2. Delicious Coffee Preparation Methods
A combination of beans and coffee supplies used for
brewing is what defines how that cup of java will hit
your taste buds. Some people even prefer instant
coffee over brewed. There are many different
brewing methods, each yielding different qualities.
Since tastes are different with each person, there
really is no superior method of brewing coffee.
Nevertheless, let’s take a closer look at some of the
different brewing methods.
3. Does Grind Size Matter?
Yes. Different brewing methods require a different
grind size. Here’s how it works. The longer water is
in contact with the coffee, the larger the grind should
be. Always keep this in mind when making coffee.
4. Drip Brewing
Most readers already know about
this method. Still, it’s worth
mentioning. Drip brewing consists of
heating water to just below the
boiling point and then pouring it
directly through the coffee grounds
one time. The end result is a clear
and smooth cup of java. There are
different types of filters that can be
used for drip brewing including
paper, plastic and metal.
5. Neapolitan Flip-Drip
This is a unique type of drip brewing
and requires a unique device called –
well, a Neapolitan Flip-Drip. The
device consists of two tanks, one on
the top and bottom. The filter where
the coffee is place is in the center. Fill
one of the tanks up with water and
bring it to a boil, then remove from
the heat and turn upside-down so that
the water drips through the coffee.
6. Turkish
This is an old fashioned way of brewing coffee and
requires that the beans and water are in contact the
whole time. Pulverized coffee beans are placed into
an Ibrik, then water is added. The mixture is then
brought to a light boil three different times. Once
this is done, the coffee much be allowed to sit until
the coffee grounds settle. Then pour into a cup,
holding back the foam. Once the cup is full, spoon a
tiny bit of foam on top of the coffee.
7. Cold Water Brewing
This brewing method consists of coffee being
placed in a bucket apparatus (can be
purchased at most coffee supplies stores)
along with around a half gallon of water.
Then it’s placed in room temperature for no
less than 6 hours. After which, the plug is
removed and the extract that’s created is
separated from the grounds and refrigerated.
To make a cup of coffee, the extract is mixed
with a cup of hot water.
8. French Press
This popular brewing
method utilizes an
infusion process to make
one outstanding cup of
java. Just use one
tablespoons for every
three ounces of hot water.
It only takes three to five
minutes to get a delicious
cup of coffee.
9. Espresso
Finally, we come to espresso. First of all, pick up an espresso maker from any
store selling coffee supplies. While it’s possible to make espresso without a
machine, it’s just not as good. Hot water is injected through the grounds and
straight into your cup.
