2. Personal Statement The person I am today is contributed by the parenting of my mom and dad, as well as learning from my two older brothers. I’ve always been the type that wanted to help people whether it’s opening a door for someone going to a store or being there for a friend when they need someone to talk to. From my parents instilling good morals in me, such as showing respect to others, being polite, always to do my best, and be a person that someone could look up to. My immediate and long term goals are to pursue a career in which I can use the tools I’ve learned during my journey of obtaining my B.A. in psychology. I’m currently in the hiring process of working with adults with developmental disabilities at Social Vocational Services. My main goal with this career is to learn as much as I can and continue to grow as I start working.

6. Reflection Though I have only been at Argosy for the past two years, I have learned a lot while finishing my degree in psychology. I have learned to have better time management, having organization not only with school, but in life at home. I have made improvements in critical thinking, research skills, communication skills, and how to overcome my fears with interviews. Argosy has taught me so much more about myself and what I want in life. My experiences at Argosy have been really good. I’ve had my moments of stress with doing well in school after my back surgery, but everyone made it a very smooth transition. The staff has been great with being a part of my life making sure everything is going well. My strengths I’ll take away with me would be my communication skills, and relating the concepts of psychology to everyday situations. My weaknesses are having confidence in my ability with critical thinking, and considering myself as an expert in the field of psychology. I still have much more to learn about in this field, and my plan is to improve through my new job and possibly furthering my education in the future.
