discussing it with other students. Later students are divided into 5 groups and discuss their
answer with their friends by reading all of their answers together. Then the teacher wants
every group to choose the best movie by discussing with their friends then group leaders from
all groups share their ideas with their friends about why they choose that movie as the best
among other movies.
Then, the teacher starts to talk about book reviews and asks students if they know
anything about it. He or she shows them a couple of book review samples to understand better
and maybe he or she can choose some students to read the passage outloud and discuss the
features of book reviews with his or her students. And also they talk about how they classify
books. The teacher shows a ppt presentation to students and they learn the book genres

WHILE-READING ACTIVITIES
The teacher gives students a reading text which includes a book review. However he
or she gives the passage with complex paragraphs. The students read the passage first in a
silent way. They try to sequence the paragraphs according to correct order. After they finished,
they read again and the teacher choose different students to read different parts outloud. The
teacher asks some questions to students and want them to paraphrase the paragraphs. So it
develops their skills to convey a meaning through a text.
POST-READING ACTIVITIES
After they read the passage the teacher plays a funny game with students. They are
divided into two groups and they choose a group name. Then the teacher asks some scanning
questions from the text. The first student who takes his or her hand answers the question and
takes one point. It continues like that.
Then the teacher gives students a worksheet. This time they should do it themselves.
They try to answer the questions which are given in these worksheets until the class finishes.
Then the teacher collects the worksheets to check them later. And he or she says that he or she
will give the book which is mentioned in the book review as a gift to a student who answers
his or her questions best.
