There are 3 parts in the CIA exam, and we are going to discuss Part 1 here. Part 1 is generally believed to be the easiest of all, because it covers the basic of internal auditing, such as the definition of internal audit and concept of internal controls. Internal audit professionals should have known these subjects by heart and therefore, if you are working in the industry, it should be an easy test for you.
The questions are also straightforward with almost no calculations. While most candidates find it easy, you still need to go through all the topics and work on the practice questions to make sure you get used to answer multiple choice questions online, and also be familiar with the fact patterns and distractors.
In terms of the format, it has 125 questions and you need to complete it within 2.5 hours. If you know your materials, it is enough time for you.
The syllabus can be divided into 3 main topics, and we go over them one by one in the presentation here. If you have any questions on the syllabus, feel free to drop a note in the comment section of this page: http://ipasstheciaexam.com/cia-exam-part-1/
If you haven’t taken Part 2 and Part 3, be sure to check out those presentations as well. Best of luck to your exam!
