1. Why are things packaged?
To protect- Plastic is there to protect vulnerable products against
contamination, humidity, gases, bacteria and gases.
To preserves- makes the product last longer so this will in long
term, will cause less waste and saves money.
Prevents spillages and keeps the product together.
Encourages trade- allows the product to be transported and saves
space when distrobruted.
Allows companys to display important information.

product to last longer. In food, the packaging used, is
only 10% compared to the amount of food we waste.

enviroment than packaging waste.

have created a smart shoe which involves using
recycled nets and plastics that have been recovered
from the sea.
It is to raise awareness of what the effects of plastics
and general waste is having to our oceans.
