Questions related to the activity
 how was your activity? Is it amazing or challenging?
 Was it hard to fix a jumbled cut pictures? Was a picture you fixed
difficult to identify if what business considerations it belongs to?
ANSWER THIS
1. How can preparing for certain business considerations and making
use of business opportunities help in running a business?
2. Why must your business be aligned with your goals and interests?
3. What are the things in your environment that you can turn to
saleable items?
4. How can modern technology help a business become competitive?
3. Abstraction
THE BEFORE-BUSINESS AREAS OF CONSIDERATION
Before starting a business, you have to consider four important factors
to determine if you are ready for business in the first place. If you meetthese
considerations, then you have a good chance of making it in the field you
chose. The following are the four before-business considerations you have
to study:
MARKET
MONEY
PRODUCT
LOCATION
BUSINESS
OPPORTUNITY
EXAMINING YOUR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Study the before-business considerations and decide if there are still
areas that you have to prepare for. Going into business without enough
preparation could make things very difficult for you. It may slow down your
progress, or worse, it could lead you to failure even as you are starting.
If you have determined that you are indeed ready, the next thing that you
have to do is to examine the opportunities that can help your business
succeed. When evaluating your business opportunities, you have to estimate
its potentials to make future profits. There are sex areas to look into to
determine your opportunities in business:
1. Improving existing goods and services
There is a great possibility that other people are already selling
the goods or services you have chosen even before you start. If this
The Four
Before -Business
Considerations
Personal Considerations
Choose a business that will satisfy your personal goals and
interests. This will allow you to have fun while working. It will
also bring out your Personal Entrepreneurship Competencies
and increase your chances of success.
Production Considerations
Make sure that you can supply the needs of the market.
Consider the volume of the products and the amount of labor
you will need to satisfy your market.
Financial Considerations
When setting up a business, you must have enough startup
capital. You must also have enough funds to allow you to
operate even after initial losses.
Marketing Considerations
This is where environmental scanning and industrial analysis
come in. studying your market and the competition
systematically will help you prepare for possible setbacks.
is the case, you have to think of ways to improve these products to
create your own market. For example, because of the many
competing brands of detergent soap in the market, manufacturers
have to innovate, or try out new ideas, to sell their brands. Thus,
they come up “improvements” like sampaguita-scented or
calamansi-fortifies detergent soap.
2. Anticipate future needs
Always be on the lookout for the possible future needs of the
market. This way, you will be in a better position than your
competitor to offer a product when it actually becomes in demand.
If a school supplies provider hears that the students in a nearby
school will be having weaving classes, she can start stockpiling
weaving materials to be ready for the future demand.
3. Assess howneeds are satisfied
There are times when the demand for a product is too great for
the businesses to satisfy. Think of efficient ways to make highly in-
demand products available when the market needs it. To this, a
businessperson can buy an item in large quantities while asking his
suppliers to give him volume. But don’t resort to illegal practices
like product hoarding just to create a false shortage on a demand
and make a quick profit.
4. Make use ofthe available resources
Some areas have abundant materials that can be turned into
saleable articles. In Taguig City, women are trained to used water
lilies asmaterials in making handicrafts like baskets, bags, and other
items. This way, they earn money while solving the ecological
problems caused by the growth of too many lilies in rivers.
5. Take advantage ofnewtechnologies
Modern technology has helped many industries become
competitive in the market. Make use of every modern way of doing
your business that you can afford. This can increase your
productivity and allow you to give better service. You don’t have to
abandon the traditional waysof production; but upgrade it whenever
possible.
6. Educate yourself
An entrepreneur is never satisfied with what he knows, and
believes there is always room for improvement. Get up-to-date on
the latest developments in your industry. Read materials like
journals and magazines related to your business. This way, you can
get information that can help you improve your business.
Success in business largely depends on meeting certain considerations
in business and taking advantages ofbusiness opportunities.
4. Application
ASSESSING YOUR LEARNING
1. In your own words, describe the importance of the four areas to
consider before putting up a business. Write your descriptions on
the spaces below.
IMPORTANCE
Personal
Considerations
Marketing
Considerations
Production
Considerations
CAN YOU PROVE THIS?
1. Explain how existing products can become more popular to
consumers if they are packaged in new, creative ways?
2. How can modern technology help an entrepreneur become
competitive in the market?
CAN YOU APPLY IT NOW?
Note the things that you have to consider based on the situations below.
Group them according to the four areas of consideration.
1. Joan lives in a place that’s a popular tourist spot during the Lent
Season. Since many people come, she decided to sell shakes and
other refreshments.
IV. EVALUATION
Instruction:
 In a whole of intermediate paper, students will answer the
following questions provided below.
ASSESSING YOUR LEARNING SKILLS
1. Suppose you are weaving piña cloth in a traditional way? How are
you going to apply technology in this business?
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY
You have learned that improving a product can give an edge over your
competitors. Give five ways of innovating the following products. An
example is given for you.
PRODUCTS WAYS OF INNOVATION
1.Perfume Refill of
perfumes
2.Loaf bread
3.Doormat
V. AGREEMENT/ASSIGNMENT
Instruction:

Analysis Questions related to the activity  how was your activity? Is it amazing or challenging?  Was it hard to fix a jumbled cut pictures? Was a picture you fixed difficult to identify if what business considerations it belongs to? ANSWER THIS 1. How can preparing for certain business considerations and making use of business opportunities help in running a business? 2. Why must your business be aligned with your goals and interests? 3. What are the things in your environment that you can turn to saleable items? 4. How can modern technology help a business become competitive? 3. Abstraction THE BEFORE-BUSINESS AREAS OF CONSIDERATION Before starting a business, you have to consider four important factors to determine if you are ready for business in the first place. If you meetthese considerations, then you have a good chance of making it in the field you chose. The following are the four before-business considerations you have to study: MARKET MONEY PRODUCT LOCATION BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY
  • 3. EXAMINING YOUR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES Study the before-business considerations and decide if there are still areas that you have to prepare for. Going into business without enough preparation could make things very difficult for you. It may slow down your progress, or worse, it could lead you to failure even as you are starting. If you have determined that you are indeed ready, the next thing that you have to do is to examine the opportunities that can help your business succeed. When evaluating your business opportunities, you have to estimate its potentials to make future profits. There are sex areas to look into to determine your opportunities in business: 1. Improving existing goods and services There is a great possibility that other people are already selling the goods or services you have chosen even before you start. If this The Four Before -Business Considerations Personal Considerations Choose a business that will satisfy your personal goals and interests. This will allow you to have fun while working. It will also bring out your Personal Entrepreneurship Competencies and increase your chances of success. Production Considerations Make sure that you can supply the needs of the market. Consider the volume of the products and the amount of labor you will need to satisfy your market. Financial Considerations When setting up a business, you must have enough startup capital. You must also have enough funds to allow you to operate even after initial losses. Marketing Considerations This is where environmental scanning and industrial analysis come in. studying your market and the competition systematically will help you prepare for possible setbacks.
  • 4. is the case, you have to think of ways to improve these products to create your own market. For example, because of the many competing brands of detergent soap in the market, manufacturers have to innovate, or try out new ideas, to sell their brands. Thus, they come up “improvements” like sampaguita-scented or calamansi-fortifies detergent soap. 2. Anticipate future needs Always be on the lookout for the possible future needs of the market. This way, you will be in a better position than your competitor to offer a product when it actually becomes in demand. If a school supplies provider hears that the students in a nearby school will be having weaving classes, she can start stockpiling weaving materials to be ready for the future demand. 3. Assess howneeds are satisfied There are times when the demand for a product is too great for the businesses to satisfy. Think of efficient ways to make highly in- demand products available when the market needs it. To this, a businessperson can buy an item in large quantities while asking his suppliers to give him volume. But don’t resort to illegal practices like product hoarding just to create a false shortage on a demand and make a quick profit. 4. Make use ofthe available resources Some areas have abundant materials that can be turned into saleable articles. In Taguig City, women are trained to used water lilies asmaterials in making handicrafts like baskets, bags, and other items. This way, they earn money while solving the ecological problems caused by the growth of too many lilies in rivers. 5. Take advantage ofnewtechnologies Modern technology has helped many industries become competitive in the market. Make use of every modern way of doing your business that you can afford. This can increase your productivity and allow you to give better service. You don’t have to abandon the traditional waysof production; but upgrade it whenever possible. 6. Educate yourself An entrepreneur is never satisfied with what he knows, and believes there is always room for improvement. Get up-to-date on the latest developments in your industry. Read materials like journals and magazines related to your business. This way, you can get information that can help you improve your business. Success in business largely depends on meeting certain considerations in business and taking advantages ofbusiness opportunities. 4. Application ASSESSING YOUR LEARNING 1. In your own words, describe the importance of the four areas to consider before putting up a business. Write your descriptions on the spaces below. IMPORTANCE Personal Considerations Marketing Considerations Production Considerations
  • 5. CAN YOU PROVE THIS? 1. Explain how existing products can become more popular to consumers if they are packaged in new, creative ways? 2. How can modern technology help an entrepreneur become competitive in the market? CAN YOU APPLY IT NOW? Note the things that you have to consider based on the situations below. Group them according to the four areas of consideration. 1. Joan lives in a place that’s a popular tourist spot during the Lent Season.
