Esther MacCallum-Stewart is an expert in online gaming communities and virtual worlds like Second Life. She has a PhD from the University of Sussex and currently works as a post-doc researcher studying online interactions. Second Life is a virtual world where users create avatars to socialize and role play in various online communities. Lori Shyba has an MFA from the University of Calgary in performance and multimedia. Her research focuses on how interactive media can help understand social issues, such as using video games to discuss serious topics safely. David Diamond co-founded Headlines Theatre, which creates entertaining plays to discuss social issues collaboratively with community members directly impacted by the topics. Their "Theatre for
