ABSTRACT
Generally, trolleys are used to transport loads
on even surfaces. Stair climbing trolley is an
extension of general trolleys. These are used to
transport loads on stairs and uneven surfaces
like holes, speed breakers. These trolleys are
very economical as the intial and maintenance
costs are low. It is used to transport loads with
less effort. There need not be heavy
mechanisms for stair climbing trolley.

INTRODUCTION
Stair climbing trolley is an extension of
general trolleys. These are used to
transport loads on stairs and uneven
surfaces like holes, speed breakers. It is
operated by a single operator.
LITERATURE REVIEW
 Md. A. Hossain. Nafis studied a new horizon for the
transportation of the loads over the stair. Most of the
buildings of the country are structurally congested
and unavailing of elevator facility so it is difficult and
laborious to lift up heavy loads.
 Mr. Ravi R. Mishra modified In the first design, the
power transmission to the single or double wheel
trolley is useless to climb the stairs due to height
factor of stairs creates huge obstacle on the way of
vehicle.
TRI-STAR WHEEL DESIGN
Here bending stress is calculated for shaft and beam.
The bending stress is with in the allowable limit.

SELECTION AND FABRICATION
OF STAIR CLIMBER TROLLEY
 CATIA MODEL
Working
It consists of three wheels at three corners of
an equilateral triangle while moving on flat
surfaces two wheels on either side will slide on
ground. Because of two wheels on either side
will slide can carry more loads compared to
conventional trolleys. While, climbing stairs
each wheel with respect to centre of triangle
gets rolled. Control of this trolley is made easier
by using a flexible handle. Load is carried on a
plywood supported by a iron frame.
 FABRICATION
It is done by grinding, welding, cutting, drilling
operations.
Advantages
 These trolleys are very economical as the
intial and maintainance costs are low.
 It is used to transport loads with less effort.
 There need not be heavy mechanisms for
stair climbing trolley.
RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS
 The stair climbing trolley is tested under
various loads upto designed load, the
project worked satisifactorily
 The materials used can be alloys to reduce
weight. As far the commercial aspects of this
product are concerned Presently, there are
no competitors for such a kind of product in
our market.

  • 4. INTRODUCTION Stair climbing trolley is an extension of general trolleys. These are used to transport loads on stairs and uneven surfaces like holes, speed breakers. It is operated by a single operator.

Most of the buildings of the country are structurally congested and unavailing of elevator facility so it is difficult and laborious to lift up heavy loads.  Mr. Ravi R. Mishra modified In the first design, the power transmission to the single or double wheel trolley is useless to climb the stairs due to height factor of stairs creates huge obstacle on the way of vehicle.

  • 8. Working It consists of three wheels at three corners of an equilateral triangle while moving on flat surfaces two wheels on either side will slide on ground. Because of two wheels on either side will slide can carry more loads compared to conventional trolleys. While, climbing stairs each wheel with respect to centre of triangle gets rolled. Control of this trolley is made easier by using a flexible handle. Load is carried on a plywood supported by a iron frame.

  • 12. Advantages  These trolleys are very economical as the intial and maintainance costs are low.  It is used to transport loads with less effort.  There need not be heavy mechanisms for stair climbing trolley.
  • 13. RESULTS&CONCLUSIONS  The stair climbing trolley is tested under various loads upto designed load, the project worked satisifactorily  The materials used can be alloys to reduce weight. As far the commercial aspects of this product are concerned Presently, there are no competitors for such a kind of product in our market.
