2. Definitions of Socialization
“Socialization means the process by which an individual learns to-
satisfy his needs in socially acceptable way, to move within the rules
of his society and to share in his society’s values.” ( Hillgard )
“Socialization is the process by which a person develops from a mere
biological organism, a sat birth, to an adequate adult, in a
Psychological sense until he learns to display a measure of the
prevailing adult attitudes, values, beliefs and knowledge of the
subculture to which he belongs.” ( Bigge and Hunt ).

1. Imitation-: imitation plays vital role in the formation
of our character and behavior a child learns eating,
taking, and dressing by imitating his family members.

2. Suggestion-: the meaning of suggestion is to accept
the views and habits of others without any thinking.

sympathy love and sincerity are considered very important

individuals open minded. Sympathy is an important element of
society and common value in the religion.
4. Coercion-: is punishment it is an extreme of Social anger
punishment plays vital role in the formation of human behavior it
stops him taking part immoral acts even others get lesson from
punishment served to some one else.
6. 5. Self Projection-: it is weakness of more or less every one it has
different ways of display some project their wealth and some try
to press the others through the expensive dresses where as
some exhibits their some self projection by exposing their
nobility righteousness and piousness.
5. Social Control-: Society controls Human behavior with different
rules. These are some restriction which are obligatory for every
one. To maintain Social organization social restriction are
necessary. It includes Rules, Rituals, Culture, Values, Norms and
Education etc.
7. Major Sources of Socialization / Agents of Socialization
The first Source of Socialization is
Family according to “Baldon” as the
child grows and develops by inhaling air
air physically, similarly by grasping
family norms and values attains social
growth.
The 2nd source of Socialization and
conscious is Peer Group it includes
Neighbors in the vicinity of a child.
8. In present time it is the major source of
Socialization through discussions and visuals
the person learns the social behaviors,
Values, norms and rules etc.
Religious institution heavily guide us how to
understand the Social values norms and rules
it tells us what are the good and bad
standards of the society.
9. The school helps the child to adapt to
social order through the hidden curriculum
and functions in order to prepare the
latter for a stable adult life.
Just as the children spend a significant
part of day at their school, the adults
spend much of their day at their workplace.

indirect agent of socialization.

Some Psychologist understand Socialization a formation and
training of such abilities and characters of an individual which
assist him to attain better social adjustment. As so far the meaning
is Socialization is concerned, it is translated as Social interaction its
practical interpretation is a processes of enabling to an individual
to interact in a society and increase an ability of the individual to
