9. Amador Daguio
He was a poet, novelist and teacher during the pre-war. He was best known for his fictions and
poems. He served as chief editor for the Philippine House of Representatives before he died in
1966. He considered that moment of his life to be full of poverty, extreme loneliness, and
adolescent pains. During this period he became very lonely and was driven to write poetry to
express his feelings.
12. On the night of the wedding, they talk about how Lumnay did her best to have a child. Lumnay
wanted to protest against the written rule that a man can marry another woman, so Lumnay went
to the wedding dance. But while seeing her husband married to another woman, she could not
take it anymore and just went to the mountain.
15. Jose Garcia Villa
Poet, critic, short story writer, and painter, he was a consummate artist in
poetry and in person as well. At parties given him by friends and admirers
whenever he came home for a brief visit, things memorable usually happened.
Take that scene many years ago at the home of the late Federico Mangahas, a
close friend of Villa's.
