seriously. Depression is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. Depression affects the way a person eats and sleeps, feels about themselves, and the way they think of the things around them. It comes as no surprise to discover that adolescent depression is strongly linked to teen suicide. Adolescent suicide is now responsible for more deaths...show more content... Adolescence is a stressful experience for all teens. It is a time of physical and social changes producing rapid mood swings from sadness to elation. Even an emotionally healthy teenager may have the constant fear of not being good enough, not making the varsity team, or getting good grades. Special situations such as a parents divorce can trigger intense sadness and feelings of wanting to die. People who usually experience depression, can seem fine. But there are many key signs to show that they are depressed. Such as, change in school performance, eating habits change, constant unhappiness, low self esteem, guilt, social isolation, inability to concentrate, irritable or angered easily, or has a severe lost of energy. For a teen suffering from severe depression, has feelings of worthlessness that dominates their day. Despair is ever present and emotional pain feels like it will never end. Any situation of anger or disappointment may cause the teen to cross the line from wanting to die, to actually trying to kill themselves. Many of them feel pains inside of them, that they can't describe when someone asks them how they feel. They just know that they are sad, or angry, or upset. Many teenagers will try to communicate their pains through Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Minecraft Essay Minecraft is a game where the player uses their imagination to shape the world around them using the resources they find. In the world everything is shaped like a block or a cube, this includes the trees, the dirt, the water, the clouds, even the sun, everything. This simple game hasn't even been released yet but has already sold over one million copies. Minecraft was created by one man, Markus "Notch" Persson, and this is his story. What makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that it was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a company. He started to work on Minecraft in his free time but after a giant popularity spike he realized that it could be a hit, so he quit his job and began...show more content... The game sells around 10,000 copies per day. It has become a cultural phenomenon and on January 12, 2011 sales passed the one million mark, but they continued to rise. With popularity increasing, big name comics like "Penny Arcade" and "Hejibits" discovered the game too and published comic strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000 a day and continues to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang has 10 employees. Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh, Tobias Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. These few people make up the team that continues to work towards Minecraft's future. But with so few employees things take time. Even though the game has not been officially released, people who buy the game get a copy of what it is right now as the updates are being pushed out. With such success Mojang is the target of some heavy criticism from blogs, critics, and even their own fans. One speculation from fans is that Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it truly is a one hit wonder? Will the company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will they join a publisher in order to stay afloat and lose their title of "indie?" Another speculation concerns Mojang's next game that has absolutely nothing to do with Minecraft, not even in the same genre. What if nobody likes the game? What Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Reformation Essay The Reformation Religious ideas have developed from every society known since the Sumerians, with theological ideas evolving as communities progressed and changed. Throughout recorded history there have been dissenters and revolt to every religious institution. However, the Reformation of the sixteenth century religious institutions led to changes in social, political and cultural life that have profoundly effected Western Civilization (McKay, Hill, Buckler, A History of Western Society, page 451). By the early sixteenth century, church and state had become inextricably intertwined. Both factions were removed from the greatest percentage of the population by wide margins in education, nutrition, mobility, and income....show more content... Martin Luther himself was a member of the Catholic church, a trained priest. Luther was literate, educated, trained by the Church, but also, the son of a lower–class miner who empathized with and was respected by peasants. The theological issues questioned by the "Protestants" were primary to the faith and power held by the Church. First, is salvation attained by faith and good works, as the Catholic Church maintained (and profited from by selling "indulgences" as good works), or by faith alone as Luther asserted. Second, does authority over the people rest with the Church or on the Word of God (the Bible) alone, as interpreted by the individual. This idea THE REFORMATION WAS A GREAT MILESTONE ON THE ROAD TO PROGRESS Page Two directly questioned the authority of the Church. Third, does the Church consist of the hierarchical clergy of the Church or the community of Christian believers. Fourth, is the monastic life superior to secular life, or do all vocations have equal merit, as Luther argued. Theology was adapting from one dictatorial faith ruling the masses to different sects empowered by their individual faith and better suited to their society. As a leader of peoples yearning for salvation, Luther's revolt, which led to the secularization of Christianity, is more of a progression of Christianity, than a "protest." By 1521 Luther had a vast number of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Myself As An Artist I am a artist. A artist is a person who enjoys practicing there creativity though a range of different mediums on different types of canvases, no matter the skill set of that person. When you hear the word artist you think of a person who draws, and paints every chance they get because they love the idea of creating something new. But when I think of myself as an artist I don't see that I see a person who loves to paint and draw, well draw mostly, but only because she is doing it for other reasons like for a grade or something. In my case it is for a grade. Every since I have been taking an art class i have learned to put my creativity into a piece of art that I have to turn in to a teacher. I no longer fine myself drawing or scathing in my free time anymore like when I was a little kid. Now I draw because I have to. Even though I do see myself as an artist, I don't feel like one sometimes. I mean what is the definition of an artist anyway? Is it a person who sits and draws all day because they love it or some one who is supposed to draw or paint for the fun of it, for the enjoyment that you like to create something beautiful. For instance, I had showed my cousin some of my art work and she said that I was really good and that I should go to an art school when I'm older but I caught myself thinking that why did I even create those pieces, would I still have made those pieces if I weren't getting graded for them. The effects of stress on your mood is anxiety, restlessness, and lack of motivation or focus. Finally, the effects of stress on your behavior is overeating or under eating, drug or alcohol abuse, and social withdraw. Since anyone at any age can be stressed there is no certain population that is effected the most. I would say that teenagers get stressed easily due to school, spots and or jobs. The thing that stresses most high school student out is picking and choosing what they are going to do after high school and what college they will be going to if any. People a little bit older after college could be stressed by trying to find a job or trying to find or support a family. Older people could be stressed if they are running out of money but besides that older people are probably the least stressful people in are population. Stress is not only affected in the work place and at home, it is also affected during sports. There is a ton of pressure in many high school sports especially individual sports. • 7. Servant Leadership Essay Servant Leadership What is it? The phrase "Servant Leadership" was coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in The Servant as a Leader, an essay he first published in 1970 ("What is servant," ). The servant leader serves first, while aspiring to lead second. The servant leader serves the people that he or she leads, implying employees are an end in themselves rather than a means to organizational purpose or bottom–line. Servant leadership is meant to replace a command and control, top–down, model of management. Servant leadership encourages collaboration, trust, foresight, listening, and the ethical use of power and empowerment. A few famous examples of servant leaders are George Washington, Gandi and Caesar Chavez. Key Principles In a...show more content... 8.Stewardship Greenleaf's view of all institutions was one in which CEO's, staff, directors and trustees all play significant roles in holding institutions in trust for the greater good of society. 9.Commitment to the Growth of People Leaders believe people have an intrinsic value beyond tangible contributions as workers. As a result, genuine interest in the spiritual, professional and personal growth of all employees is demonstrated. 10.Building Community Leaders seek to identify a means for building a sense of community among those who work in a given institution. Differences from Other Styles In the approach on general leadership characteristics, the fundamental difference is authentic leaderships strive to be "real", whereas servant leaders strive to be "right." Servant leadership is a style that lays down a set of characteristics that all leaders are supposed to emulate to attain success, and tries to shape the character and personality of the leader. On the other hand, authentic leaders tend to rely on their own unique set of experiences and style that has been learned and developed throughout their career. The main difference between servant and authentic styles, when applying into practice, is the serving of others. One of the primary applications is to give priority to the interest of others. • 8. Essay about the human brain In this paper one will learn the different parts of the brain and their functions. Although the brain isn't the largest organ of the human body it is the most complex and controlling organ. It is amazing how complicated the brain is. The brain controls every action within and out of your body. The brain has main areas that contain different areas that have specific functions. For instance the basal ganglia holds the lentiform and the caudate. The brain isn't just "THE BRAIN" it is actually a group of many parts. They help to inform the brain on the things going on with the human body. The brain is split in to two main parts, the left and the right hemisphere. The parietal lobe discriminates sensory. The occipital lobe is where visual interpretation takes place. Pons is a crossroad for nerves going up to the cortex, to the cerebellum and then down the spinal cord. The cortex is the outer gray area where thinking takes place. The olfactory cortex receives senses from the nose that it then sorts out. The area that identifies what we see by working out movements, colors, and shapes is the visual cortex. The area that receives taste senses is called gustatory cortex. The area responsible for analyzing data, performing memory functions, learning new information, forming thoughts, and making decisions is the cerebral cortex. The motor cortex is involved in muscle movement. The cerebellum is vital when carrying out complicated, skilled movements. It is much like a mini brain. If before you read this paper you thought the brain was a "one man machine" I'm sure your opinion has changed after reading his paper. • 9. Essay on The Meaning of Life The Meaning of Life My few years on this planet have been a bit confusing. I have learned of many aspects of life from which one can draw meaning, if indeed such meaning can be drawn. I have also learned that there can be no singular meaning of life to stand for us all, or even any one of us. What I have learned above all is that trying to put words to the meaning of life is a task of absolute absurdity. This is not to be confused with the idea that life has no meaning, for life certainly has meaning. However, there is no single meaning of life to be defined – life is different for us all. Therefore, rather than define life for an entire planet, I shall try to explain what life means as I perceive it, and why it means so. ...show more content... Life is a complicated twist of suffering, laughing, and learning all merging to tell a great story – or great many stories. Based on this view, "it is not the end goal or outcome of life that gives life meaning but rather the quality of the story, the quality with which one lives out and develops his or her role." At the time, this event seemed rather insignificant and did not merit remembrance. However, its catastrophic effects on my attitude that evening may have helped to mold me into the person I have become. I learned that suffering through such an event, as childish as it was, is quite necessary in any life. Such pains are part of an interminable cycle and only generate balance in one's life (p. 62, 'Life as Suffering'). Despite my horrid time spent that evening, the laughter brought since the incident is a worthy tradeoff. Laughter is an all too necessary function of life, just as suffering and the wide range of other emotions. "Some thinkers would emphasize the importance of sophistication in humor, but others would say that laughter itself is what is important." Whatever the case may be, laughter is an important ingredient in life, and must not be taken for granted nor ignored. Despite such emotional ties to life, I have also learned that life is not only about emotions. Those emotions are generated from the chain reactions created endlessly in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Essay about networks Improving Network Performance Nowadays, it seems that everyone has a computer and is discovering that communication technologies are necessary. E–mail, Internet, and file transferring has become a part of the modern world. Networks allow people to connect their computers together and to share resources. They allow people to communicate and interact with each other. The days of the lone PC are diminishing. At the same time, computers are getting faster than ever. The most powerful PC five years ago couldn't be sold for half of its original price today. This poses some problems to the consumer.New technologies can't be driven by older technology. Modems, a popular communications device, typically have throughput rates from 9600 baud (See Glossary) to 28800 baud. Modems use an RS232 or serial port connection. One solution to this transmission speed is the parallel or Centronics port. This port transmits eight bits at a time instead of one with a serial port, which is how they got their names. Because it sends eight bits at a time, a parallel port can achieve transfer rates of up to 40,000 bits or 5000 characters a second (Seyer 64). Parallel ports are commonly used to connect to printers and external storage devices. The main problem with modems and parallel ports is that only two computers can be connected at one time. Networks were invented to solve this. They allowed a group of computers to communicate and to share resources such as hard disk space and printers. Different types of networks have different throughput rates, but all are higher than either serial or parallel ports. The type of network used at Banks High School is an Ethernet network with software from Novell. This network has the capability of supporting transfer rates up to ten megabits per second (Bennett 1). Although this seems like a lot, remember that all of the computers on the network are using this connection at the same time and each computer has to share with every other computer. There are a few ways to speed up a slow Ethernet network, however. Splitting the responsibility from one server to many is one way, and using more than one Get more content on HelpWriting.net

A person keeps a relationship with their mother, pastor, friend, and boss, but those relationships are all different. There are many different elements to analyze when discussing a relationship. Many factors are involved, such as amount of time spent, amount of intimacy, types of activities participated in, and dependability of the relationship. The first type of relationship a person typically has, are ones that are formed within a religious setting, such as a church, temple, or synagogue. This form of relationship is purely for entertainment and not for reliability.Another necessary relationship in ones relationship is the professional relationship. These relationships are the ones that a person is involved with at their workplace. This type of relationship includes bosses, co–workers, and customers. The time spent in within these relationships varies on one's hours, but for the most part, takes up the bulk of their week. There is usually no personal information shared, as the relationships are purely business. Intimacy should be kept at a minimum to maximize work efficiency. Dependability and reliability is an important factor, but limited strictly on job related issues. The work relationship is an important one, as it is generally the relationship with the strictest set of guidelines. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. • 13. The Power of Language Essay examples The Power of Language Language plays an important role in communication by bringing people together and enriching their relationships. Language can also alienate those who do not speak it properly, or at all, from those who do. The essays, Mother Tongue, by Amy Tan, best known for her book, The Joy Luck Club, and Se Habla Espanol, by Tanya Barrientos, delve into the many powers that language holds. These essays reflect how by not speaking a language in proper form and by not speaking a language at all, affects the lives of the subjects of the stories. It meant being left off the cheerleading squad and receiving a condescending smile from the guidance counselor when you said you planned on becoming a lawyer or a doctor" (561). They are not respected in a lot of communities, they live dirty, and they have bad jobs. These stereotypes are reasons why Barrientos did not want to be called Mexican and never wanted to learn Spanish. If diversity had been celebrated when Barrientos was a child, as it is celebrated and honored now, she would have grown up speaking Spanish and being proud of her heritage. Children are very impressionable and tend to take on others' opinions as their own, but as they grow older, they develop a greater understanding and perspective of the way things are and the way they should be. As adults, both Tan and Barrientos learned to accept and embrace the languages that previously embarrassed them. Barrientos immersed herself in her Mexican heritage and enrolled in many Spanish classes. With each enrollment, she faced yet another stereotype that came with being of Mexican ethnicity; her instructors thought she should already know Spanish since she was Latina.
