The Purposes of the Office of the Dean of Students

I am a firm believer in the idea that a universities mission says a lot about where emphasis and resources are placed. Let me preface and note that I had to do quite a bit of digging to find the mission of the university and expected nothing more than what I found—a large emphasis on research and the dissemenation of knowledge and knowledge acquisition as opposed to developing and molding students—i.e the whole student. Such language is missing from this statement.
The medical school is by far the largest employer of staff at the university; nearly 17 k employed there and only approx 4k employed at university central.
