Yunus
His early days…
He is the third of nine children, and born on
28 June 1940 to a Muslim family, in Bathua.
His father worked as a jeweler , and his
mother named Sufia Khatun.
He spent his entire childhood living in the
village but moved in 1944 to a city,
Chittagong where he studied at Chittagong
Collegiate school.
Interesting Facts: He was from Boy’s Scout.

His achievements…
Muhammad Yunus is a Bangladesh banker,
and economist, and a Nobel Peace Prize
recipient. He has developed the concept of
microcredit and microfinance. These are
loans given to entrepreneurs who are too
poor to qualify for the normal loans.
4. History and Impacts of the venture.

Muhammad Yunus has had phenomenal
success helping people lift themselves out
of poverty in rural Bangladesh by
providing them with credit without
requiring collateral. Yunus developed his
revolutionary micro-credit system with the
belief that it would be a cost effective
and scalable weapon to fight poverty.
5. History and Impacts of the
venture.
Yunus has also provided the poor people in
Bangladesh with a loan, in order for them to
go and earn their own keep. He4 provided
them with $27 dollars among 40 over
people. They still managed to earn money.
He has also asked for loans and managed
to provide more than billions to help the
needy.
