2. Introduction
The IES La Mola is in the city of
Novelda.
It has got:
- 3 buildings (A, B and C)
- Gym
-Sport facilities
-Playground
Buildings B and C, the
parking, and the janitor’s house
are newer.
3. Building A
Is the oldest, it was built in 1967.
This year it was part of the IES La
Asuncion and in 1968 of the IES
Azorín.
In 1974 it became an
independent Centre: “Instituto
Nacional de Enseñanza Media”.
Its first repair was in the 73-74
course. In this year the classes
took place in the “Casa Museo
Modernista”and at the end of
this year the library was opened.
4. Building B
It was built in 1979.
It has got two entrances with ground and first floor.
The three laboratories, one for Science, another for
Physics and a last one for Chemisty are in this
building.
5. Building C
It was built in 95-96 course. In this
year all the school was renovated.
On the ground floor there is the
janitor room, the so called “Aula
Magna”, “Aula de Usos
Múltiples”, two Technology
workshops and an Arts classroom.
you can also find the
Technology, Arts, English and
Maths departments.
On the first floor there are two IT
classes, the Latin department, two
Music classes, another Arts class, a
Speech Therapy room and the
“Diversificatión” class.
6. Gym and green areas
The gym was built in 95-96
course and in this course the
sport facilities and the changing
room were renewed too.
The green areas have an
educational purpouse. Activities
related to P.E, Audiovisual
Communication, Enviromental
Educatión and the Gardening
practices of students of P.C.P.I.
are developed there.
7. Current situation
In the IES La Mola there are students
from Novelda (86%) and La Romana
(14%).
In the ESO there are students from 3
public schools of Novelda (Sánchez
Albornoz, Jesús Navarro and Gómez
Navarro) and the only one of La Romana
(Sagrados Corazones).
Since 04-05 course the IES La Mola
shares its classrooms with the Official
Languages School of Elche (now it is
part of Elda) in the afternoon. You can
study French, German and English.
You can study E.S.O, Bachillerato and
vocational training of
Gardening, I.T., and Trading.
