its based on project made by us during college days, sponsored by iit bombay and based on vaccum moulding technology. it is non conventional method of moulding. whatever we performed during project work is mentioned in slides

2.  In the moulding process the actual compaction is
effected by actions of jolt, squeeze, vibration,
blow/shoot, vacuum, and impact on the sand,
either singly or in various combinations depending
on the type of machine selected
 However with accordance to the purpose and
requirements of laboratory the compact moulding
machine is to be designed and manufactured which
is firmly based on vacuum moulding

3.  Vacuum moulding process
 Simple in concept and far reaching in impact
 Uses vacuum pressure
 Binders eliminated
 Vibration free

4. Pattern with vacuum holes covered with
plastic sheet

5. flask is placed over the casting pattern and filled
with sand

6. pouring cup and sprue are cut into the mold for the
pouring of the metal casting

7. top of flask covered with plastic sheet

8. removal of pattern and assembly of cope and drag

9.  The main component of the machine is mould box
size.
 Mould box size is 25x20x15cm
 As it is laboratory purpose machine, overall size of
the machine is restricted to footprint of 40x30cm
 The maximum height is 1.5m
 Power supply to machine is 220V
 Pattern used is made by plastic material

11.  Inspite of its time consuming process, compact
moulding machine gives super finished
components without using binders in sand and
sand can be reused.
 It drastically reduces noise and vibration level.
