As the first substantial step, it should… <ul><li>Provide the context for the research paper; </li></ul><ul><li>Generate questions which the researcher hopes to answer; </li></ul><ul><li>Hook the reader and establish a persuasive context for what follows; </li></ul><ul><li>Answer the questions: “What is the problem?” and “Why is this problem worth my attention?” </li></ul>
