4. Imports Supervisor
Responsibilities:
Contact clients to give updates regarding their parcels through email and phone calls.
Maintain operational records including, but not limited to, dispatch locations items picked up
and/or distributed, van reports, weekly fuel reports, dispatcher log sheets; verify accuracy of
these and other records and ensure records are properly maintained.
Ensure that import (package) records are kept updated in both soft and hard copies and internal
communications to respective UPS work stations (countries) is made promptly.
Closely oversee and monitor a team of 12 couriers who are always dispatched to do door-to-door
delivery within Uganda.
Together with the Operations Manager, coordinate overall activities of the UPS (United Parcel
Services- the International arm of Daks Couriers Ltd) Department. To ensure utmost customer
satisfaction.
Managing Invoicing. Some shipments come under prepaid mode while the rest come under freight
collect mode. In the latter, the client has to be billed these charges before we attempt delivery
thus the prior invoicing.
Dispatch and follow up of parcels from the point of receipt at the airport to the point of delivery
i.e. to client.
Ensure effective and timely implementation of all daily courier operational goals inclusive of
delivery functions and on-time data entry (system update)
Develop and initiate monthly reports for partnering courier firms for example Globeflight
Worldwide and Dawnwing Couriers.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Liaise with customers/clients and the UPS worldwide team to ensure complete Customer
Satisfaction.
Orient, train and instruct new couriers and front desk staff in the safe and proper handling of
parcels, delivery schedules, parcel handover requirements, delivery forms, record keeping,
proper handling of delicate and sensitive parcels; monitor performance and provide follow-up
instruction as needed; assess their monthly performance.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for answering and routing all calls that are received at the Office, giving directions to
our offices via telephone to potential client.
Receives and tends to all stakeholders visiting the office.
Receiving parcels and tracking parcels to give and get status.
Data entry of UPS information for example proof of delivery.
To receive both internal and external customers visiting the Head office and channel them to the
respective officer. This included limiting visitors with un-authorized access or without
appointments for security purposes.
Stand in to manage the switchboard including all incoming and or outgoing calls.
In liaison with the Operations and Exports Manager, ensure that all parcels are accounted for.
Submit relevant reports to HR when required.
Support the HR- internal function on various internal campaigns.
