Brand Guidelines
The new brand identity detailed in this document will be the
cornerstone of a new visual identity system for RTC which will
manifest itself into every aspect of our communication both
internally and externally.
It is the primary means by which our business will signal its presence and activities to all
those who come into contact with our organisation.
In the minds of our customers the RTC brand will be shaped by the images they see, the
words they hear, and the service they receive. When you use the RTC logo and other
elements of our brand identity, you are communicating our image to the world.
The success of the brand depends on the individual efforts of each person involved in the
creation of RTC communications. The consistent application of the brand identity will allow
us to send a clear controlled message of who we are, creating a strong unifying image of
the business. It is important that you use the brand identity with care; it will be among our
most valuable assets.

Using the basic logos
Two basic layouts of the logo have been created and you should use whichever version
suits the application best:
Logo 1
:: Small icon with company name set on one line
Logo 2
:: Large icon with company name set on two lines
In addition to the logo layout format, various colour models have been created for different
applications which are illustrated on pages 5 and 6.
Artwork for all logo variants is available in Adobe Illustrator EPS format for PC and Mac.
Additionally, JPG files are available for use in other applications such as
MS Word and Powerpoint.

Our corporate fonts
DIN has been chosen as the corporate font and the weights shown to the left are the
preferred choices.
The logotype itself uses a mixture of DIN Medium and DIN Light
When DIN is not available, or for electronic documents such as Word files, Arial can be
used as a substitute font.
Our corporate colours
Two main corporate colours form the basis of the new RTC brand identity.
The dark grey chosen is a metallic, but when reproduced in 4 colour process becomes
70% black.
The green is a non-metallic and is reproduced in 4 colour process as 50C/100Y.

Design applications and visual imagery
Applications should typically use the two main corporate colours very strongly, with the
dark grey as the primary colour and the green as the secondary colour reserved for
highlighting text or as a background colour as shown here.
The highest quality material available within the budget should always be specified.
The RTC brand identity relies on a style of imagery which should be followed wherever
possible. Images should be chosen for their drama and impact while trying to avoid
clichéd scenarios. Strong composition, tight cropping and unusual angles will always give
the desired impact.
