Miss Hardley repeatedly told her class to smile, but they responded each time with silly faces or hiding themselves. Finally, when she said it again, the whole class smiled, but then Miss Hardley revealed that her voice had run out of batteries so she could no longer tell them to smile.

“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley

5. But the class were asleep.
“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley
“I’ll have to try again.”

6. “Smile.” Said Miss Hardley

7. But the class had hats covering their faces.
“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley
“I’ll have to try again.”

8. “Smile.” Said Miss Hardley

9. But the class had their tongues out.
“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley
“I’ll have to try again.”

10. “Smile.” Said Miss Hardley

11. But the class were hiding.
“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley
“I’ll have to try again.”

12. “Smile.” Said Miss Hardley

13. The class all smiled.
“Too bad,” said Miss Hardley
“I’ve run out of batteries!”
