BLOG POST: (if you do not have a blog use
ZOHO Writer or Google Docs)

What does your list of significant events say
about your world view?
Click here and download one earth image to
your picture folder.

Once downloaded, open the earth image in
Paint

Add numbers - 1 through 10 on each
location on the map that you chose as a
significant decade event.

For example if one of your significant
events was the war in Iraq, then place a 1
where Iraq is located on the map.
If one of your significant events was the
passing of Michael Jackson, then place a 2
where Los Angeles is located on the map.
etc.

See Paint example below

After you create your numbered map, give it
a smart name, and save it as a JPEG file in
your picture folder.
Next, insert your numbered map to your
blog.
If you do not have a blog, insert your image
to ZOHO Writer or to Google Docs.

Write a short paragraph explaining what
your numbered map says about your
world view.

Post a link to your blog post or ZOHO/
Google Docs document to your January

Please remember to include the class

yourselves present in twitter.
See 12/14/09 classwork (below) if you
were absent yesterday.

Post all completed work for today on your
Wallwisher.com page for 12/14/09.

All students should have a Wallwisher.com
account

We are using Wallwisher like it were an
online bulletin board where you post digital
sticky notes with links to works completed
and works in progress.

You will build a new Wallwisher wall every
week.

IMPORTANT: Your report (from yesterday)
on hyperlinking is due at the end of the
class period.

If you need more time to prepare and
publish a report on hyperlinking you may
use today's class period to do that.

All reports should contain at least three
hyperlinks.

If you completed your report on
hyperlinking, then "build a wall" in
Wallwisher.com that includes "digital sticky
notes" to all works completed for the week
of 12/7/09.
Title: YourFirstName's Digital Bulletin Board
for 12/7/09
Subtitle: My classroom bulletin board
Include a picture

Repeat the above steps for week of 11/30/
09, 11/23/09, etc.

If you did not do so on Friday, all students
create an account at Wallwisher.com

Students who have Wallwisher.com
accounts need to build a new wall for this
week.
You will build a new wall - "digital bulletin
board" every week.
The wall will contain notes and links to your
work for that week.
Edit your title: Songhai's Digital Bulletin
board
Add a subtitle My classroom bulletin board
for 12/14/09
and choose a URL for the week
(songhaisboard121409)

Use ZOHO or Google Docs to prepare a brief
report on hyperlinking:

1. What is hyperlinking and hypertext
writing?
2. What hyperlinking activities have you
worked on over the last 3 weeks?
3. What distinguishes hypertext writing
from ordinary text documents?
4. How would you rate your hyperlinking
skills - proficient, good, unsatisfactory?
(explain all of your answers)
You are encouraged to use hyperlinks when
preparing this document.

Post a link to this document (even if it is
incomplete) on Wallwisher.com and share
your digital bulletin board via Twitter.

Note: any slideshow work from last week
that I do not have must be completed on
your time.
Once you complete the slideshow post a link
to your Wallwisher.com page and post to
Twitter.

The deadline for adding hyperlinks to this
poem is Thursday, December 3rd.
As you wrap up hyperlinking this poem,
keep in mind that poetry is filled with deep
and hidden meaning.
There is much more to a poem than meets
the eye.

You must read between the lines to get the
deeper meaning of a poem.
Think carefully about what you read.
What does the line you just read represent -
what's it look like?
You must see through the literal.

As you wrap up this exercise, think about
what each line or passage in the poem is
saying and find the perfect picture synonym
to match it.

Do not put the exact line or passage into
your search box.
That will only get you what the student next
to you gets.

Be bold in your thinking.
Do not be intimidated by Google or other
search engines.
Type exactly what you mean in the search
box to get what you want.

STYLSTIC NOTE: Please keep your images
consistent - use all color images or all black
& white images.
Also use landscape images only - no portrait
pictures.
