8. Motivation
The utilization of Social Media within the business world as well as in
our private environment progresses with a rapid pace.
Obviously it is no longer a question of ‘if’ but of ‘how’ should one utilize
Social Media within a respective organization or personal setting.
Also within the academic landscape the use of Social Media is
developing rather fast.
Be it in teaching, research, or administration and marketing, Facebook,
Twitter and Co. are being used more and more.

• What is the general attitude about Social Media use in your
University/School?
• How are Social Media being used in your University/School?
... in general?
... in the different areas like teaching and curricula, research,
or administration and marketing?
• And what are your personal experiences?
• Who is triggering the activities?
• Is their a strategy available?
• Which benefits have been achieved?
• Could you name success and - possible - failure stories?
• What are lessons learned so far?
• What are main success factors? What are the barriers?
• What are the future directions at your University/School in terms of Social
Media use?
