How does it work

 To develop member libraries in share principle
 Centralised database based on oracle DBMS
 Member libraries provide data by Z39.50 protocol or web
     browser
 There is a team in CAS to manage data and control data
     quality
 Member libraries can download bibliographic record
 Users in member libraries can visit Unicat system freely
Member Libraries

 Over 400 member libraries from

                                           Universities and colleges

System development strategy

 To get a funding for two years from CAS to establish a
online catalogue for print journals and books
    Functional requirement
    Application software
      Custom developed
 Data exchange format support MARC21 and CNMARC
 Give up 856 field to describe electronic linking
information, to design metadata to describe complex
     object
 Based on member libraries’ address to support
                                   IP

Question
 I find more value of Suncat in controlling data quality, it is
helpful to certify unique title of serials and to provide
  accurate information for knowledgebases
 OpenUrl router being a middleware, its benefits for service
providers and libraries are obviously excellent
 There are currently 95 Institutions who have registered
their OpenURL Resolvers with the Router. It receives in the
regions of 100,000 requests per day for routing.
   From Deo statistics by email
 It is truly indeed a popular piece of middleware,Even
though there are less than 10 OpenUrl linking resolvers
  running in China

ScienceChina (SC) - Introduction

SC is a service system of Chinese science and
 technology literature

SC is the Web-based platform that integrate
           Web-
current core chinese journal articles ,references
and relationships based on cited behavior.
Additionally, SC provide a link resolver services

SC was built in 2002,by the library of CAS, part
of National Science Digital Library Project
 (CSDL)
ScienceChina – SubDatabase

           SC consists of :
           Chinese Science Citation Database(CSCD)
           CSCD Essential Science Indicators (CSCD-ESI)
           CSCD Journal Citation Reports (CSCD-JCR)

                    CSDD CSCD-JCR
Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD)

The CSCD provides seamless access to current
  and retrospective multidisciplinary information from
approximate 1000 of the most prestigious research
  journals in China

 CSCD also provides a unique search method--
                                           method--

It receives in the regions of 100,000 requests per day for routing. From Deo statistics by email  It is truly indeed a popular piece of middleware,Even though there are less than 10 OpenUrl linking resolvers running in China
