2. Things are really buzzing in the
world of digital and media these
days.
Technology is zooming ahead, and
and it's totally changing the way
we do things online.
3. A series of surveys by CeSID in Serbia from 2019 to 2023 found something interesting:
there's a big difference between younger people who've grown up with smartphones and the
the internet and the older generation who didn't have those digital toys as kids.
4. The young crowd?
They're pretty sharp when it comes to all
things digital - not really digitally literate,
though, but the 50+ crowd?
Not so much. They're kinda in the dark
about digital stuff.
5. So, what did we do about it?
We decided to give everyone a digital boost:
The young and their parents,
Students and teachers,
as well as Seniors.
We teamed up with all sorts of partners, both
government and non-government, and launched
the Digital Expedition project back in 2021.
6. What was in it? Well, we
had these cool
Traveling
Caravans
Study
visits
Students
Competition
8. The caravans hit up 20 cities and talked to
almost 45,000 people. They didn't just talk,
though; they had lectures, quizzes, Q&A sessions,
and all sorts of interactive stuff. They covered
topics like staying safe online, privacy, and being
a good digital citizen.
9. These caravans got a lot of attention in the
media. About 130 million people heard
about them in the news—that's like every
Serbian hearing it 15 times! TV ads for the
caravans reached more than 3 million
people, which is half of Serbia's population.
population.
The TV spots were even shown for free,
thanks to the Serbian Regulatory Authority for
Electronic Media (REM).
10. Oh, and the caravans got some serious props!
They were one of the top three projects at the
2022 Emerging Europe Awards for raising
awareness about digital stuff in Serbia.
12. We organized trips for over 1K IT students
and 40 high school IT teachers to visit the
top 15 IT companies in Serbia. It gave them
them a taste of what it's like to work in the
digital world and how the stuff they learn in
school comes to life.
14. We teamed up with two well-known educational
institutes in Serbia and asked folks to come up
with cool digital learning ideas. Almost 300
school teams from over 100 cities in Serbia
joined the competition, and they were all in it for
a prize of two million dinars. Fourteen lucky
teams got expert help to make their projects
even better.
15. One of the projects, "Escape Room," got some international love.
It won the European Commission's 2022 Innovative Teaching &
Learning Award among hundreds of entries from all over the
world. It was a big win for the Digital Expedition project!
16. Serbia's racing ahead in the digital era!
Don't just keep up; lead the way with us!
