2. Importance of a good resume
Someone asked me recently
• “B… I heard hiring managers only spend an average of 7- 10 seconds
reading a resume. So resumes are meaningless, right?
• I responded as “That’s how long they take to scan a resume while
DECIDING whether to keep reading. If they like what they see,
they’re going to keep reading past 10 seconds. But you have to grab
their attention.”
• The purpose of putting a profile section on your resume is to
immediately show the recruiter you’ve got what it takes to get the
job done-perfect skill match!
• Your summary should motivate them to read the rest of your resume
with bated breath, has the advantage to do this because it appears
at the top and gets top attention.
