Bass Effect Audio IV Headphone Super Bass Review

Absolutely love the sound quality of these headphones. For the price, I could not ask for more out of these gorgeous things. I use these headphones for music, movies, and video games (mw3).

So here's what you need to know, layman and audiophile alike:

As the name implies, these headphones are bass-heavy. That being said, the bass is articulate and doesn't get muddled, even at high volume - and make no mistake, these things get surprisingly loud, even when hooked up to just an android or iPod. Because the bass is so strong (sorry bass-heads, not THAT strong, but it stands out), I would not necessarily recommend this for classical music or any music style that prefers a flat response. That being said, I still found Mozart quite enjoyable on these.

The mids and highs are articulate, and equally strong. The bass has a bit of overshadow, BUT the mids and highs still make their way through without being colored by the lows. As best as I can say it, if I had flat response headphones and wanted to bump up the bass with minimal drawbacks and for thirty bucks, they would sound like Bass Effect Audio IV headphones.

The sound stage is impressively large, matching wits with every one of my other pairs of headphones. (Bose Triport, Sennheiser 650, SoundMAGIC e10, Beats Tour).

If you're looking for sound isolation, this is not the place. That being said, I can't hold a conversation when I'm playing music through these things, and if you have the music turned up, people will be able to hear you from several feet away. Keep the music below half volume and you should be fine.

Recap:

highs - articulate, and shine through. I can't say they've been lost in the least.
mids - strong and accurate. I feel like they might be the tiniest bit muddled, but not in a noticeable way. Still far clearer than most 30 dollar headphones I've tried.
lows - powerful and present, with a slight overshadowing effect, but little to no coloration on the other frequencies.
Soundstage: awesome.
Even at full volume, these things stay fairly articulate.

The microphone attachment:

I love how microphone just blends in with the rest of the headphones. Last time I used the headphones to make a call on my cell phone, I could have sworn there were people who thought I was talking to myself (or perhaps singing along to the music very poorly!). During the calls, I asked if I could be heard well, and was told that my voice was coming in loud and clear. Take it for what you will. As with all one-button headsets, quick-pressing the button brings up the voice commands, long-pressing it calls the most recent contact. Microphone is also functional when plugged into the microphone jack of the computer! Awesome.

Comfort:

Now we get to some of the very few cons of this set of headphones.
