Requirements to attend trip listed below each trip.
Permission slips are required and will be available in the Career Center
two weeks before each event.
Students must bring money to purchase lunch or bring own lunch.
Space is limited and available on a “first come, first served” basis. GPA,
ACT and discipline will be taken into consideration in creating list of
students attending trip.
List will be posted on Mrs. Higgins’ door three days before each trip and
emailed to the faculty.

• 1 day for juniors
• 1 day for seniors
• Let Mrs. Long know the day before.
• Coded as a school trip.
• Not counted as an absence.
• Must bring back proof you were there.

• All juniors take the ACT for free at WHS in April
• ACT recommends juniors begin taking ACT spring of junior
year or as soon as you complete Algebra II/Trig.
• Fee waivers available from your counselor or guidance
secretary if you are on free or reduced lunch. May only use
for two tests.

to apply to college? NO
• Visit the website of EVERY college you are
considering applying to.
• Go to the admission page or click on
“prospective students”.
• Find out the steps involved in their admission
& scholarship application process.
• Write down the deadline dates for admissions
and scholarships. Many four year schools have
Dec.1st deadlines!
• Begin!
17. Requesting Transcripts
• Transcripts should be requested two weeks in
advance on www.parchment.com by YOU, the
student.
• No phone calls or email requests.
• A request sent by a college or Common App
will not suffice.
• Transcripts must be “official” (mailed by the
school).
• Free until you graduate!
• Mrs. Dozier, registrar, handles all transcript
requests.

She is our very busy, hardworking registrar.
19. UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
• These may now be downloaded from iNow
Home Portal.
• USER ID & password may be obtained from
main office.
• GPA & Rank are found on the transcript
• Information may help expedite filling out
forms.
20. Submitting ACT Scores
• You must submit official test scores.
• Scores sent to us are not official scores.
• If you did not include the school on the list
when you signed up to take the test, you may
pay a fee to have your score sent to additional
schools. You will do this from your account at
www.actstudent.org.
21. FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
• January (why so late?-must have taxes done first)
• 6:00-7:00 pm
• EVERYONE should apply for financial aid in
order to be awarded scholarship
• Even though many scholarship deadlines are
earlier than financial aid deadlines, they will
NOT award the money if you fail to apply to
financial aid!!!!!
