This document discusses the history and current state of libraries in Hungary. It notes that in 2011 there were 3,632 libraries that served over 2 million readers and received 26 million visitors. The libraries held over 61 million documents. • We are participate in the „Union for the e-books”
• We are searching the way and possibilities of lending
e-books in libraries.
• We are participate in some European Union projects
e.g. in Europeana, European Digital Library to show
more about our culture and history to the world.
• We are searching the ways of libraries in the new
information world. We hope we will have place in

Editor's Notes
The catalogue records offer links to the homepages and the OPACs of the libraries where the document is held. Interlibrary loan requests can be initiated directly via the system, from the same catalogue record. The database started to operate in 2000 and the number of records has reached 3,500,000 to date.
