Hebrews 13:1-16 (Today’s NIV) Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. 4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.

Help me to always see what it is you expect of me so that I can worship you in a way that honors you most. Open my mind to your expectations so I can be your faithful child.

OUR JOURNEY THROUGH HEBREWS HAS BEEN ONE OF CONTRAST, WITH EMPHASIS ON THE NEW COVENANT BEING SUPERIOR TO THE OLD. ● Jesus is better than the Angels ● Jesus, as the Word, is better than the previous message delivered in bits and pieces ● Jesus’ role (as owner of the house) is superior to that of Moses (servant in God’s house) ● Jesus’ is a better High Priest…a better offering …and he offers a better ‘Rest’ ● Jesus is tops, supreme and absolutely worthy of our praise, worship and obedience. ● Summary…Jesus is better, better, better

APPLICATION: ● The template must never pre-empt the essence of worship. ● The wedding ceremony makes your marriage legal, but love makes it a relationship ● Baptism is commanded, but daily death-to-self living is the essence ● Going To Church is an indicator of our relationship to God, but not a guarantee ● Don’t confuse ‘tools’ for spiritual growth with spiritual growth …ready, attending, participating
