 ITU first adopted an international alphabet in 1927
    Used in civil aviation till WWII
 USAAF and RAF developed own codes which were
  merged before 1943
    Used in civilian aviation after the war
    Problem – many sounds unique to English
 ICAO adopted new alphabet 1947
    Common Spanish, English and French sounds
    Some problems led to five letter changes in 1956

 D - Delta
 E - Echo
 F - Foxtrot
 G - Golf
 H - Hotel

    Or Juliett
