Tackle the root causes of hunger by sustainably increasing agricultural productivity to meet demand, supporting and facilitating access to strong markets, increasing incomes so the poor can purchase food, and reducing undernutrition. Increase the effectiveness of emergency assistance by strengthening the capacity of countries to anticipate and prevent hunger-related emergencies. Leverage the benefits of multilaterals. Work with multilateral institutions with aligned priorities and approaches to make coordinated investments in large scale infrastructure projects, fill financing and technical assistance gaps, etc. Invest in country-led plans. Tailor assistance to the needs of individual countries through consultative processes and investment plans. Comprehensive Approach to Reduce Hunger and Poverty Invest in Country-Led Plans Leverage Benefits of Multilateral Institutions Sustained and Accountable Commitment Improve Strategic Coordination Improve coordination through participation of all stakeholders – including the private sector and civil society – to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and accountability, while reducing duplication and closing gaps. Hold ourselves and other stakeholders publicly accountable , using benchmarks and targets to measure progress toward shared goals.
