10. Three words that define our times:
Abundance
Obsolescence
Exponential
Information has become
dynamic, growing and becoming
obsolete ….exponentially.
11. Effectively leading change requires
sharpening the contrast between
the old and the new.
Interdependence
Independence
13. What is our role in change?
“A person who is entitled to lead should
be responsible for leading.”
Sergiovanni, 2007
Rethinking Leadership
14. We have learned…
It is more than technology; it is abundance of
resources.
We can’t afford to wait until it gets simpler,
more convenient, more accessible.
Students already know how to use technology
to learn, to communicate, to live their lives.
In some cases, the student will be the teacher
and the teacher will be the student.
15. We have learned…
In a global society, we can no longer afford to
provide information from one textbook, one
genre, one point of view, limited by space,
time and geography.
The journey is challenging, but our students
are worth it.
If we work together, we can do it.
16. We have learned…
It’s a new dawn. It’s a new day. It’s a new life for all of us.
Nina Simone
17. Join me in shaping the vision
What is our vision for the future of
education in St. Clair County?
What kind of learning environments will
we create together?
