Description Of A Car Accident Essay
Essay 1: Car Accident The clock read 4:38 pm and we knew we had to be home by 5:00 pm. Ifraz
and I sat patiently in the car waiting for Nida and my sister. As soon as they arrived, we quickly
left on our excursion back home. The sun began to set through the cracks in the clouds and
darkness was creeping in. The day consisted of a few sprinkles here and there which was just
enough to moisten the roads. On the journey home, I was in the driver 's seat while Ifraz was
beside me and my sister and Nida were in the back. We all got lost into our conversations and had
a great time telling jokes to one another. I kept my eye on a dark blue car right in front of us
which seemed to be in a rush. Just as I took my eyes off the car and looked at Ifraz to speak to
him, the car in front of us swerved into the right lane. As I looked back onto the road, I searched
for the dark blue car, but it was already ahead of two cars in the right lane. My vision turned back
to the road in front of me. Just as I did so, my stomach clenched and I held in my breath as I saw a
stopped vehicle waiting to turn left about 30 feet in front of me. Thoughts began flooding into
my mind on how to maneuver around this vehicle. As I looked to my right for an escape route,
another car was right beside me, blocking the getaway. I abruptly pressed on the brakes and all I
heard were the tires screeching, trying to grasp onto the slippery road to stop themselves. Time
seemed to slow down a great deal while we tried

Narrative Essay About A Car Accident
I used to read about people getting into car accidents. Finally one happened to me and that was when
I realized anything can happen at any moment.
It was Monday, June 6th, 2016. The sun was shining, and it was nice weather for an adventure.
This summer was the first summer that any of my friends had their licenses, so adventures were
always happening. Kayla, who has been my friend since I can remember; Emily, who Kayla and I
have known for around 7 years; and I were always together. Today we were on our way to Wildwood
Park. Wildwood Park has trails for you to walk on, and a small bridge over a river. We call it "That
one shaky bridge" because it is not very sturdy when you walk across it. Kayla was driving, Emily
in the front seat, and I in the back; in her old blue car listening to music, using the GPS, on our
way to our destination. We were on Highway 14 going towards Mankato. Kayla looks down at the
GPS that is on her lap for a second, I start yelling "Shit, shit, shit, shit." CRASH. Our small blue car
is now in the back of a large pickup truck. After this all had happened, we ended up in the ditch on
the other side of the road. I was feeling very scared. Were my parents ever going to let me leave
the house again? How much trouble are we really going to get into? How will we get out of this
mess? We all sat in silence for like a minute, then Kayla started to freak out a little. She started
crying, thinking how disappointed her grandpa was going to be or what we was going

The Crash Of A Car Accident Essay
The Crash Getting in a car accident is an unnerving thing. You never know what can happen and if
your lucky you might see it coming. Well as often as these accidents occur, it happened to Spencer
and I on one fateful summer evening. We had just left his Dads house after driving there to look for
his dad. We decided to take histruck instead of the BMW. It was horribly hot and humid. The
humidity was almost palpable. It was as if you were wading through a hot, steaming bowl of
soup. He had just turned 16 and was obviously inexperienced. We didn't care though. We drove
with the windows down jamming out to music. It didn't matter how hot it was we were just
enjoying our days of summer. Little did we know, we wouldn't be relishing in this hot summer day
much longer. We had just passed NAPA, the auto supply store, heading south for his mothers house.
She lived down one block and two to the left. At the stop sign we stopped for a moment, changing
the song to bruno mars's "When I Was Your Man". I leaned out the window, crooning out the lyrics.
He accelerated and started to cross the highway. CRASH! It was as if a freight train had hit head on
with me, the noise was deafening. Suddenly there were white airbags that had erupted all around me
and I was slammed into the side of the truck. We had just been t–boned by an oncoming Toyota
pick–up truck. I was faintly aware that our truck was still inching forward until it came to a stop. I
looked around. We were next to the library.

Teenage Driving and Accidents
"Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time," said by Steven Wright. Teenagers look
forward to their sixteenth birthday so they are able to drive. Everyone has felt that feeling where
they can hardly wait to get behind the wheel and start driving. Little do people know teen drivers
are more likely to die from a car accident than from a homicide, suicide, or cancer combined
(Littlefield). They are mostly inexperienced with the road and how to handle distractions. If the age
were moved to eighteen teenagers would have more driving experience (Sostarecz). Teenage drivers
are extremely eager to drive because of freedom, but they are not aware of the distractions and peer
pressure on the road; their experience of driving is not as well...show more content...
The main distraction in a car is the cell phone; 11% of teenage drivers in fatal crashes were
distracted and 21% were distracted by the cell phone (Rocky). Teenagers will mainly use cell
phones to keep in contact with friends when they drive (Sostarecz). Other near crashed victims say
it was the cause of texting, eating, or not paying attention to the road (Littlefield). Some teenagers
are not aware of the road signs and are not able to identify things that more experienced drivers
can. Teenagers do not look around to see their surroundings causing car accidents (Emmer). If the
driver is not aware of his or her surroundings all people in the vicinity are at risk of getting injured.
Another example of distractions and peer–pressure is intoxication. An example of this is when a
teenage girl did not look around her and hit someone on their motorcycle causing them to go into a
coma (Emmer). They were able to blood test the girl and saw that she had been intoxicated by
marijuana. This may not have been peer–pressure, but it was a foolish decision made by an
inexperienced teenager. Alcohol is a main problem with teenage driving. 32% of teenagers who
were killed in 2011 consumed alcohol and 26% were alcohol impaired (Rocky). Alcohol will
impair the mind causing people to not make good decisions and they lack reaction timing. In 2003
a study showed 30% of teenagers said that they had recently driven in a car with a driver who was
alcohol–impaired (Cefrey). Not only is

Narrative Essay On A Car Accident
"Should I scream dramatically like they do on tv shows?" "Should I try to slam on my brakes?"
"If I swerve I still hit the other car". All I knew in that moment was a car was about to hit me.
While remembering that my sister once said the worst part about a car accident is the sound, I
came to the conclusion that no matter what, the crash was going to happen. My head banged
forward and the car came to a jolting stop. CRUNCH. "Okay" I thought to myself "the worst part
is over". But oh, how I was wrong. I opened my eyes to see the name "Kenny Chesney" on the
radio and the time of 11:41AM on the radio. I knew the first thing I had to do was call the cops
and inform them of the situation but I couldn't find my phone so I decided I'd go over to the
other car to ask the driver if they were okay and if they could call the cops; well the only problem
was my arm had become completely numb and wasn't about to let me go anywhere. I was truly at
a loss until a woman yanked open my car door swarming me with questions "are you okay? Do
you need anything? Do you need food? Do you need water? Are you injured? I'm on the phone
with the police right now". Quickly, I stated that I needed to borrow her phone to call my dad and
alert him of my current situation and that I couldn't feel my right arm. She said okay and asked if
there was any blood, the answer was yes, all over the passenger seat actually, I just didn't know from
what. All I could think about was whether the other driver was okay

Essay Accidents Caused by Texting and Driving
A group of friends drive around town and the driver receives a text. The driver decides to answer
the text, veers into the other lane and hits an oncoming car. In the last seven years, the number of
teens texting while driving has risen . Researchers at Cohen Children's Medical Center New Hyde

is more than the number of teens who drink and drive. In comparison, 2,700 teens die from

Short Story On A Car Accident
Jimmy is out with friends at the movies theater. The movie ends at 10 o'clock and his curfew is
10:30 pm. His friends want to go get food after the movies so they did. While on the way there a
car accident happened that slowed down traffic for a little bit. They finally got to the restaurant
to eat at 10:45. They went in, sat down, talked, ate some food and then left. When Jimmy was
pulling into his driveway he looks at the clock and sees that it is 12:30 am. He knew he was late;
his parent is going to kill him for being this late. When walking into the door he closes it back
quietly and starts to walk up the stairs but then the kitchen lights turn on. Jimmy looks over and
sees his mom and dad sitting at the table waiting for him. Knowing that he is about to get yelled
at he forms a story in his head. As soon as his father asks why he was so late Jimmy starts to tell
the story. "It was so crazy. When I was on my way back there was a horrible accident. It happened
right in front of me. Both cars were totaled there was nothing left of them really. No one was badly
injured but we had to wait for them to get out of the car to start the flow of traffic. I was sitting
there for almost an hour. I was so traumatized by seeing the accident that on the way back I drove the
car so slow and carefully as I could." During the entire time of Jimmy telling the story, he makes
sure to have a scared face on and to sound very convincing. When he finishes his parents have a very

Essay about Causes of Car Accidents
Causes of car accidents Car accidents can happen to drivers anytime, anywhere. "According to the

making it the most common type of car accidents, it is also known that the accident rear end as
incidents of injury, because the nature of the collision leads often in whiplash injury the driver in

When a cell phone is used while driving, it distracts the attention of the driver, leading to car
accidents. While using a cell phone many people tend to miss traffic signals, because they are not
really concentrating on driving. The process of dialing or answering the phone can make them
lose control of the vehicle as well. Even though the driver is looking at the road, he or she can
easily get distracted by the conversation. This can result in fatal accidents. Third reason of
accidents on the road is teenage drivers. "2,739 teenagers died in car accidents in the United States
during 2008 ", (drivesteady.com). Some teenagers cause fatal accidents, because of immaturity and
lack of experience. Teenagers are very impulsive. Although not intending to hurt anyone, they
sometimes drive very aggressively. It is not difficult to find teenagers driving with one hand on the
steering wheel, seat pushed back, and with loud music playing. In traffic they go wild, trying to seek
attention. They underestimate the risk of what they are doing. All these acts result in serious
consequences on the road. Many accidents of young drivers result from their own mistakes. In
conclusion, many people do not realize that being intoxicated while driving, using cellular phones
and teenage drivers may bring serious injuries to everybody. Some people may enjoy drinking
without care until they get into car accident, which can even result in

The Accident: A Short Story
The Accident      Every once and awhile I'll look back on my life
and I'll laugh. Particularly at the times I spent with my best friend Nate and all the mischief we
caused. I look back now and I think what the HELL were we doing? How did we not die? Have you
ever sat down and had a conversation with a male teen between the ages of 14–17? I should've been
locked away for that period of my life, I swear I was temporarily insane. I had NO concept of
"consequences" or "repercussions". I did whatever, whenever. Unfortunately
this little package of immaturity also came with other misleading thoughts such as a sense of
invincibility, a total disregard for any authority, and taking pretty much...show more content...
It was a cool summer night. I was hanging out with Nate, bored as usual, when Jeff stopped by
with some interesting news. "An abandoned stretch of 95!" He said with excitement.
"I found where it is this morning." Without second thoughts Nate and I hopped into
my car and followed Jeff to what he had promised to be a "great time".
We drove through a well hidden, off road trail and finally
arrived. It was everything we had hoped for. Two lanes of perfectly straight asphalt that stretched
about a mile to a mile and a half. So what else are three immature guys to do? Race. Nate and I
buckled our safety belts (a life saving maneuver) as Jeff pulled up next to us. With his fingers he
slowly signaled 1–2–3. I stomped on the gas. I heard my four exhaust pipes roar, the engine
growling, almost beast–like, then the tires screeched in compliance as our car jumped forward and
took off, leaving a cloud of smoke behind while Nate approvingly yelled, hooting and hollering
with every loud sound the car was emitting.      In about three
seconds I had caught up with Jeff, in about three more seconds he was two dots in my rear view
mirror. I remember seeing complete blackness and then branches from what I came to find out was
a large dead tree. I cut the wheel hard, not knowing where we were about to go next. I hit the

Car Accidents Essay
Car accidents are a leading cause of both morbidity and disability. A car accident is said to have
occurred when a motor vehicle collides with another motor vehicle, a pedestrian, an animal, a
structure, a building or road equipment.
Despite strict laws that govern speeding, drunk driving, distracted driving and overall driver
negligence, car accidents continue to increase. New data from the National Safety Council shows
that car accident fatalities have increased by a third from 2014 to 2016 in Georgia. This is the
fifth highest increase in the country overall and is more than twice the national average. Motor
vehicle fatalities have increased by 14% nationwide from 2014 to 2016. In fact, 2016 has been the

Often these damages can be quite significant. Many times, the amount can easily surpass the
average annual income of most people. That is why all drivers on the road are required to carry
liability insurance.
Your response in the event of a car accident is dependent on the level of damage. If it is a minor
accident, drivers can often get away with a simple citation. But if there are serious injuries and/or
damage, drivers can be held financially liable and can also be heavily penalized. The driver's
license can also get suspended or revoked depending on the circumstances.
If you are a victim, you should know that you are entitled to compensation. If it is an open and
shut case and if the other driver is clearly responsible for the accident, your personal injury claim
will be quite simple and should not take long to be approved. However, most of the time things are
not so simple. Even if the at–fault driver has insurance coverage (which is required by law), that
driver's insurance company may still try to challenge your claim in order to reduce their payout.
This is very common and dealing with insurance companies is a major problem that most plaintiffs
have to bear. In any case, the law allows you to file for damages no matter what the other party
says or does. You can initiate a formal process through the civil court where you can seek
compensation from the party who is at fault. When you file such a lawsuit,

Cause And Effect Of Car Accidents
The world would be a much better place if there were fewer car accidents. Car accidents happen
daily and regularly these days. They leave pains behind for the victims' families. Many people think
that they will never get involved in car accidents. They don't wear their seat belts, they drive after
drinking, and they use their cell phones while driving. They do all these things without even giving a
second thought, yet all these things are preventable. No one knows what will happen to them in the
future except for God; thus, they should always stay alarmed. People don't realize that doing those
minor things cause them severe pains or even deaths.
There are more than six million car accidents each year in the United States. A person dies in a car
accident every twelve minutes and each year car crashes kill 40,000 people. Someone is injured by
a car accident every fourteen seconds and about two million of the people who are injured in car
accidents suffer permanent injuries. Car accidents are the leading cause of death for the people
between two and thirty–four years old. Car crashes cost each American more than $1,000 a year;
$164. 2 billion is the total cost each year across the U.S. (http://www.edgarsnyder.com/car–accident

also saves the money for their countries. This makes everyone to be involved in car accidents happen

The Pros And Cons Of Car Accidents
Car accidents have become a common occurrence today. According to the State Highway Patrol,
traffic deaths around Ohio have increased for the second year in a row. There were 1,057 traffic
fatalities in 2015 as compared to 1008 fatalities in 2014 and 990 fatalities in 2014. According to a
highway patrol spokesperson, approximately 60% of Ohio's fatal crashes in 2015 involved drivers
who were not wearing a seatbelt. Nearly one–third of the fatal crashes involved drivers who were
impaired by alcohol or drugs.
If you were in a car accident and nobody got injured, you should count yourself lucky. It can be an
extremely traumatic experience to suffer severe injuries or to see your passengers (friends and/or
family) hurt or injured. It is also a very stressful experience if you are the one who is at fault and
you end up injuring another driver. Therefore, car accidents that do not result in any fatalities and
major injuries can be quite a blessing. Sometimes though, the vehicles are not as lucky and may
suffer significant damage. You may ask yourself in such a situation as to who will pay the cost of
repairing your car?
The legal requirement in Cleveland, Ohio is for drivers to carry a minimum insurance policy that
includes bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverage. Specifically, the required
minimum for bodily injury liability coverage is $25,000 per person injured in an accident and
$50,000 for all persons injured in an accident. The required minimum for property damage liability
coverage is $25,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others.
Ohio is a liability state. This means that if you are in an accident and you incur medical injuries
and/or property damage, the driver who is responsible for the accident will be the one who will be
held liable for any damages. In other words, it will be the negligent driver's insurance company who
will pay you for any vehicle–related damages. That is precisely why the mandatory insurance policy
in Ohio requires all drivers to carry a $25,000 property damage coverage.
However, since Ohio is a liability state and any damages paid by the parties involved in an accident
is dependent on the level of their fault, you have to keep in mind that if you

Cause And Effect Of A Car Crash
People never know when life can come crashing to an end. My boyfriend, friend and I were in a
car accident that happened while we brought her home from a rival high school football game.
Many factors went into the cause of the wreck, but there are several more effects of this event that
need to be discussed. A carcrash can affect your life in a variety of ways. To begin with, there are
some obvious negative ways that an accident can impact your life. One of those things is a totaled
car. When the wreck occurred, we drifted off the road and into a ditch. Consequently, we hit a tree
that destroyed the vehicle. The front left side of the Catillac was gone and the left front tire was
bent into the car. On my side, the mirror on the outside of the car was taken off and the door was
bent in enough to where it would not open. Due to this event my boyfriend's family is now out a
vehicle. Secondly, injuries is another issue. The only injuries that we received was sore muscles
from jerking forward due to impact with the tree. Although this could have been something major.
If the car had flipped, then this crash could have been fatal. Thankfully everyone was okay.
Moreover, there was also trama from the wreck. Emotionally, I was messed up for a couple of
days after it. I could still see and feel the crash happening. It almost felt like a dream afterwards
even though I knew it really did happen. I was wondering why the wreck happened the way that it
did. I was also wondering if anything different happened then would have the outcome remained the
same. The last negative effect of this is how much each of our parents trust us now. With my
boyfriend's parents, they actually were not too upset about the totaled vehicle. They were just
glad that all of us were not harmed severely. When I finally got home that night I got yelled at, but
it was expected. My dad was just scared about what had happened and he took it out on me. As for
the trust, my parents were fine with me. As for them trusting my boyfriend's driving again, well.. he
might have a little ways to go before the just level gets up to the same mark it was before. Even
though there are many negatives to this car crash happening, there are still positive effects

Persuasive Essay On Car Accidents
Car accidents continue to be one of the leading causes of injury and death in the US. Every day we
hear of accidents that result in fatalities, disabilities, serious injuries and property damage. A large
number of car accident victims suffer injuries that have a long–term impact on their life. In addition,
they also have to deal with the emotional consequences of such an event.
While some accidents are the result of unavoidable circumstances, there are many that occur
mainly due to the reckless behavior of drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA) reports that 35,092 people were killed in 2015 and approximately
2,443,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes. 96 people died each day on average and
one person was killed every 15 minutes. Many of these accidents could have been prevented if the
drivers had demonstrated responsible behavior.
Here are some behaviors that are responsible for a large majority of fatal and serious accidents in
South Carolina:
Driving under the Influence of Drugs and Alcohol: Alcohol–impaired driving is one of the primary
reasons for car accidents in South Carolina despite a straightforward and specific Code of Laws in
South Carolina that clearly states that it is illegal to get behind the wheel of a car while the driver
is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. DUI penalties in South Carolina are very strict and heavy
penalties can be imposed on those caught and convicted. Despite this, many drivers continue to drive
while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Speeding and Aggressive Driving: Another major contributor in car accidents is speeding and other
aggressive driving behaviors such as racing, tailgating, reckless and careless lane changing etc. This
type of reckless behavior has been observed in young driver. Speed–related accidents continue to
cause injury and damage to victims.
Distracted Driving: This form of driving behavior is rapidly becoming a major problem for road
safety. More and more people today have smartphones and despite repeated warnings about the
consequences of distracted driving, drivers continue to text, talk, and email through their mobile
devices. South Carolina safety officials have made a significant effort to

We were on Highway 14 going towards Mankato. Kayla looks down at the GPS for a second, I start
yelling "shit, shit, shit, shit."and then CRASH. Our small blue car is now in the back of a large pickup
truck. After all this happen we end up in the ditch on the other side of the road. We all sat in

Narrative Essay On A Car Accident
Life is unpredictable and an accident can happen anytime. on our way back home from church
my dad was driving a black 2012 Toyota Highlander, which is a family car that seven people can
ride in it. My younger brother, Taw Nay Gay, and I were sitting on the seat behind the driver seat
by the door. My other two younger brothers, Gay Nay Soe and Soe K Maw, sat in the seat behind
me, and my mom sat in the front passenger seat. For the first time a nineteen year old girl like me
started to believe that I had a reason to live and my life could be taken away anytime. This
happened on October first 2017, 7:30 pm when we got into a car accident by the traffic lights
intersection. Three cars were damaged, but everyone in the cars were fine....show more content...
My Dad said, "I am okay". Another American man came and asked, " is everyone in the car okays?
Me and my family was fine. It just that our car got damaged in the front but we can still drive."
Asian man said, "me and my wife were fine too, but our car is not fine because we cannot move
it." I remembered my friend Tim said when he got in to car accident he and the other driver were
cursed and blamed each other about the accident. To me, I felt that they care about their car more
than their life. And they must have forgotten that their cars were not as important as their life.
Therefore, they put their cars first before them. Another accident that I remembered. Karen singer
Gangyi was one of my first male favorite singer. I started to noticed his amazing voice when I
listened to one of the song that he covers. The song called "The Prayer"; he sang this song with his
sister May. Sadly, not long after I heard his song; I heard he passed away during car accident. "This
guy passed away during the car accident not long ago. I saw some of my Facebook friends post
about his death and his family must be really sad for loosed his precious son," my dad said. "Why
must he leave the world so early at his young age? He had not sung more than ten songs yet. He
just started to sing few song and he passed away after that?" I reply to my dad. The

Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions
Basic Concepts
Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of
collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics:
Newton's 1st Law
In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in
motion with a constant velocity.
This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no
friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will continue
with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a force in the
opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded...show more content...
Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a
perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you. When
you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back. You
would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably have
mass more than the object you threw.
Static and Kinetic Friction
Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of friction
is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of all
objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one another
when two objects are moving past each other.
This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical bonding
and electrical interactions.
The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction. The
formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that resists
motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being pushed
into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force is that
50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are sliding past
each other.

Essay Car Accident

  • 1. Description Of A Car Accident Essay Essay 1: Car Accident The clock read 4:38 pm and we knew we had to be home by 5:00 pm. Ifraz and I sat patiently in the car waiting for Nida and my sister. As soon as they arrived, we quickly left on our excursion back home. The sun began to set through the cracks in the clouds and darkness was creeping in. The day consisted of a few sprinkles here and there which was just enough to moisten the roads. On the journey home, I was in the driver 's seat while Ifraz was beside me and my sister and Nida were in the back. We all got lost into our conversations and had a great time telling jokes to one another. I kept my eye on a dark blue car right in front of us which seemed to be in a rush. Just as I took my eyes off the car and looked at Ifraz to speak to him, the car in front of us swerved into the right lane. As I looked back onto the road, I searched for the dark blue car, but it was already ahead of two cars in the right lane. My vision turned back to the road in front of me. Just as I did so, my stomach clenched and I held in my breath as I saw a stopped vehicle waiting to turn left about 30 feet in front of me. Thoughts began flooding into my mind on how to maneuver around this vehicle. As I looked to my right for an escape route, another car was right beside me, blocking the getaway. I abruptly pressed on the brakes and all I heard were the tires screeching, trying to grasp onto the slippery road to stop themselves. Time seemed to slow down a great deal while we tried Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Narrative Essay About A Car Accident I used to read about people getting into car accidents. Finally one happened to me and that was when I realized anything can happen at any moment. It was Monday, June 6th, 2016. The sun was shining, and it was nice weather for an adventure. This summer was the first summer that any of my friends had their licenses, so adventures were always happening. Kayla, who has been my friend since I can remember; Emily, who Kayla and I have known for around 7 years; and I were always together. Today we were on our way to Wildwood Park. Wildwood Park has trails for you to walk on, and a small bridge over a river. We call it "That one shaky bridge" because it is not very sturdy when you walk across it. Kayla was driving, Emily in the front seat, and I in the back; in her old blue car listening to music, using the GPS, on our way to our destination. We were on Highway 14 going towards Mankato. Kayla looks down at the GPS that is on her lap for a second, I start yelling "Shit, shit, shit, shit." CRASH. Our small blue car is now in the back of a large pickup truck. After this all had happened, we ended up in the ditch on the other side of the road. I was feeling very scared. Were my parents ever going to let me leave the house again? How much trouble are we really going to get into? How will we get out of this mess? We all sat in silence for like a minute, then Kayla started to freak out a little. She started crying, thinking how disappointed her grandpa was going to be or what we was going Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. The Crash Of A Car Accident Essay The Crash Getting in a car accident is an unnerving thing. You never know what can happen and if your lucky you might see it coming. Well as often as these accidents occur, it happened to Spencer and I on one fateful summer evening. We had just left his Dads house after driving there to look for his dad. We decided to take histruck instead of the BMW. It was horribly hot and humid. The humidity was almost palpable. It was as if you were wading through a hot, steaming bowl of soup. He had just turned 16 and was obviously inexperienced. We didn't care though. We drove with the windows down jamming out to music. It didn't matter how hot it was we were just enjoying our days of summer. Little did we know, we wouldn't be relishing in this hot summer day much longer. We had just passed NAPA, the auto supply store, heading south for his mothers house. She lived down one block and two to the left. At the stop sign we stopped for a moment, changing the song to bruno mars's "When I Was Your Man". I leaned out the window, crooning out the lyrics. He accelerated and started to cross the highway. CRASH! It was as if a freight train had hit head on with me, the noise was deafening. Suddenly there were white airbags that had erupted all around me and I was slammed into the side of the truck. We had just been t–boned by an oncoming Toyota pick–up truck. I was faintly aware that our truck was still inching forward until it came to a stop. I looked around. We were next to the library. • 4. Teenage Driving and Accidents "Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time," said by Steven Wright. Teenagers look forward to their sixteenth birthday so they are able to drive. Everyone has felt that feeling where they can hardly wait to get behind the wheel and start driving. Little do people know teen drivers are more likely to die from a car accident than from a homicide, suicide, or cancer combined (Littlefield). They are mostly inexperienced with the road and how to handle distractions. If the age were moved to eighteen teenagers would have more driving experience (Sostarecz). Teenage drivers are extremely eager to drive because of freedom, but they are not aware of the distractions and peer pressure on the road; their experience of driving is not as well...show more content... The main distraction in a car is the cell phone; 11% of teenage drivers in fatal crashes were distracted and 21% were distracted by the cell phone (Rocky). Teenagers will mainly use cell phones to keep in contact with friends when they drive (Sostarecz). Other near crashed victims say it was the cause of texting, eating, or not paying attention to the road (Littlefield). Some teenagers are not aware of the road signs and are not able to identify things that more experienced drivers can. Teenagers do not look around to see their surroundings causing car accidents (Emmer). If the driver is not aware of his or her surroundings all people in the vicinity are at risk of getting injured. Another example of distractions and peer–pressure is intoxication. An example of this is when a teenage girl did not look around her and hit someone on their motorcycle causing them to go into a coma (Emmer). They were able to blood test the girl and saw that she had been intoxicated by marijuana. This may not have been peer–pressure, but it was a foolish decision made by an inexperienced teenager. Alcohol is a main problem with teenage driving. 32% of teenagers who were killed in 2011 consumed alcohol and 26% were alcohol impaired (Rocky). Alcohol will impair the mind causing people to not make good decisions and they lack reaction timing. In 2003 a study showed 30% of teenagers said that they had recently driven in a car with a driver who was alcohol–impaired (Cefrey). Not only is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Narrative Essay On A Car Accident "Should I scream dramatically like they do on tv shows?" "Should I try to slam on my brakes?" "If I swerve I still hit the other car". All I knew in that moment was a car was about to hit me. While remembering that my sister once said the worst part about a car accident is the sound, I came to the conclusion that no matter what, the crash was going to happen. My head banged forward and the car came to a jolting stop. CRUNCH. "Okay" I thought to myself "the worst part is over". But oh, how I was wrong. I opened my eyes to see the name "Kenny Chesney" on the radio and the time of 11:41AM on the radio. I knew the first thing I had to do was call the cops and inform them of the situation but I couldn't find my phone so I decided I'd go over to the other car to ask the driver if they were okay and if they could call the cops; well the only problem was my arm had become completely numb and wasn't about to let me go anywhere. I was truly at a loss until a woman yanked open my car door swarming me with questions "are you okay? Do you need anything? Do you need food? Do you need water? Are you injured? I'm on the phone with the police right now". Quickly, I stated that I needed to borrow her phone to call my dad and alert him of my current situation and that I couldn't feel my right arm. She said okay and asked if there was any blood, the answer was yes, all over the passenger seat actually, I just didn't know from what. All I could think about was whether the other driver was okay Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The driver decides to answer the text, veers into the other lane and hits an oncoming car. In the last seven years, the number of teens texting while driving has risen . Researchers at Cohen Children's Medical Center New Hyde Park estimated 3,000 annual teen deaths nationwide from texting and 300,000 injuries (Ricks). His friends want to go get food after the movies so they did. While on the way there a car accident happened that slowed down traffic for a little bit. They finally got to the restaurant to eat at 10:45. They went in, sat down, talked, ate some food and then left. When Jimmy was pulling into his driveway he looks at the clock and sees that it is 12:30 am. He knew he was late; his parent is going to kill him for being this late. When walking into the door he closes it back quietly and starts to walk up the stairs but then the kitchen lights turn on. Jimmy looks over and sees his mom and dad sitting at the table waiting for him. Knowing that he is about to get yelled at he forms a story in his head. As soon as his father asks why he was so late Jimmy starts to tell the story. "It was so crazy. When I was on my way back there was a horrible accident. It happened right in front of me. Both cars were totaled there was nothing left of them really. No one was badly injured but we had to wait for them to get out of the car to start the flow of traffic. I was sitting there for almost an hour. I was so traumatized by seeing the accident that on the way back I drove the car so slow and carefully as I could." When a cell phone is used while driving, it distracts the attention of the driver, leading to car accidents. While using a cell phone many people tend to miss traffic signals, because they are not really concentrating on driving. The process of dialing or answering the phone can make them lose control of the vehicle as well. Even though the driver is looking at the road, he or she can easily get distracted by the conversation. This can result in fatal accidents. Third reason of accidents on the road is teenage drivers. "2,739 teenagers died in car accidents in the United States during 2008 ", (drivesteady.com). Some teenagers cause fatal accidents, because of immaturity and lack of experience. Teenagers are very impulsive. Although not intending to hurt anyone, they sometimes drive very aggressively. It is not difficult to find teenagers driving with one hand on the steering wheel, seat pushed back, and with loud music playing. In traffic they go wild, trying to seek attention. They underestimate the risk of what they are doing. All these acts result in serious consequences on the road. Many accidents of young drivers result from their own mistakes. In conclusion, many people do not realize that being intoxicated while driving, using cellular phones and teenage drivers may bring serious injuries to everybody. Some people may enjoy drinking without care until they get into car accident, which can even result in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. The Accident: A Short Story The Accident      Every once and awhile I'll look back on my life and I'll laugh. Particularly at the times I spent with my best friend Nate and all the mischief we caused. I look back now and I think what the HELL were we doing? How did we not die? Have you ever sat down and had a conversation with a male teen between the ages of 14–17? I should've been locked away for that period of my life, I swear I was temporarily insane. I had NO concept of "consequences" or "repercussions". I did whatever, whenever. Unfortunately this little package of immaturity also came with other misleading thoughts such as a sense of invincibility, a total disregard for any authority, and taking pretty much...show more content... It was a cool summer night. I was hanging out with Nate, bored as usual, when Jeff stopped by with some interesting news. "An abandoned stretch of 95!" He said with excitement. "I found where it is this morning." Without second thoughts Nate and I hopped into my car and followed Jeff to what he had promised to be a "great time".      We drove through a well hidden, off road trail and finally arrived. It was everything we had hoped for. Two lanes of perfectly straight asphalt that stretched about a mile to a mile and a half. So what else are three immature guys to do? Race. Nate and I buckled our safety belts (a life saving maneuver) as Jeff pulled up next to us. With his fingers he slowly signaled 1–2–3. I stomped on the gas. I heard my four exhaust pipes roar, the engine growling, almost beast–like, then the tires screeched in compliance as our car jumped forward and took off, leaving a cloud of smoke behind while Nate approvingly yelled, hooting and hollering with every loud sound the car was emitting.      In about three seconds I had caught up with Jeff, in about three more seconds he was two dots in my rear view mirror. I remember seeing complete blackness and then branches from what I came to find out was a large dead tree. I cut the wheel hard, not knowing where we were about to go next. • 12. Car Accidents Essay Car accidents are a leading cause of both morbidity and disability. A car accident is said to have occurred when a motor vehicle collides with another motor vehicle, a pedestrian, an animal, a structure, a building or road equipment. Despite strict laws that govern speeding, drunk driving, distracted driving and overall driver negligence, car accidents continue to increase. New data from the National Safety Council shows that car accident fatalities have increased by a third from 2014 to 2016 in Georgia. This is the fifth highest increase in the country overall and is more than twice the national average. Motor vehicle fatalities have increased by 14% nationwide from 2014 to 2016. In fact, 2016 has been the deadliest year for the US since...show more content... Often these damages can be quite significant. Many times, the amount can easily surpass the average annual income of most people. That is why all drivers on the road are required to carry liability insurance. Your response in the event of a car accident is dependent on the level of damage. If it is a minor accident, drivers can often get away with a simple citation. But if there are serious injuries and/or damage, drivers can be held financially liable and can also be heavily penalized. The driver's license can also get suspended or revoked depending on the circumstances. If you are a victim, you should know that you are entitled to compensation. If it is an open and shut case and if the other driver is clearly responsible for the accident, your personal injury claim will be quite simple and should not take long to be approved. However, most of the time things are not so simple. Even if the at–fault driver has insurance coverage (which is required by law), that driver's insurance company may still try to challenge your claim in order to reduce their payout. This is very common and dealing with insurance companies is a major problem that most plaintiffs have to bear. In any case, the law allows you to file for damages no matter what the other party says or does. You can initiate a formal process through the civil court where you can seek compensation from the party who is at fault. When you file such a lawsuit, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Cause And Effect Of Car Accidents The world would be a much better place if there were fewer car accidents. Car accidents happen daily and regularly these days. They leave pains behind for the victims' families. Many people think that they will never get involved in car accidents. They don't wear their seat belts, they drive after drinking, and they use their cell phones while driving. They do all these things without even giving a second thought, yet all these things are preventable. No one knows what will happen to them in the future except for God; thus, they should always stay alarmed. People don't realize that doing those minor things cause them severe pains or even deaths. There are more than six million car accidents each year in the United States. A person dies in a car accident every twelve minutes and each year car crashes kill 40,000 people. Someone is injured by a car accident every fourteen seconds and about two million of the people who are injured in car accidents suffer permanent injuries. Car accidents are the leading cause of death for the people between two and thirty–four years old. Car crashes cost each American more than $1,000 a year; $164. 2 billion is the total cost each year across the U.S. (http://www.edgarsnyder.com/car–accident /statistics.html). As you can see, preserving car accidents not only saves the lives of the people, but also saves the money for their countries. This makes everyone to be involved in car accidents happen in their countries. So Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. The Pros And Cons Of Car Accidents Car accidents have become a common occurrence today. According to the State Highway Patrol, traffic deaths around Ohio have increased for the second year in a row. There were 1,057 traffic fatalities in 2015 as compared to 1008 fatalities in 2014 and 990 fatalities in 2014. According to a highway patrol spokesperson, approximately 60% of Ohio's fatal crashes in 2015 involved drivers who were not wearing a seatbelt. Nearly one–third of the fatal crashes involved drivers who were impaired by alcohol or drugs. If you were in a car accident and nobody got injured, you should count yourself lucky. It can be an extremely traumatic experience to suffer severe injuries or to see your passengers (friends and/or family) hurt or injured. It is also a very stressful experience if you are the one who is at fault and you end up injuring another driver. Therefore, car accidents that do not result in any fatalities and major injuries can be quite a blessing. Sometimes though, the vehicles are not as lucky and may suffer significant damage. You may ask yourself in such a situation as to who will pay the cost of repairing your car? The legal requirement in Cleveland, Ohio is for drivers to carry a minimum insurance policy that includes bodily injury liability and property damage liability coverage. Specifically, the required minimum for bodily injury liability coverage is $25,000 per person injured in an accident and $50,000 for all persons injured in an accident. The required minimum for property damage liability coverage is $25,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others. Ohio is a liability state. This means that if you are in an accident and you incur medical injuries and/or property damage, the driver who is responsible for the accident will be the one who will be held liable for any damages. In other words, it will be the negligent driver's insurance company who will pay you for any vehicle–related damages. That is precisely why the mandatory insurance policy in Ohio requires all drivers to carry a $25,000 property damage coverage. However, since Ohio is a liability state and any damages paid by the parties involved in an accident is dependent on the level of their fault, you have to keep in mind that if you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Cause And Effect Of A Car Crash People never know when life can come crashing to an end. My boyfriend, friend and I were in a car accident that happened while we brought her home from a rival high school football game. Many factors went into the cause of the wreck, but there are several more effects of this event that need to be discussed. A carcrash can affect your life in a variety of ways. To begin with, there are some obvious negative ways that an accident can impact your life. One of those things is a totaled car. When the wreck occurred, we drifted off the road and into a ditch. Consequently, we hit a tree that destroyed the vehicle. The front left side of the Catillac was gone and the left front tire was bent into the car. On my side, the mirror on the outside of the car was taken off and the door was bent in enough to where it would not open. Due to this event my boyfriend's family is now out a vehicle. Secondly, injuries is another issue. The only injuries that we received was sore muscles from jerking forward due to impact with the tree. Although this could have been something major. If the car had flipped, then this crash could have been fatal. Thankfully everyone was okay. Moreover, there was also trama from the wreck. Emotionally, I was messed up for a couple of days after it. I could still see and feel the crash happening. It almost felt like a dream afterwards even though I knew it really did happen. I was wondering why the wreck happened the way that it did. I was also wondering if anything different happened then would have the outcome remained the same. The last negative effect of this is how much each of our parents trust us now. With my boyfriend's parents, they actually were not too upset about the totaled vehicle. They were just glad that all of us were not harmed severely. When I finally got home that night I got yelled at, but it was expected. My dad was just scared about what had happened and he took it out on me. As for the trust, my parents were fine with me. As for them trusting my boyfriend's driving again, well.. he might have a little ways to go before the just level gets up to the same mark it was before. Even though there are many negatives to this car crash happening, there are still positive effects Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Car Accidents Car accidents continue to be one of the leading causes of injury and death in the US. Every day we hear of accidents that result in fatalities, disabilities, serious injuries and property damage. A large number of car accident victims suffer injuries that have a long–term impact on their life. In addition, they also have to deal with the emotional consequences of such an event. While some accidents are the result of unavoidable circumstances, there are many that occur mainly due to the reckless behavior of drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that 35,092 people were killed in 2015 and approximately 2,443,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes. 96 people died each day on average and one person was killed every 15 minutes. Many of these accidents could have been prevented if the drivers had demonstrated responsible behavior. Here are some behaviors that are responsible for a large majority of fatal and serious accidents in South Carolina: Driving under the Influence of Drugs and Alcohol: Alcohol–impaired driving is one of the primary reasons for car accidents in South Carolina despite a straightforward and specific Code of Laws in South Carolina that clearly states that it is illegal to get behind the wheel of a car while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. DUI penalties in South Carolina are very strict and heavy penalties can be imposed on those caught and convicted. Despite this, many drivers continue to drive while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Speeding and Aggressive Driving: Another major contributor in car accidents is speeding and other aggressive driving behaviors such as racing, tailgating, reckless and careless lane changing etc. This type of reckless behavior has been observed in young driver. Speed–related accidents continue to cause injury and damage to victims. Distracted Driving: This form of driving behavior is rapidly becoming a major problem for road safety. More and more people today have smartphones and despite repeated warnings about the consequences of distracted driving, drivers continue to text, talk, and email through their mobile devices. South Carolina safety officials have made a significant effort to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 18. Narrative Essay On Car Accidents I used to read about people getting in car accidents. Finally one happen to me, that was when I realized anything can happen at any moment. It was Monday, June 6th, 2016. The sun was shining and it was nice weather for an adventure. It was the first summer that any of my friends had their licences, so adventures were always happening. Kayla, Emily and I were on our way to Wildwood park, in her old blue car listening to music, using the GPS, and driving. Kayla was driving, Emily in the front seat, and I in the back. We were on Highway 14 going towards Mankato. Kayla looks down at the GPS for a second, I start yelling "shit, shit, shit, shit."and then CRASH. Our small blue car is now in the back of a large pickup truck. After all this happen we end up in the ditch on the other side of the road. We all sat in silence for like a minute, then Kayla started to freak out a little. Emily and I working on calming her down. A construction worker came up to our car and asks us if we are alright and told us, "Make sure you can move your arms and legs, sometimes things happen and you won't even know." We moved and we were all alright. First thing Kayla did was call her grandpa because he owned Kayla's car, he told us he was on his way. I texted my mom and she was not answering so I had to text my sister and she told my mom. And Emily text her mom as well. We did not want to call the cops because we didn't even know what to say or what to do, but the lady in the truck did not want to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Narrative Essay On A Car Accident Life is unpredictable and an accident can happen anytime. on our way back home from church my dad was driving a black 2012 Toyota Highlander, which is a family car that seven people can ride in it. My younger brother, Taw Nay Gay, and I were sitting on the seat behind the driver seat by the door. My other two younger brothers, Gay Nay Soe and Soe K Maw, sat in the seat behind me, and my mom sat in the front passenger seat. For the first time a nineteen year old girl like me started to believe that I had a reason to live and my life could be taken away anytime. This happened on October first 2017, 7:30 pm when we got into a car accident by the traffic lights intersection. Three cars were damaged, but everyone in the cars were fine....show more content... My Dad said, "I am okay". Another American man came and asked, " is everyone in the car okays? Me and my family was fine. It just that our car got damaged in the front but we can still drive." Asian man said, "me and my wife were fine too, but our car is not fine because we cannot move it." I remembered my friend Tim said when he got in to car accident he and the other driver were cursed and blamed each other about the accident. To me, I felt that they care about their car more than their life. And they must have forgotten that their cars were not as important as their life. Therefore, they put their cars first before them. Another accident that I remembered. Karen singer Gangyi was one of my first male favorite singer. I started to noticed his amazing voice when I listened to one of the song that he covers. The song called "The Prayer"; he sang this song with his sister May. Sadly, not long after I heard his song; I heard he passed away during car accident. "This guy passed away during the car accident not long ago. I saw some of my Facebook friends post about his death and his family must be really sad for loosed his precious son," my dad said. "Why must he leave the world so early at his young age? He had not sung more than ten songs yet. He just started to sing few song and he passed away after that?" I reply to my dad. • 20. Essay about The Physics of Car Collisions Basic Concepts Issac Newton was the first to state the concepts that are necessary to understanding the physics of collisions. His three laws are used again and again in all the fields of physics: Newton's 1st Law In the absence of external forces, an object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion with a constant velocity. This law can be best observed in space, far from the gravity of a star or planet, where there is no friction or air resistance. If, in the middle of deep space, you give a rock a little push, it will continue with the direction and velocity you gave it forever. The only way to stop it is to apply a force in the opposite direction. This law is not intuitive because we are surrounded...show more content... Every single action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you were standing in the middle of a perfectly slick frozen lake, and needed to get off, you could throw an object away from you. When you applied force to the object you threw, it also applied an equal force pushing you back. You would travel in the opposite direction from the throw, although slower, because you probably have mass more than the object you threw. Static and Kinetic Friction Friction is a key concept when you are attempting to understand car accidents. The force of friction is a force that resists motion when two objects are in contact. If you look at the surfaces of all objects, there are tiny bumps and ridges. Those microscopic peaks and valleys catch on one another when two objects are moving past each other. This explanation is a little simplified. There are other processes at work, including chemical bonding and electrical interactions. The level of friction that different materials exhibit is measured by the coefficient of friction. The formula is Вµ = f / N, where Вµ is the coefficient of friction, f is the amount of force that resists motion, and N is the normal force. Normal force is the force at which one surface is being pushed into another. If a rock that weighs 50 newtons is lying on the ground, then the normal force is that 50 newtons of force. The higher Вµ is, the more force resists motion if two objects are sliding past each other. There are
