ICARUS - International Centre for Archival Research

Mapping People uses crowdsourcing to transcribe the 1867 Tartu City Census in Estonia. Volunteers were able to transcribe information from scanned images of the original census pages, including names, occupations, family relationships and more. This crowdsourced effort helped create a searchable database of over 11,000 individuals from the 1867 census to make this historical information more accessible.
