2. Ferrets are small, warm-blooded mammals in the weasel family . They are long in body with short
legs. Ferrets are adorable to watch , but they will steal anything that they see , and hide it as far away
as they can ! Ferrets don’t really make a lot of noises , they can only show excitement or curiosity by
letting out a strange noise . This noise can almost everytime be heard when the owner comes back
home and the ferret is really happy and wants to play . Although it may seem weird , but ferrets have
a lot of human-like features . Ferrets show clear emotions , whether it is happiness , anger , sadness ,
laziness or just boredom , ferrets are see through in terms of their emotions . Ferrets snore , sneeze ,
yawn and wash themselves every morning . Ferrets only find comfort in sleeping in a curled ball or
upside down . Once a ferret is in a deep sleep , the owner can freely move the ferret around without
any response .
3. Where do they come from ?
Ferrets probably evolved in Europe, between three and four million years ago, from
weasel-like ancestors. Although it is not clear how they looked back then , ferrets have
changed from deadly predators to small , but still dangerous creatures . Ferrets are
innocent when they are born , for the first few weeks they are blind , deaf and can barely
move . They rely on their parents or owners to provide them with food , water and
shelter . As ferrets grow , they can be tamed and serve as home pets , or deadly accurate
hunters . Ferrets run at the speed of around 36-41 mph depending on their age, size and
health.
4. Ferrets change over their lifetime , it is caused by the weather , surroundings and pure aging .
After around 3 weeks , ferrets can finally move , see

, hear and follow their mother .
Ferrets can then be
seperated from their
mother , and raised either
as home pets or as
hunters .
5. Ferrets are very lazy , they sleep 18 – 20 hours a day and don’t do any activities other
than running around , stealing stuff and trying to escape the chasing owner , they
find it fun . Ferrets do bite , but they can easily be taught not to if they are still
young . Ferrets tend to nip people ( and furniture , no idea why ) when they are really
excited , happy and playful . Ferrets are carnivors , so they live off eating meat .
However , ferret’s biggest snacks are raisins . They are given to a ferret as a treat to
being well behaved , or during training . However , ferrets have a different opinion on
what they should eat and what they shouldnt . Chocolate bars , cookies , candies ,
ANYTHING that can fit in the ferrets mouth is edible and belongs to them .
