This document discusses the history and current state of libraries in Hungary. It notes that in 2011 there were 3,632 libraries that served over 2 million readers and received 26 million visitors. The libraries held over 61 million documents. archives and makes available Hungarian and

• We are participate in the „Union for the e-books”
• We are searching the way and possibilities of lending
e-books in libraries.
• We are participate in some European Union projects
e.g. in Europeana, European Digital Library to show
more about our culture and history to the world.
• We are searching the ways of libraries in the new
information world. We hope we will have place in
it :-?
