Healthy Tidbit for the Month:
Active play helps your child learn healthy habits. There are many
health benefits of active play, such as:
Active children are less likely to weigh too much.
Keeping your child active now helps lower the chance of
developing chronic diseases like Type 2 diabetes.
Activities, like running and jumping rope, help your child
learn movement skills to develop muscles and strong
bones.
Active play can also help the mind develop. Playing
“pretend” lets kids be creative.
Active children are more likely to be happy and feel good
about themselves. Children feel proud after learning how
to bounce a ball or ride a bike.
Kendal Intergenerational News:
This month we will be having students from
Oberlin schools to perform at Kendal in the Heiser
Lounge on Tuesday, April 12th
at 3pm.
We hope you can join us for this event!

From the Classroom:
Spring has Sprung !!!! The children are really enjoying the extra outside time we are getting
now that Spring has arrived. They have been enjoying the new balls, hoops and jump ropes
added as they work on their throwing and jumping skills.
March was a very busy month for us as we celebrated two holidays and experienced two
ELI fieldtrips. Our first trip was to the Cleveland History Museum where they enjoyed
comparing the different modes of transportation of long ago to what they get to travel in
today. We also traveled to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History where they enjoyed
pretending to be doctors as they learned all about the human body and how it works. Several
of the children had the opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with our Kendal
Grandfriends. As always the children eagerly awaited our Annual Egg Hunt so they could
see what goodies their eggs held.
Happy Spring! Mary, Sara, Karen, Macie, Robin
