2. Happy Valentine’s Day
It’s Valentine’s Day, and love is in the air. So
it’s the perfect time to highlight how to create
love in your business. Here’s my guide to
being irresistible – in fact, so irresistible to
your customers that they can’t stay away!
Take note of these 5 Truths in your business
and you’ll be the perfect Marketing Lover.
3. Attract your perfect match
Are you relying on chance, convinced that
customers are just going to find you? You
have a much better chance of finding your
perfect match if you know what you’re
looking for.
Create your perfect customer checklist.
Include everything about them that you love
and that makes them love you – now use that
checklist to sort, sift and screen your
prospects. After all, you don’t want to love
everyone, just those special someones.
4. Make a fabulous first impression
Research says we decide if we like someone in
the first two seconds of seeing them! How you
look, what you say and how you act all matter.
And just because you haven’t seen them, it
doesn’t mean they haven’t noticed you.
Are you smiling and welcoming - in person, on
paper, on the phone and online? Is your image
consistent, no matter where you are? Do you
pay attention to those little details?
The more positive and beneficial that first
encounter, the more likely it is that it will last.
5. Talk their language
Listen to your customers - the words they use
and the way they speak. Now when you talk
to them, whether face-to-face, on paper or
online, imagine you are joining in their
conversation. Use language they are familiar
with, words that make sense to them and that
they are comfortable with.
When you talk their language, you are
matching your world with theirs – and that
can be powerfully seductive.
6. Date your customer
Seth Godin tells us to love our customers and
date them. Make them feel special. Show
genuine interest in them. Engage with them
and give them a reason to want to be with you.
Forget the pick-up lines and cheap one-night-
stands, you want to invest in developing a long
term relationship. Set your sights on getting
that first date, then go for another and another.
Something magical happens when people
spend time together, so take it easy, just one
date at a time.
7. Give them what they want
I love having presents, especially when
they’re “just what I always wanted”! Of
course, I usually have to give some subtle
hints, drop things into conversation, leave
little reminders around and about.
Are you listening to your customers? Really
listening? Are you picking up their signals –
and then matching what you offer to exactly
what they want, what they really, really want?
Believe me, this is the number one way to
blow your irresistibility absolutely sky high.

these five tips in your marketing. You
