How To Write A Character Analysis Of Dick
Dick is from a poor but decent working class midwest family. He is a ladies man and an
unreptentant con man, mostly getting along in life by what he calls "paper hanging" – writing bad
checks, although he occasionally works as a mechanic. Perry comes from a dirt poor family. His
parents were circus performers. Perry's mother was the parent he really loved, and she became
alcoholic and died, leaving the kids to deal with an abusive father. Perry likes to write and draw,
lug around items that are of sentimental value to him. Perry admires Dick's ability to con, his way
with people, and thinks him smart. Dick does not think much of Perry at all, thinks him effeminate
and silly. They learn of a "wealthy" Kansas farmer from a former inmate of Dick's

The Odyssey: A Character Analysis
The Odyssey story reborn! Highs, lows, battles with cyclopes, death, these two stories have them
all. The Odyssey is an adventurous story with lots of twists and turns, just like "O Brother Where
Art Thou" From Everett and his dapper dan, to Delmar thinking Pete was turned into a frog. In the
beginning of each story, it starts out with the muse. It was also clear in each story who the leader
was. When Everett Pete and Delmar break out of jail Everett tells them what to do just like
Odysseus. Next Everett and the boys meet up with the blind black guy they find out what their
future has in store for them, just like when Ody met the blind prophet Tiresias. The scene cuts and
we see Everett and the boys walking through the woods and they meet

Cather: A Character Analysis
In this essay, I will be discussing Cather's views on three philosophies of life and I will attempt to
draw a conclusion about the one to which she personally adheres. I have took my time and read
this book and it has been a really good one. It had many romantic points of views and lots of
naturalistic moments. Chather's character, Carl, has had lots of romantic points of view towards her
character Alexandra. They've fought, made up, and then fought again. They've made the two perfect
characters for this book. I've taken quite a huge liking to them. I can relate to many of their aspects
throughout the story. It's a shame that Carl had to move away. I surly wish he would've stayed there
with Alexandra. Maybe if he stayed with Alexandra...show more content...
For example, when Alexandra finally admitted that she was lonely made me finally realize how
strong she was. It takes a lot of guts and bravery to admit your true feelings. Another example is
when Emil came back from Mexico and out of nowhere kissed Marie on the lips even though she
was married! I never would've thought that was gonna happen. I was super happy when it did
happen though. Even though they didn't end up together, i've always liked the thought of them
being a couple even though she was married. Emil seemed like a better fit for her. Frank seemed
like a jerk to Marie. Emil on the other hand, seemed like the man who would take amazing care of
Marie and keep her happy. He seemed like the man who would love to have a family with her. He
has kept his feelings for her to himself until that very moment where it seemed perfect. He leaned
over and kissed her. His love was so very strong that he couldn't even hold it in anymore. This book
is filled with many thrills and ups and downs. It helps you relate and connect with the plot and the
characters and makes you understand the whole concept of knowing that being human isn't all
perfect all the time. It shows that you're going to cry sometimes. It shows how there is despair and
agony in life. It helps you understand what it truly means to be

Neil Mcneil: A Character Analysis
High school is too short. In the past four years, I've built up many fantastic connections, I've
experienced many different things for the first time, and I've become a very different person from
when I first walked through the doors of my one and only high school, Neil McNeil. Surely, many
defining moments of life so far have happened during my time at Neil McNeil– so it only makes
sense that many things come to mind when I ask myself: "what does Neil McNeil mean to me?"
Indeed, when I think of Neil McNeil, I think of its wonderful community and it's ambitious strive to
create an enjoyable environment for its students. The community is at Neil McNeil is centred around
the idea of brotherhood, which is something i felt deeply during my

Traits Of A Writer: A Character Analysis
Some of the traits I think I have are some what good and somewhat bad. I am a very good listener
when someone is talking, but If someone else is talking or tapping their pen I get distracted. I
work as hard as I can to a point where I get so overwhelmed with everything. Sometimes I get very
confused like I don't know how to do something or how someone did something.I don't like to ask
questions because I feel embarrassed and that I sound stupid or say something wrong. I always
get my work done on time. I try my very best in class so that I don't get in trouble and I also never
talk in class. I usually don't smile much or show emotion. I just wanna get my work done, so I'm
very focused. I'm very shy and don't really ever talk to people I've been trying to get better at It but
It's hard. When I do my work even though I try my hardest I still feel like it's not good enough. I
struggle really bad in math. I need an example in detail on how to do something, and watch them do
it. Yet all my math teachers just tell us how to do it, and half the time I don't understand what they
are talking about. I am a good writer, though well at least I think I am. I can't...show more content...

know how to. I do agree with what she said about my experience this school year, is positive and
fun among friends and supportive teachers. I feel like she really understands me and says the
things that i won't say. I like to be quiet and I don't know how to stick up for myself because I'm
afraid to hurt others feelings. I'm glad she said that if you push me to hard before I'm ready ill shut
down, because it's so true. I'm very happy with what my mother said about

Essay on Character Analysis-a Worn Path
A Woman of Amazing Character
Will–power and determination plays a major role when it comes to people accomplishing goals
and performing the tasks they are given. When a person possesses these two qualities they are
motivated, focused, will not give up easily, determined along with many other things. The word
determination is defined as, "the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose."
Will–power is, "the strength or will to carry out one's decisions, wishes, or plans." In the short story
A Worn Pathby Eudora Welty, the main character Phoenix carried out the meaning of these two
words throughout the whole story. She had experienced many road blocks during her journey, but
she did not let them stop her from reaching...show more content...
She had to be very careful at this point because one wrong move could cause her a limb such as
an arm or a leg and she was not going to let that happen. She had to do many things such as creep,
crawl, and stretch along with other things in order to make it through this fence. Once she made it
safely through the fence she was able to continue on with her journey. From this situation in the
text Phoenix seems like the type of woman who will face anything no matter how big or small the
obstacle is and will not think twice about it. Once she starts a task she has to complete it. She
refuses to turn back especially if it is for her family. Family (meaning her grandson) is of high
importance to her and she will not let anything stop her from getting what he needs.
One main obstacle that stood out in the text was when she encountered the hunter and his dog. In
this scene Phoenix was on the ground because she had fell and the hunter had showed up and
helped her up. Once he had her standing on her own two feet he had began questioning her and
telling her that she needs to go back home, but she ignored what he was saying. She knew the
reason for making this long, enduring trip and she was not going to turn back now. He (the hunter)
even went so far as to take his gun and point it directly in her face. This did not bother her nor even
scare her. She just stood still and faced him because that was all she knew how to do. After this
incident he still tried to

National Honor Society: A Character Analysis
According to google, the definition of character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an
individual. As much as I agree with the general perspective of the word, I see it as much broader.
I see character as what makes up a whole person. Character is different for everyone, it's what
makes us diverse. Maintaining good character will preserve the good qualities and attributes an
individual acquires. Throughout my life and my still growing experience, I have possessed and
gained many characteristics that have shaped who I am today. I believe that I have many strong
characteristics as to how I could be a potential member of the Nation Honor Society. From day one I
was always taught a good sense of morality. I've always been seen as an independent person,
however I'd always be open armed to work with other people as well. As a little...show more

I see myself as very committed when it comes to something that means alot to me and NHS fits
perfectly in that category. Helping others and bettering the community makes me feel better as a
whole and that's what moral I'm trying to achieve. Volunteering makes me want to do something
for the experience and the great outcome. If i can put a smile on someone's face for helping them,
I feel as if I'm doing the right thing not only for them but for myself. How I can be valuable to
NHS is simply to be dedicated and show characteristics that stand out from everyone else. Proving
not only to the society but to myself that I can persevere and challenge myself to new
opportunities is something I strive for. Lastly, a good well rounded student is another reason I
can be valuable to NHS. Keeping my grades up and participating in the topics I'm learning is a
key aspect of a person with good character. Therefore staying committed and maintaining a high
grade point average is only a few reasons as to how I can be valuable to the National Honor

Analysis Of Characters In A Jury Of Her Peers
Characters are a significant, if not the most important component of a story. They express the
emotions of relatable people, and are used by the author to influence readers to support their own
desired conclusion. Many people discuss the characters in a short story or novel, but don't actually
read for characterization. Reading for character is a higher–level skill because "analyzing
characterization is more difficult than describing plot, for human character is infinitely complex,
variable, and ambiguous" (Arp 161). Like in most interpretive fictional stories, Susan Glaspell's short
story "A Jury of Her Peers," the reader sees richness in the characterization of three women: Minnie
Foster Wright who is accused of murdering her husband, Mrs. Hale who is Minnie's childhood friend,
and Mrs. Peters the wife of the local sheriff. Through an in depth portrayal of the setting, as well as
the characters' outlooks, feelings and passions, Glaspell gradually divulges the story's real
underlying conflict and theme which is that under constant subjugation, one may choose to take
strong actions without concern of their consequences. The presentation and behavior of characters
represent what the author wants the reader to know, feel, and interpret in his/her own story.
Interpretative literature usually contains more significant and multi–faceted or round characters
whose thoughts and actions usually drive the story, while pieces of commercial literature, even ones

procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not
allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for
simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread.
My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing

many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming
better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the
little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end.
This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it
will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities
to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing,

with a job and kids, a person is a human being with thoughts, feelings and mindsets that developed
based on the trials and tribulations that they've faced in the past. I ask this question because over
the past 25 years that is all that I have been able to think of. Who am I? But that is not a question

I saw what living without authority did to us on the island. Because of that I spend every
moment that I can with my children. I correct them anytime that they show even the smallest sign
of cowardice or defiance. I teach them how important it is to face their fears like I did when I
went up the mountain to face the beast. If I hadn't had done that I would possibly still be fearing
what I thought was a beast to this day. However, I don't allow them to become to defiant. They

all that they will get from it is that if I was able to survive without my parents for so long they can

three spirits. The first of the three spirits, The Ghost of Christmas Past, showed him his childhood in

Ichabod Crane Character Analysis
Ichabod Crane's adventure related in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow demonstrates where
someone's unchecked and undesirable personality traits can lead him. Washington Irving wrote
"The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in 1820. The story describes how Ichabod Crane persistently
frightened himself by supposing he saw and heard supernatural beings. When Crane competed
with Brom Bones for a lady's love, Bones took advantage of Ichabod Crane's character flaws
scaring him out of town by impersonating the dreaded Headless Horseman. Ichabod Crane's
greed, superstition, and fearfulness resulted in his downfall. Ichabod Crane's greed hindered his
relationship with the townspeople, making some, such as Brom Bones, pleased to expel Crane
from town, and others indifferent to his leaving. Crane had a great gluttonous appetite, so he
"lived successively a week at a time" in his pupils' homes because they could not afford to house
such a gourmand (Irving 17). Moreover, he earned the distaste of the town's other men while
trying to earn the affections of Katrina Van Tassel, whom he hoped to marry because of her
wealth. He knew if the marriage occurred, many delicious meals would await him. "The
pedagogue's mouth watered as he looked upon this sumptuous promise of luxurious winter fare,"
(Irving 20). Furthermore, Ichabod Crane's greed extended even to a love of power, which he
executed over his schoolhouse. For slovenly, naughty, or lazy children, he always had his whip

A Character Analysis Of Elsa '

A Character Analysis of Elsa It is hard to hear the words "let it go" without bursting into song,
thanks to Disney's 2013 animated feature film Frozen. Derived from the Disney princess franchise,
Frozen follows two sisters, Elsa and Anna, as they inherit their family's kingdom after the sudden
and unexpected death of their parents. Elsa being the oldest of the two, is the newly crowned
queen of Arendelle, but what no one knows is that she is hiding a secret. According to Linda
Seger's article "Creating the Myth" in Signs of Life in the USA "other myths revolve around
make–believe characters who might capsulize for us the sum total of many of our journeys."
Meaning, that Elsa's story...show more content...
Another similarity comes from Elsa and her parents' reaction to her unique power. After her
power causes a near fatal accident, Elsa is forbidden by her parents to use her power. Elsa's father
tells her to "conceal it, don't feel it, and don't let it show" as he teaches her to "control" a power in
which she has no control over. She is then ostracized for being different and is kept in limited
contact with people, secluding herself in her room. The seclusion in the room is symbolic for
being "in the closet." According to an article called "What Do Pink Triangles Represent" authors
Camry Carey and Stefan Koob of University Wire state "being 'in the closet' is different for
everyone. Generally, it comes with feelings of hiding something, depending on one's reason for
choosing to stay in the closet." It goes on to say it typically comes from a feeling that the person
would be in danger if they came out. While the closet is not an actual closet, it is a metaphor for
hiding ones sexual orientation. Elsa's journey mirrors one that many LGBT people travel, she is
ostracized for being born different, and is forced into the metaphorical closet, which in the movie, is
her bedroom. Next, comparing the stages of Elsa's "coming out" and the paradigm between coming
out and peoples initial reactions. In the movie Elsa lacks control of her power, during her coronation
she gets into an altercation with her sister Anna, causing her too emit a barricade of

Character Analysis of Romeo Essay
Character Analysis of Romeo Romeo and Juliet is a tale of two star–crossed lovers who in their love
for each other were willing to sacrifice their lives. Romeo is a very temperamental person; his
character develops considerably throughout the play in various ways. In this essay I shall be
looking closely at Romeo's character, his intentions & abilities and his relationship with other
characters in the play. In the conversation between Benvolio and Montague in act 1 scene 1, we
learn that Romeo is behaving strangely and avoiding his friends, "Towards him I made, but he was

Meaning that she does not love him and she has Dian's wit. Dian is the goddess of hunting and
chasity, she avoids Cupid's arrows ; from this we learn that Rosaline has no intention of loving
him or any other man. This is further proven when Romeo confirms Benvolio's question that she
has sworn to remain a virgin. Romeo goes on to say that his love is misplaced because Rosaline
has rejected him. Romeo compares his love to Rosaline as a devote religion. His words seem
mature which belies his actions, which is often irresponsible and immature. Even when his love
has been rejected, Romeo still feels heavy with the burden of love. His friends didn't take his love
seriously, they thought it was humorous, silly and later on exasperating. Romeo is hurt by
Rosaline 's rejections and perhaps by his friends' indifference towards his love. We learn this
when he quotes "... love pricks like thorn...". But Mecrutio does not feel melancholy about love.
He views love in a physical sense more than emotional, he advises rather crudely " If love be
rough with you, be rough with love". Romeo's actions and words in act 1 scene 5 make us doubt
if he has been in love at all, or just thinking pretending to be in love. He himself doubts it "did my
heart love till now? Foreswear it, sight for I ne, er saw true beauty till this night." By his words we

Analysis Of A Character By William Wordsworth
A Character, poem by William Wordsworth emphasizes the beauty of humanity and its inevitable
contradictions. In this case, it is believed to portray the idea of romanticism focusing on a society
and its' subjectives. While romanticism introduces the unstable and vast endearment, the devotion to
a love incapable of disbanding, A Character, centralizes a more broad vision of an endearment
towards mortality. Mortality, in this poem, as the essence of human nature, the renowns of wisdom,
desire, and barriers. A Character, promotes the idea of humanity as a vast spectrum of emotions and
thoughts in which personifies nature. "This picture from nature may seem to depart, Yet the man
would at once run away with your heart; and I for five centuries right gladly would be, Such an odd
such a kind happy creature as he." a line in which Wordsworth expresses that despite the flaws and
inevitable vulnerability, love could still be cherished. A love in this case ties the idea of society and
the emotions contributed within it. Romanticism is presented, bringing into play the mindset of
"feeling." The reaction to the birth of the modern world is engraved in this poem, identifying the
emotional and intellectual status of individuals and the obstacles arising in this society. Wordsworth
utilizes idiosyncratic techniques in order to personify his ideas of humans and their love amongst
one another. Daily obstacles exemplify the character each person would portray when withstanding
it. As Wordsworth states, "There's weakness, and strength both redundant and vain; Such strength as,
if ever affliction and pain, Could pierce through a temper that's soft to disease, Would be rational
peace––a philosopher's ease." he acknowledges the strength that one could have that could initially
bring peace and calm despite obstacles that may overwhelm. With this, romanticism can be
emphasized because it relates to the internal states that only one can control on their own whether
that is mentally or emotionally. Mankind has the freedom to feel, address, and pursue any given
pleasure. However, many tend to be unaware of their capabilities. In A Character, Wordsworth
expresses the significance of the ideal spectrum of emotions and the fact that

Writing A Character Analysis Essay

  • 1. How To Write A Character Analysis Of Dick Dick is from a poor but decent working class midwest family. He is a ladies man and an unreptentant con man, mostly getting along in life by what he calls "paper hanging" – writing bad checks, although he occasionally works as a mechanic. Perry comes from a dirt poor family. His parents were circus performers. Perry's mother was the parent he really loved, and she became alcoholic and died, leaving the kids to deal with an abusive father. Perry likes to write and draw, lug around items that are of sentimental value to him. Perry admires Dick's ability to con, his way with people, and thinks him smart. Dick does not think much of Perry at all, thinks him effeminate and silly. They learn of a "wealthy" Kansas farmer from a former inmate of Dick's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Odyssey: A Character Analysis The Odyssey story reborn! Highs, lows, battles with cyclopes, death, these two stories have them all. The Odyssey is an adventurous story with lots of twists and turns, just like "O Brother Where Art Thou" From Everett and his dapper dan, to Delmar thinking Pete was turned into a frog. In the beginning of each story, it starts out with the muse. It was also clear in each story who the leader was. When Everett Pete and Delmar break out of jail Everett tells them what to do just like Odysseus. Next Everett and the boys meet up with the blind black guy they find out what their future has in store for them, just like when Ody met the blind prophet Tiresias. The scene cuts and we see Everett and the boys walking through the woods and they meet Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Cather: A Character Analysis In this essay, I will be discussing Cather's views on three philosophies of life and I will attempt to draw a conclusion about the one to which she personally adheres. I have took my time and read this book and it has been a really good one. It had many romantic points of views and lots of naturalistic moments. Chather's character, Carl, has had lots of romantic points of view towards her character Alexandra. They've fought, made up, and then fought again. They've made the two perfect characters for this book. I've taken quite a huge liking to them. I can relate to many of their aspects throughout the story. It's a shame that Carl had to move away. I surly wish he would've stayed there with Alexandra. Maybe if he stayed with Alexandra...show more content... For example, when Alexandra finally admitted that she was lonely made me finally realize how strong she was. It takes a lot of guts and bravery to admit your true feelings. Another example is when Emil came back from Mexico and out of nowhere kissed Marie on the lips even though she was married! I never would've thought that was gonna happen. I was super happy when it did happen though. Even though they didn't end up together, i've always liked the thought of them being a couple even though she was married. Emil seemed like a better fit for her. Frank seemed like a jerk to Marie. Emil on the other hand, seemed like the man who would take amazing care of Marie and keep her happy. He seemed like the man who would love to have a family with her. He has kept his feelings for her to himself until that very moment where it seemed perfect. He leaned over and kissed her. His love was so very strong that he couldn't even hold it in anymore. This book is filled with many thrills and ups and downs. It helps you relate and connect with the plot and the characters and makes you understand the whole concept of knowing that being human isn't all perfect all the time. It shows that you're going to cry sometimes. It shows how there is despair and agony in life. It helps you understand what it truly means to be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Neil Mcneil: A Character Analysis High school is too short. In the past four years, I've built up many fantastic connections, I've experienced many different things for the first time, and I've become a very different person from when I first walked through the doors of my one and only high school, Neil McNeil. Surely, many defining moments of life so far have happened during my time at Neil McNeil– so it only makes sense that many things come to mind when I ask myself: "what does Neil McNeil mean to me?" Indeed, when I think of Neil McNeil, I think of its wonderful community and it's ambitious strive to create an enjoyable environment for its students. The community is at Neil McNeil is centred around the idea of brotherhood, which is something i felt deeply during my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Awakening: A Character Analysis Further Edna's emotional abuse soon escalates into physical beatings. In addition, she also forces him out onto the street where he endures isolation and beatings from neighborhood bullies. Stating, "You are to remain in the street from the end of school until supper, and from after supper to bedtime" (Lee 65). She even nixed his sister's invitation to join her, responding, "No. You [Kai] belong on your own block, where I can whistle for you" (Lee 65). Eventually, Kai's father is encouraged to enroll him in boxing lessons. Kai manages to develop trusting relationships with his mentors who nurture his need to grieve his mother and encourage him to release his pent up rage by learning to protect himself and allowing the pain to pass through Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Traits Of A Writer: A Character Analysis Some of the traits I think I have are some what good and somewhat bad. I am a very good listener when someone is talking, but If someone else is talking or tapping their pen I get distracted. I work as hard as I can to a point where I get so overwhelmed with everything. Sometimes I get very confused like I don't know how to do something or how someone did something.I don't like to ask questions because I feel embarrassed and that I sound stupid or say something wrong. I always get my work done on time. I try my very best in class so that I don't get in trouble and I also never talk in class. I usually don't smile much or show emotion. I just wanna get my work done, so I'm very focused. I'm very shy and don't really ever talk to people I've been trying to get better at It but It's hard. When I do my work even though I try my hardest I still feel like it's not good enough. I struggle really bad in math. I need an example in detail on how to do something, and watch them do it. Yet all my math teachers just tell us how to do it, and half the time I don't understand what they are talking about. I am a good writer, though well at least I think I am. I can't...show more content... I feel like she knows some of my struggles like math. But I have more struggles than just math and I don't think she sees them as that big of an issue. She says I have good studying skills, but I don't think I do and the thing I need to study the most (math) I never study for because I don't really know how to. I do agree with what she said about my experience this school year, is positive and fun among friends and supportive teachers. I feel like she really understands me and says the things that i won't say. I like to be quiet and I don't know how to stick up for myself because I'm afraid to hurt others feelings. I'm glad she said that if you push me to hard before I'm ready ill shut down, because it's so true. I'm very happy with what my mother said about Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay on Character Analysis-a Worn Path A Woman of Amazing Character Will–power and determination plays a major role when it comes to people accomplishing goals and performing the tasks they are given. When a person possesses these two qualities they are motivated, focused, will not give up easily, determined along with many other things. The word determination is defined as, "the act of coming to a decision or of fixing or settling a purpose." Will–power is, "the strength or will to carry out one's decisions, wishes, or plans." In the short story A Worn Pathby Eudora Welty, the main character Phoenix carried out the meaning of these two words throughout the whole story. She had experienced many road blocks during her journey, but she did not let them stop her from reaching...show more content... She had to be very careful at this point because one wrong move could cause her a limb such as an arm or a leg and she was not going to let that happen. She had to do many things such as creep, crawl, and stretch along with other things in order to make it through this fence. Once she made it safely through the fence she was able to continue on with her journey. From this situation in the text Phoenix seems like the type of woman who will face anything no matter how big or small the obstacle is and will not think twice about it. Once she starts a task she has to complete it. She refuses to turn back especially if it is for her family. Family (meaning her grandson) is of high importance to her and she will not let anything stop her from getting what he needs. One main obstacle that stood out in the text was when she encountered the hunter and his dog. In this scene Phoenix was on the ground because she had fell and the hunter had showed up and helped her up. Once he had her standing on her own two feet he had began questioning her and telling her that she needs to go back home, but she ignored what he was saying. She knew the reason for making this long, enduring trip and she was not going to turn back now. He (the hunter) even went so far as to take his gun and point it directly in her face. This did not bother her nor even scare her. She just stood still and faced him because that was all she knew how to do. After this incident he still tried to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. National Honor Society: A Character Analysis According to google, the definition of character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. As much as I agree with the general perspective of the word, I see it as much broader. I see character as what makes up a whole person. Character is different for everyone, it's what makes us diverse. Maintaining good character will preserve the good qualities and attributes an individual acquires. Throughout my life and my still growing experience, I have possessed and gained many characteristics that have shaped who I am today. I believe that I have many strong characteristics as to how I could be a potential member of the Nation Honor Society. From day one I was always taught a good sense of morality. I've always been seen as an independent person, however I'd always be open armed to work with other people as well. As a little...show more content... I see myself as very committed when it comes to something that means alot to me and NHS fits perfectly in that category. Helping others and bettering the community makes me feel better as a whole and that's what moral I'm trying to achieve. Volunteering makes me want to do something for the experience and the great outcome. If i can put a smile on someone's face for helping them, I feel as if I'm doing the right thing not only for them but for myself. How I can be valuable to NHS is simply to be dedicated and show characteristics that stand out from everyone else. Proving not only to the society but to myself that I can persevere and challenge myself to new opportunities is something I strive for. Lastly, a good well rounded student is another reason I can be valuable to NHS. Keeping my grades up and participating in the topics I'm learning is a key aspect of a person with good character. Therefore staying committed and maintaining a high grade point average is only a few reasons as to how I can be valuable to the National Honor Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Analysis Of Characters In A Jury Of Her Peers Characters are a significant, if not the most important component of a story. They express the emotions of relatable people, and are used by the author to influence readers to support their own desired conclusion. Many people discuss the characters in a short story or novel, but don't actually read for characterization. Reading for character is a higher–level skill because "analyzing characterization is more difficult than describing plot, for human character is infinitely complex, variable, and ambiguous" (Arp 161). Like in most interpretive fictional stories, Susan Glaspell's short story "A Jury of Her Peers," the reader sees richness in the characterization of three women: Minnie Foster Wright who is accused of murdering her husband, Mrs. Hale who is Minnie's childhood friend, and Mrs. Peters the wife of the local sheriff. Through an in depth portrayal of the setting, as well as the characters' outlooks, feelings and passions, Glaspell gradually divulges the story's real underlying conflict and theme which is that under constant subjugation, one may choose to take strong actions without concern of their consequences. The presentation and behavior of characters represent what the author wants the reader to know, feel, and interpret in his/her own story. Interpretative literature usually contains more significant and multi–faceted or round characters whose thoughts and actions usually drive the story, while pieces of commercial literature, even ones with the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Essay on Self-Analysis Self–Analysis Before taking this course my writing styles and habits were very different. I was the typical procrastinator because I would wait until the night before a paper was due to start it. This did not allow me enough time to properly proofread everything, which resulted in getting points deducted for simple grammatical errors that could have been avoided if I would have had the time to proofread. My writing styles have many strengths and weaknesses and I have been able to improve my writing because of them. I have learned from my strengths and weaknesses how to become a better writer. In my writing, I have many strengths, some that which I have developed through this course and some that I already had. Before this...show more content... I can write a thesis that will give an overview about what main topic of the paper is and what other elements will be addressed in the paper. From taking this course I have been able to improve many of my weaknesses, but there are still some that I need to work on. Overall I am becoming better at not procrastinating as much as I used to. This class has helped me to learn to take the little steps along the way because then there will not be as much work to do towards the end. This has also made me realize that the final product of my writing will turn out better because it will have had more time to develop, which means that there would have been more opportunities to proofread. I think by learning many styles of writing, such as paraphrasing, summarizing, analyzing, and researching; it has enabled me to be able to write more broadly. By knowing how to correctly use all of these kinds of writing styles, it will help me in the future for other classes because I will have the knowledge that I need to write these types of papers. I still procrastinate sometimes, but not as much as I used to. I will be able to improve on this as time goes along because I will become more motivated by seeing the end result, which usually would be better grades. Overall I think that my most of my writing habits have improved and for the ones that have not I know what they are and what I need to do to improve them. My strengths that I already had as Get more content on HelpWriting.net

To all of you I'm sorry, I have messed up and I regret all of my actions. I have done things that have destroyed the relationships and the trust between all of you. To Allison, I'm sorry. Stealing from you was the worst thing to our brother and sister relationship. I feel awful for what I have done and I'm not asking for your trust to be restored but at least for you to forgive me. It started as an idea I had to pay you back and buy something online but I then thought I could abuse my power. I got carried away and took advantage of you. For that I'm sorry. Im sorry I don't share all my feelings with you but in general I live life to impress you and this was not a way to do that. I know I have broken our trust and I know I may not be the perfect son but I am still your son. I ask for forgiveness and I hope we can work back to the strong bond I thought we once had. Once again I'm sorry Dad. To Dawn, I'm sorry. Your really the only mother figure I have and I can't throw that a way with the things I do. • 13. Lord of the Flies Character Analysis Do you ever just sit down and reflect on how you got to where you are today? By that I don't mean how you reached your success or how you got your dream job. I mean how you became you as a person. You see, a person isn't just a walking figure with a job and kids, a person is a human being with thoughts, feelings and mindsets that developed based on the trials and tribulations that they've faced in the past. I ask this question because over the past 25 years that is all that I have been able to think of. Who am I? But that is not a question that I can answer as quick as many other people can. You see, when I was young my parents left me alone often. I was always a calm and kind boy so I was able to stay on my own. However, I saw what living without authority did to us on the island. Because of that I spend every moment that I can with my children. I correct them anytime that they show even the smallest sign of cowardice or defiance. I teach them how important it is to face their fears like I did when I went up the mountain to face the beast. If I hadn't had done that I would possibly still be fearing what I thought was a beast to this day. However, I don't allow them to become to defiant. They each know how I feel about arguments or excessive anger. I have seen how simple argument between two boys resulted in the death of one from Piggy and Jack. Although I teach my children based on my experience I still haven't told them the full story of what I faced on the island. I don't want to scare them and I definitely don't want them to develop the idea that they can make it on their own without a higher power. When they grow older I do plan to tell them the full story. By then I think that they will actually get a real lesson from it. However, if I tell them the story now all that they will get from it is that if I was able to survive without my parents for so long they can too. I don't like to keep my expectations too high for my kids but I am guilty of doing it once in a while. Although I hate to admit it, my experience on the island at times makes me to see my children as weak. I know it is shameful, especially for me. I just can't stop thinking about how I fended for myself and survived all on my own and if the same thing happened to them today, I don't think that they could do it. Don't get me wrong, I love my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. My Character Essay My character has both opened and closed many doors for me in life. Most of the time you will see that I'm very laid back and relaxed. Independence is one of my key qualities. I never like to bother people with my problems because ultimately they're not always going to be there for you. I roam around in silence; being loud and obnoxious is not something that has ever given me much success in life. I try to conquer a healthy and happy lifestyle, but you know how that usually goes. I am pretty athletic I believe because I have put in so much hard work and dedicated even more time to football throughout my eighteen years of life. My life experiences have given me a rebellious trait. For example, whenever I get yelled at in football by Coach...show more content... I didn't have a great childhood, mainly growing up around drugs, gangs, and gunshots every night, but when I got older my friends were the ones who saved me from all that madness by taking me into their arms and drifting me away from the wrong crowds. Now, I go back and see them and they're those people I thought they would never be. Drugs run far in the public schools of Massachusetts now that I realize it, a lot of my friends are now heavy drug addicts. When you think of drugs in high school, you think of the basic marijuana, but that's not the case. They are doing the real deal, which are heroin and cocaine. They've been sucked into a dark abyss where I can't save them, not because I don't know how, which I do know, but because I'm so far away that what I say over text or social media to them won't ever be enough to try to change their mind. I just wish that one day they realize what wrong they are doing and seek help, come back to the reality of life instead of trying to escape through the imagination world drugs take you to. I guess the only good outcome from all this is the lessons I learn from my family and friends. Seeing their wrong doings have given me a good sense of what to do in life and what not to do, and that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. Ichabod Crane Character Analysis Ichabod Crane's adventure related in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow demonstrates where someone's unchecked and undesirable personality traits can lead him. Washington Irving wrote "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" in 1820. The story describes how Ichabod Crane persistently frightened himself by supposing he saw and heard supernatural beings. When Crane competed with Brom Bones for a lady's love, Bones took advantage of Ichabod Crane's character flaws scaring him out of town by impersonating the dreaded Headless Horseman. Ichabod Crane's greed, superstition, and fearfulness resulted in his downfall. Ichabod Crane's greed hindered his relationship with the townspeople, making some, such as Brom Bones, pleased to expel Crane from town, and others indifferent to his leaving. Crane had a great gluttonous appetite, so he "lived successively a week at a time" in his pupils' homes because they could not afford to house such a gourmand (Irving 17). Moreover, he earned the distaste of the town's other men while trying to earn the affections of Katrina Van Tassel, whom he hoped to marry because of her wealth. He knew if the marriage occurred, many delicious meals would await him. "The pedagogue's mouth watered as he looked upon this sumptuous promise of luxurious winter fare," (Irving 20). Furthermore, Ichabod Crane's greed extended even to a love of power, which he executed over his schoolhouse. For slovenly, naughty, or lazy children, he always had his whip ready. • 18. A Character Analysis Of Elsa ' Garrett Anderson Dr. Brezina English 103 31 March 2016 A Character Analysis of Elsa It is hard to hear the words "let it go" without bursting into song, thanks to Disney's 2013 animated feature film Frozen. Derived from the Disney princess franchise, Frozen follows two sisters, Elsa and Anna, as they inherit their family's kingdom after the sudden and unexpected death of their parents. Elsa being the oldest of the two, is the newly crowned queen of Arendelle, but what no one knows is that she is hiding a secret. According to Linda Seger's article "Creating the Myth" in Signs of Life in the USA "other myths revolve around make–believe characters who might capsulize for us the sum total of many of our journeys." Meaning, that Elsa's story...show more content... Another similarity comes from Elsa and her parents' reaction to her unique power. After her power causes a near fatal accident, Elsa is forbidden by her parents to use her power. Elsa's father tells her to "conceal it, don't feel it, and don't let it show" as he teaches her to "control" a power in which she has no control over. She is then ostracized for being different and is kept in limited contact with people, secluding herself in her room. The seclusion in the room is symbolic for being "in the closet." According to an article called "What Do Pink Triangles Represent" authors Camry Carey and Stefan Koob of University Wire state "being 'in the closet' is different for everyone. Generally, it comes with feelings of hiding something, depending on one's reason for choosing to stay in the closet." It goes on to say it typically comes from a feeling that the person would be in danger if they came out. While the closet is not an actual closet, it is a metaphor for hiding ones sexual orientation. Elsa's journey mirrors one that many LGBT people travel, she is ostracized for being born different, and is forced into the metaphorical closet, which in the movie, is her bedroom. Next, comparing the stages of Elsa's "coming out" and the paradigm between coming out and peoples initial reactions. • 19. Character Analysis of Romeo Essay Character Analysis of Romeo Romeo and Juliet is a tale of two star–crossed lovers who in their love for each other were willing to sacrifice their lives. Romeo is a very temperamental person; his character develops considerably throughout the play in various ways. In this essay I shall be looking closely at Romeo's character, his intentions & abilities and his relationship with other characters in the play. In the conversation between Benvolio and Montague in act 1 scene 1, we learn that Romeo is behaving strangely and avoiding his friends, "Towards him I made, but he was ware of me and stole into the covert of the woods." In this sentence Benvolio is explaining to Lady Montague that when...show more content... Meaning that she does not love him and she has Dian's wit. Dian is the goddess of hunting and chasity, she avoids Cupid's arrows ; from this we learn that Rosaline has no intention of loving him or any other man. This is further proven when Romeo confirms Benvolio's question that she has sworn to remain a virgin. Romeo goes on to say that his love is misplaced because Rosaline has rejected him. Romeo compares his love to Rosaline as a devote religion. His words seem mature which belies his actions, which is often irresponsible and immature. Even when his love has been rejected, Romeo still feels heavy with the burden of love. His friends didn't take his love seriously, they thought it was humorous, silly and later on exasperating. Romeo is hurt by Rosaline 's rejections and perhaps by his friends' indifference towards his love. We learn this when he quotes "... love pricks like thorn...". But Mecrutio does not feel melancholy about love. He views love in a physical sense more than emotional, he advises rather crudely " If love be rough with you, be rough with love". Romeo's actions and words in act 1 scene 5 make us doubt if he has been in love at all, or just thinking pretending to be in love. He himself doubts it "did my heart love till now? Foreswear it, sight for I ne, er saw true beauty till this night." By his words we gather that He Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Analysis Of A Character By William Wordsworth A Character, poem by William Wordsworth emphasizes the beauty of humanity and its inevitable contradictions. In this case, it is believed to portray the idea of romanticism focusing on a society and its' subjectives. While romanticism introduces the unstable and vast endearment, the devotion to a love incapable of disbanding, A Character, centralizes a more broad vision of an endearment towards mortality. Mortality, in this poem, as the essence of human nature, the renowns of wisdom, desire, and barriers. A Character, promotes the idea of humanity as a vast spectrum of emotions and thoughts in which personifies nature. "This picture from nature may seem to depart, Yet the man would at once run away with your heart; and I for five centuries right gladly would be, Such an odd such a kind happy creature as he." a line in which Wordsworth expresses that despite the flaws and inevitable vulnerability, love could still be cherished. A love in this case ties the idea of society and the emotions contributed within it. Romanticism is presented, bringing into play the mindset of "feeling." The reaction to the birth of the modern world is engraved in this poem, identifying the emotional and intellectual status of individuals and the obstacles arising in this society. Wordsworth utilizes idiosyncratic techniques in order to personify his ideas of humans and their love amongst one another. Daily obstacles exemplify the character each person would portray when withstanding it. As Wordsworth states, "There's weakness, and strength both redundant and vain; Such strength as, if ever affliction and pain, Could pierce through a temper that's soft to disease, Would be rational peace––a philosopher's ease." he acknowledges the strength that one could have that could initially bring peace and calm despite obstacles that may overwhelm. With this, romanticism can be emphasized because it relates to the internal states that only one can control on their own whether that is mentally or emotionally. Mankind has the freedom to feel, address, and pursue any given pleasure. However, many tend to be unaware of their capabilities. In A Character, Wordsworth expresses the significance of the ideal spectrum of emotions and the fact that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
