The document discusses the CRAP principles for designing effective visual presentations. It advocates using Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity (CRAP) to create slides that are easy to understand. A series of before and after examples demonstrate how applying these principles can improve slide clarity and readability. The slides become more scannable and help audiences better understand and remember the presented information.

Editor's Notes
Beyond making sure your visual elements contrast to ensure readibility, contrast is also important when comparing or showing different ideas. For example, if you are showing 2 different products with 2 different functions, they probably shouldn’t be placed on autoshapes of the same color.

Sometimes slide makers get carried away with emphasis. If you try to emphasize too many objects on the same slide, you risk the audience missing out on all the content. They are too busy trying to take in different colors, various fonts and effects, etc.
