2. Age Requirements
Students of the program must meet the following
requirements to be able to participate in the program:
Preschool: 3.5 - 5 years old*
Must be potty trained.
Level I: 6 - 8 years old
Level II: 9 - 11 years old
3. Registration
The program is free. However, there will be a $25 fee
per family for materials.
In order to confirm your child’s registration in Escuela
Pioneros de la Paz, parents are required to complete a
registration package. You can download these forms
ahead of time from our website at
www.pionerosdelapaz.com
4. Dates & Times
FIRST SEMESTER
October 1st - December 10th 2011
Every Saturday
10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Punctuality and regular attendance are crucial to the
program’s success.
5. Attendance
Escuela Pioneros de la Paz has developed a detailed
lesson plan for the entire term and drop-ins will not be
allowed.
All students must be formally registered for the
program and attend every Saturday.
6. Parents
George Syme Community School has several Saturday
morning classes going on simultaneously, and for the
safety of all the students, parents are asked not to
remain in the hallways.
7. Recess
Weather permitting, children will be going outside for
an outdoor recess. Please ensure that your child is
dressed appropriately for outdoor play.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for volunteers to supervise the recesses
from 11:00 to 11:45. If you know you will be
available to do this, or if you can contribute in the
classroom, please contact us via email at

8. Snack
Please provide your child with a nutritious snack every
Saturday.
PLEASE NOTE:
Foods that contain any form of peanuts, or nuts of any
kind (almonds, cashews, etc.) are not permitted in the
school. We take this very seriously as this can be a life
threatening situation with some of our students.
9. Volunteers
Volunteers of the school will wear a badge identifying
themselves as volunteers. These are the only adults
allowed to remain in the school during school hours.

11. Commitment
We expect students of Escuela Pioneros de la Paz to
attend every Saturday from 10:00 am sharp and be
picked up by their parents/guardians at 12:30 pm.
The day’s activities follow a theme, introduced at the
beginning of each class. Often they work in groups.
Please ensure that your child arrives on time so he or
she can participate and share the full benefit of this
program.
12. If, for any reason, your child will not be present on any
given Saturday, we ask that you please let us know via
email at info@pionerosdelapaz.com.
If your child is absent for more than 2 classes without
letting us know, we reserve the right to drop your
child’s name from the register and open the spot to a
student on the waiting list.
