Introduction & Definition Introduction: Work-life balance is especially important today because of the increasing number of people who are working longer hours and taking on more responsibility. This can lead to stress and burnout, which can have serious repercussions on an individual's physical and mental health. It is therefore important for individuals to make sure that they are taking the necessary steps to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Work-life balance a decade back was very different from today. People typically worked longer hours, had less flexibility in their schedules, and had to be in the office for most of their working hours. Definition: David Clutter buck defines work-life balance as being aware of different demands on time and energy, having the ability to make choices in the allocation of time and energy, knowing what values to apply to choices, and making choices. Work-Life Balance does not mean an equal balance. Trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of various work and personal activities is usually unrewarding and unrealistic.
  4. 4. Justification of study This study is conducted to know the current work-life balance at TCS & Evoke Technologies. And, to know the various factors which are contributing satisfaction level of work life and personal life. This study will allow you to know the relationship between gender and satisfaction level of work life, and the working environment impacting work-life balance.

Objectives of the study  To determine the factors that impact the employee’s work-life balance.  To study the existing system of Work-Life Balance of Employees in TCS & Evoke Technologies.  To understand the challenges, they face and the type of coping strategy they use to achieve work-family Balance.  To know how to maintain a balance in work life and personal life.  To know the factors driving moonlighting, and the impact of moonlighting on work-life balance.

Hypothesis  Null Hypothesis (H0): - There is no relation between gender and the level of satisfaction in the work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies.  Alternative Hypothesis (H1): - There is a significant relationship between gender and the level of satisfaction in the work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies.  Null Hypothesis (H0): - The working environment is not correlated to maintaining a work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies.  Alternative Hypothesis (H1): -The working environment is positively correlated to the maintaining work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies.
  7. 7. Research Methodology 3. Scope of the study This study is conducted at TATA consultancy services & Evoke Technologies, Telangana, Hyderabad, India. This study is conducted to find out the current work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies. The study is restricted to the employees in the IT department at TCS & Evoke Technologies. Work-life balance is a technique that helps personnel of an enterprise to balance their private and professional lives. Work-life balance encourages employees to divide their time based on priorities and preserve stability through devoting time to family, health, vacations, and so on along with making a career, business travel, etc. The period of this study is from 1 Dec 2022 to 30 Dec 2022. Responses are collected only from the employees working (from the office) at TCS & Evoke Technologies, Hyderabad.
  8. 8. Research Methodology 4. Sample size Sample size determination is the act of choosing the number of observations or replicates to include in a statistical sample. In this research study sample size is 100 IT employees at TCS, Evoke Technologies at different levels. 5. Simple Random Sampling: Simple random sampling is a sampling method in which members of a population are randomly selected for inclusion in a study. This method ensures that all members of the population have an equal chance of being included in the sample, which makes it one of the most commonly used methods of sampling.

The questionnaire is used as a research tool for the collection of primary data. 7. limitations of the study • Some employees were reluctant to fill out the questionnaire. • As due to the hybrid model of work from the office employees’ responses may vary from the situation when they were working in the office before the pandemic.
  10. 10. Data Interpretation Data interpretation is the process of filtering Valuable information from large amounts of data sets. Out of 17%, 11% mentioned the reason as insufficient remuneration, and 6% as enough bandwidth.
  14. 14. Major Findings • The overall satisfaction level of IT employees of TCS is neutral as per the data. Employees were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. • The average answer given by employees when asked if they get enough time to spend with their family and friends was neutral. • It was found that Family contributed the most i.e., the family was the most significant factor for happiness among the three factors family, salary, and Job, whereas it is observed that job and salary contributed neutrally to the happiness of employees. • Average employees agreed that they give neutral time for work and job as well as there was a neutral answer to the question that if they can spend quality time with their family and friends. • Another question was asked to know whether the employees get enough time to get involved with their hobbies, and physical fitness. The average answer of the employees was neutral which means, most of the employees neither agree nor disagree that they get enough time for their hobbies, physical fitness, or new learnings.

Major Findings & Recommendations • 63% strongly agreed that there is a relationship between work-life balance and organizational effectiveness. • When asked what the reasons for Moonlighting most of them answered as enough bandwidth which states that associates are neutral in balancing work and life and focusing on additional jobs. Recommendations • The work-life balance of employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies is satisfactory through this study, it is found that the work-life balance of employees is neutral. • Also, there are many programs organized by TCS & Evoke Technologies for its employees like counseling, but the company should initiate some more activities like health programs, should provide job sharing, and flexible working hours so that the employee feels closer and more familiar with the organization. • For analysis, most of the employees have requested for social functions to be conducted by organizations for destressing and better engagement and familiarization.

Conclusion • Through the study, it could be concluded that the IT employees at TCS & Evoke Technologies are neutral about their work-life balance. • There is an impact of work life balance on organizational effectiveness. • Prioritization of work, Job sharing, social events, stress management programmes can help for better work life balance. • hypothetically, there is a significant relation between gender and the level of satisfaction in terms of work-life balance.
