What is the goal? Essentially to keep the rebellion going
Destroying the Death Star is certainly part of it, but that really doesn't come into play until the latter half of the film.  The real goal, what everyone is most concerned with or interested in is rebelling against oppression and if they fail (consequence) they'll have to continue to live (Being) under tyranny.
Try to get them to say Darth - what does he really do to prevent the goal
