The Three Laws of Robotics
(Plus Law Zero)
Law Zero: A robot will not hurt humanity, or, allow humanity to come to
harm.

Law One: A robot may not injure a human being, or, allow a human being
to come to harm, unless this would break a higher law.

Law Two: A robot must obey orders given it by human beings, except
where such orders would break another law.

Law Three: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such
protection does not break another law.
Confusing huh?
INTRO
A robot is a man made machine that copies
the actions of a creature or human. To be
a robot it has to get information from it's
   surroundings and do something physical
like move objects. Robots are also great
   at doing repetitive (boring), precise,
movements. The reason we use robots is
because it's either cheaper, easier, or the
only way to do things. In this slide show
we will talk about the different parts of
   robots and how they work.
Power Supply
                        
All robots need a power source. Most robots either have
a battery or they plug into the wall. Batteries have really
strange names carbon-zinc, lithium-ion, lead-acid, nickel-
cadmium, nickel-hydrogen, silver zinc and alkaline to
name a few. Hydraulic robots also need a pump and
pneumatic (operated by air) robots need an air
compressor or compressed air tanks. Also they can be
solar powered.
Robots can't normally smell or taste things, but they can "see" an
object or "feel" it. Some robots can "hear" as well.
The simplest way for robots to see is using a photo-electric cell. It
makes a robot convert "light energy" into electrical energy. E.g. If a
robot looks at a tool on a table, the light will bounce off it and will be
turned into electrical currents which will be transmitted into it's brain.

The touch sense can be made by robots as well with these thingy's
called "tactile sensors". The simplest kind of tactile sensor is a switch
that closes when it comes into contact with an object. When a finger
touches an object, it closes, making an electrical current go to the
brain.

Other sensors include temperature, altitude and pressure.
BRAIN SYSTEM

A robot brain is what makes it ‘think’. It commands the rest of the
body to do what it is programmed to do and operate how it’s
supposed to. It's usually a type of computer which is used to store
information about the robot and it’s surroundings. The brain system
also called the control system contains programs, data
algorithms, logic analysis and a bunch of other technical things that
make the robot do it’s job.
SOME ROBOTS YOU MIGHT HAVE
        HEARD OF

          R2 D2
         C3PO
      Optimus Prime
         Wall-e
   Asimo (a real life robot)
     Lego mindstorms
Just as your heart produces the pressure to make blood go
round your body, a battery or generator produces the pressure
or force to push electrons (really small stuff) around a circuit
which creates voltage. If you think electrons in the wires move
fast, your wrong. Believe it or not, when you turn on the light
at home the electrons in the wires move at the same speed as
a minute hand! Voltage is measured in volts, (V) but the flow of
electrons is measured in Amperes (Amps) (A).

Robots Circuitry
 Most robots are in car factories.
 People who make robots are called
  roboticists
 Robots are not able to think or make
  decisions
 The first true robot toy was
  produced in Japan.
 Robots are used a lot in surgery
  because of their precise movements.

Extra Facts
So that’s it. I hope
  you liked it!!!!

Just as your heart produces the pressure to make blood go round your body, a battery or generator produces the pressure or force to push electrons (really small stuff) around a circuit which creates voltage. If you think electrons in the wires move fast, your wrong. Believe it or not, when you turn on the light at home the electrons in the wires move at the same speed as a minute hand! Voltage is measured in volts, (V) but the flow of electrons is measured in Amperes (Amps) (A). Robots Circuitry
  • 9.  Most robots are in car factories.  People who make robots are called roboticists  Robots are not able to think or make decisions  The first true robot toy was produced in Japan.  Robots are used a lot in surgery because of their precise movements. Extra Facts
