2015 Plastics News’ Best Places to Work
Local business honored in recent plastics industry award
APPLETON, WI; February 17, 2015 – Machinery manufacturer CMD Corporation was recently named
one of the Best Places to work in the Plastics Industry by the international trade publication, Plastics
News, and Best Companies Group.
The Best Places to Work program was designed to identify and honor the best
employers in the plastics industry; those benefiting the economy, workforce, and
businesses in the United States and Canada. Ten companies were chosen; CMD
ranked 7th
on the list.
“We are extremely proud of this honor,” says Steve Sakai, CMD President. “We have been working
hard to advance a customer-focused, innovative culture at CMD for over 5 years, and this award shows
that we have made meaningful progress. We are truly grateful for the hard work and dedication of our
165 talented employees.”
Companies from across the United States and Canada entered the two-part survey process to determine
the Plastics News’ Best Places to Work. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's
workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of an
employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top
companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey
process, analyzed the data, and determined the final rankings.
Plastics News honored all the winners and revealed the final rankings in a special ceremony at the
Plastics News Executive Forum on February 4 in Las Vegas, and the actual rankings and company profiles
will be published in the February 23, 2015 edition of Plastics News.

A relatively large number of employees in their 50s and 60s
Over 90% of CMD employees said in the survey “they are proud to work at CMD, and they would
recommend CMD to a friend for employment.”
