2. What song are we doing?
In our first team meeting we all agreed to
make a music video to ‘Summertime
Sadness’ by Lana Del Rey (Cedric Gervais
remixed version)
We decided this as we could incorporate
elements of both pop and indie music
videos but at the same it’s upbeat.

5. What is the music video
about?
The music video will feature a flashback
scene and a home video effect of a past
holiday in the summer where life was
seemingly 'perfect' and happy on the
beach in Spain. It will keep referring back
to the present where the artist is sad an
reminiscing back to happier times and
she has since had an argument and
broken up with her boyfriend.
6. Why did we choice a
pop/indie genre?
We carried out a series of
surveys asking 50 people
what their favourite genre
was. 25 of these were male
and the other 25 were
female. For both men and
women the most popular
genre was pop. Overall,
the second most popular
genre was indie so we
decided to try and
incorporate both.
7. Locations and costumes
We are using several locations for our
music video including; a house, woods,
the beach and the countryside.
The costumes are going to casual in order
to meet my target audience's
expectations, and is also going to include
beachwear, as my target audience
expect to see this too.
8. What makes our music
video stand out?
A lot of pop videos have dancers and
routines throughout the video however,
we decided that we want the audience
to focus directly on the artist so it is going
to be subtle and focused on her and her
singing. It will also focus on the narrative,
including plenty of flashbacks.
